Abstract

 The problem of low critical thinking skills among grade VII students in informatics at SMP Negeri 4 Singaraja is closely linked to the persistent use of conventional teaching methods. These traditional approaches often lack interactivity, limiting students' understanding of abstract technical concepts like computer networks and algorithms. To address this pedagogical gap, this study aims to develop an interactive e-module based on the case based learning model, integrated with augmented reality technology to facilitate an immersive learning experience. This research and development study adopted the ADDIE instructional model and employed a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected using expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and higher order thinking skills oriented critical thinking tests. The effectiveness was analyzed using the N-gain index, paired sample t-tests, and Cohen’s d effect size. The results indicate that the AR based CBL e-module achieved a 100% validity score based on expert evaluations, along with excellent practicality scores of 91% from students and 100% from teachers. Furthermore, the field test showed a statistically significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills (p < 0.001) with a large effect size of 3.955, reflecting a strong positive impact on learning outcomes. In conclusion, the AR assisted CBL e-module is a highly valid, practical, and effective educational tool. This study contributes to the educational technology literature by demonstrating how integrating 3D visual scaffolding with authentic case scenarios successfully overcomes cognitive barriers and fosters higher-order thinking.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a PBCL-based CoLearn Physics E-Module integrated with PhET simulation on Projectile Motion and to evaluate its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving students’ scientific attitudes and learning achievement. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The participants included two subject matter experts, two instructional media experts, two instructional design experts, two physics teachers, and 36 eleventh-grade students of SMAK Harapan. Data were collected using validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, scientific attitude questionnaires, and learning achievement tests. Product effectiveness was examined using a one-group pretest-posttest design and analyzed through paired sample t-test, N-gain, and Cohen’s d. The results indicated that the developed E-Module achieved a very good category based on expert validation, with scores of 81% from subject matter experts, 92% from instructional media experts, and 94% from instructional design experts. The practicality test showed that the E-Module was categorized as highly practical based on teacher assessment (90.00%), individual trials (86.00%), small-group trials (87.80%), and large-group trials (88.72%). The paired sample t-test revealed significant differences between pretest and posttest scores in scientific attitudes (t(35) = -18.260; p < 0.001) and learning achievement (t(35) = -10.051; p < 0.001). The N-gain values were in the moderate category for scientific attitudes (0.33) and learning achievement (0.51), while Cohen’s d indicated large effect sizes for scientific attitudes (1.15) and learning achievement (2.46). Therefore, the PBCL-based CoLearn Physics E-Module integrated with PhET simulation is considered valid, highly practical, and effective for supporting physics learning on Projectile Motion.

Abstract

The research on the development of an Interactive E-Module based on PBL on human reproductive system material for grade XI high school students aims to develop a more interactive learning medium, one of which is through the E-Module, in order to facilitate the teaching and learning process independently and flexibly. This research aims to develop an Interactive E-Module based on PBL on the material of the human reproductive system for grade XI high school that is valid and practical, which can be used as teaching material in the Merdeka Curriculum. The specific purpose of this research is to determine the design, practicality, and validity of the E-Module media. The research method used was the ASSURE development research model. The research location is at SMA Negeri 3 Singaraja. Validity testing using Likert scale calculations with 2 material experts and 2 media experts. From the two experts, the validity level values of the material experts and media experts were obtained at 90.38%, this categorized as highly valid. The practicality test was carried out by 3 students in individual trials and 12 students in small group trials with different cognitive abilities. From the individual test results, the study obtained a score of 92%, while the small group trial obtained a result of 86.1% in the highly practical. It can be concluded that the development of an Interactive E-Module based on PBL on the human reproductive system material is highly valid and highly practical to be used as teaching material for phase F at SMA Negeri 3 Singaraja.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of a Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based learning material for the topic of ecosystems and environmental change for Grade X senior high school students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach following the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, expert validation, and practicality testing. Product validity was assessed by experts in content, language, and media, while practicality was examined through questionnaires administered to three biology teachers and 34 Grade X students at SMA Negeri 1 Sawan. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The validation results indicate a Gregory Validity Coefficient of 1, signifying a very high level of validity. Practicality tests yielded scores of 91.66% from teachers and 90.34% from students, both categorized as highly practical. The final product is a HOTS-based learning material integrated with Google Sites, featuring interactive content, digital worksheets, instructional videos, educational games, and online assessments. The study concludes that the developed learning material is valid, practical, and has the potential to enhance student engagement and critical thinking skills in alignment with the demands of 21st-century learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective interactive e-module based on discovery learning to improve the literacy skills of Year 11 students at SMA Negeri 1 Selat. The development of the e-module was motivated by the students’ need for more engaging and interactive learning materials. This study was conducted using the ADDIE model, which comprises the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The research subjects were Year 11 students at SMA Negeri 1 Selat. The data collection methods used were observation, questionnaires and tests. The data analysis methods employed were qualitative descriptive analysis, quantitative descriptive analysis, inferential statistical analysis using the t-test, the N-Gain test and Cohen’s d test. The research results indicate that the interactive e-module was deemed valid based on a content expert validation score of 90.4%, a media expert validation score of 92.8%, and a design expert validation score of 95.5%. The e-module developed was deemed practical, with an average score of 91%. Furthermore, the e-module was found to be effective based on the results of a paired-sample t-test with a p-value of < 0.005, indicating a significant difference in students’ literacy skills before and after using the interactive e-module. The N-Gain test yielded a value of 0.6264, representing a percentage of 62.64%, indicating that the interactive e-module is sufficiently effective in improving literacy skills. The Cohen’s d test yielded a value of 2.138, indicating that the interactive e-module has a significant effect on improving literacy skills. It can therefore be concluded that the discovery-learning-based interactive e-module developed is valid, practical and effective in improving the literacy skills of Year 11 students at SMA Negeri 1 Selat.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran yang inovatif diperlukan untuk mendukung pembelajaran Biologi yang mampu mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (Higher Order Thinking Skills/HOTS) peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media Flipbook berbasis Discovery Learning dan HOTS pada materi sistem pencernaan di SMA serta menganalisis tingkat kevalidan dan kepraktisannya. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Tahap implementasi dilaksanakan melalui uji coba terbatas sesuai ruang lingkup penelitian. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas dua ahli materi, dua ahli media, tiga guru Biologi, dan 32 peserta didik kelas XI B SMA Negeri 2 Banjar. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan angket, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dalam bentuk persentase. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa media memperoleh skor 82% dari ahli materi dengan kategori valid dan 90% dari ahli media dengan kategori sangat valid. Uji kepraktisan menunjukkan persentase sebesar 83% berdasarkan penilaian guru dan 92% berdasarkan respons peserta didik, yang masing-masing termasuk dalam kategori praktis dan sangat praktis. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa Flipbook yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi sistem pencernaan. Integrasi sintaks Discovery Learning dengan aktivitas yang berorientasi HOTS menjadikan media ini berpotensi mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih aktif, bermakna, dan berpusat pada peserta didik di jenjang sma.

Abstract

The gap between the abstraction of middle school mathematics material and the real-life challenges faced by students in Bali creates an urgent need to implement a pedagogical innovation that not only utilises technology but is also rooted in the local Balinese cultural context to reduce declines in learning motivation and math anxiety in middle school. The purpose of this research is to develop an Ethno-Gamification Platform as a medium for mathematics learning, based on the challenges of local Balinese wisdom, for junior high school students. This research is a development study using the Borg and Gall development model, modified into five main stages: research and field data collection, planning, design development, initial testing, and revision of initial testing. The research subjects were selected using the Purposive Sampling technique, which involved IT experts, education experts, IT education evaluators, teachers, and junior high school students in Bali. The data collection technique in this study employed a 5-point Likert-scale questionnaire. The data analysis technique applied is a quantitative descriptive approach, using a percentage calculation formula to categories the platform's level of validity and effectiveness. The research shows that the effectiveness of the Ethno-Gamification Platform for Mathematics Learning Based on Local Wisdom Challenges in Bali is 86.5%, categorising it as very effective. This research successfully developed the Ethno-Gamification Platform as a highly effective, innovative, and responsive medium for teaching mathematics based on local wisdom challenges in Bali for junior high school students.

Abstract

The Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children Movement (Gerakan Tujuh Kebiasaan Anak Indonesia Hebat) is a national character-strengthening program based on daily habituation at the junior high school (Sekolah Menengah Pertama/SMP) level. This study aims to analyze the program's design logic and implementation readiness using the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) model. This qualitative documentary evaluation study analyzed secondary data consisting of 3 official ministry guideline documents (published in 2025) and 15 empirical literature articles (2020–2025) selected based on relevance criteria regarding character education, child health, and program evaluation. Data were analyzed using content analysis by matching document substances against the eligibility criteria of each CIPP component. The evaluation results at the document level indicate: (1) Context: the program design demonstrates high relevance in addressing character decline, health issues, and digital distractions among SMP students; (2) Input: policy documents adequately include guides for teachers and parents, yet lack operational monitoring instrument criteria; (3) Process: the planned implementation mechanism is theoretically sound, but risks becoming ceremonial without integration into school culture; and (4) Product: success criteria in the design documents are feasible to be developed into longitudinal behavioral indicators. The study concludes that the program design is conceptually viable and ready for implementation at the SMP level, provided that its sustainability relies on measurable operational monitoring tools.

Abstract

Inovasi dalam media pembelajaran didorong oleh pesatnya perkembangan teknologi digital. Media ini diharapkan dapat mendukung proses belajar yang lebih aktif, fleksibel, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik. Namun, implementasi media pembelajaran berbasis mobile learning untuk mata pelajaran Informatika di jenjang SMP belum berjalan optimal, terutama dalam hal menunjang kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan media mobile learning Ruang Persegi yang memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut. Metode penelitian yang dipilih adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan mengadopsi model 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Partisipan penelitian meliputi ahli materi, ahli media dan desain pembelajaran, guru informatika, serta siswa SMP. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket validasi ahli, angket respons pengguna (User Experience Questionnaire/UEQ), dan tes (pre-test dan post-test). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa media Ruang Persegi memperoleh penilaian sangat baik dari ahli, dinyatakan praktis berdasarkan tanggapan guru dan siswa, serta terbukti efektif meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah hal ini dibuktikan dengan peningkatan rata-rata hasil pre-test sebesar 63,80 dan rata-rata post-test sebesar 78,31 yang menunjukan peningkatan dan sudah berada diatas KKTP yaitu 76. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi pendidik untuk menggunakan media Ruang Persegi sebagai penunjang penerapan Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam pembelajaran Informatika.

Abstract

Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The developed product was an interactive e-book containing learning materials, images, illustrations, videos, interactive activities, and articles on environmental issues integrated with ESD principles. The validity test involved media experts and subject-matter experts, while the practicality test involved one biology teacher and 35 students. The data were analyzed descriptively to determine the validity and practicality of the product. The results showed that: (1) the development process produced an interactive e-book learning medium oriented toward ESD principles on ecosystem topics; (2) the product achieved a validity score of 1.00 from both media and subject-matter experts, indicating a very valid category; and (3) the practicality test results showed percentages of 97.33% from the teacher and 86.67% from the students, both categorized as very practical. Therefore, the ESD-oriented interactive e-book developed in this study was found to be valid and practical for use in biology learning activities on ecosystem topics.
