<![CDATA[Background: Nutrition and diet intake are such related with growth and development of body organs, including growth and development of bone and teeth. High quality and concentration of protein and cancium in food have linier relationship with growth and development of bone and teeth. Anchovies are high quality protein and calcium source. Anchovies are cheap calcium and protein source that can be available in Indonesia. This review was aimed to review the benefits of anchovies to development of bone and teeth. Discussion : DisAnchovies are high quality food because all of the body can be consumed. Bone of anchovies contains protein and calcium. Per 100 gram of anchovies contain 77 kcal of energy; l6 gr protein; 1.0 gr fat; 500 mg calcium; 500 mg phosfor; 1.0 mg ferrum; 47 Vit A; and 0.1 mg Vit B. Protein and calcium were needed by body fore repairing process and structed the tissue. Protein was as bone matrix. Calcium of anchovies was good for bone, teeth and had calming effect. Moreover, vitamin A of anchovies was also important for bone and teeth development. Conclusion: anchovies could be used as essential nutrition to optimal of bone and teeth development.]]>

<![CDATA[Background: Needs of dental cosmetic services increased due to people's desire to get a brighter and whiter smile. Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is one of bleaching substance that most commonly used. Use of H2O2 in a high concentration can cause a negative impact on the oral cavity. Honey is a natural ingredient that can whiten teeth. This study aimed to determine the effect of concentration of honey on tooth colour changes of teeth whitening process. Method: This research was an experimental in vitro study using pretest-posttest design with teeth as a research sample. 24 premolars teeth as samples were soaked in various concentration of honey (25%, 35%, 50%, 75%). The colour of teeth were measured with a spectrophotometer before and after treatment. Teeth colour were analyzed by paired samples T-test. Result: Paired T-test showed p<0.05, which means that concentration of honey affected on tooth colour changes. One way ANOVA test results showed concentrations of honey significantly affect tooth discoloration (p <0,05). Post hoc test results showed significant difference On the concentration of 25% of the concentration of honey 50%, 75%, but on a concentration of 25% honey and 35% there is no significant difference. Conclusion: From these results, it can be concluded that the concentration of honey affected on tooth colour changes in an in vitro tooth whitening process.]]>

<![CDATA[TITLETHE RELATION OF PARENTS’ BEHAVIOUR ON DENTAL HEALTH TOWARD THEIR DEAF CHILDREN’S ORAL HEALTH STATUS: CASE STUDY IN SDLB ABC SWADAYA KALIWUNGU KENDALABSTRACTThe Growth and the development of deaf children often cause the health problems, one of the problem is oral health. Factors that affect the level of oral health are knowledge, attitude and action. The deaf children dental health is influenced by the parents’ behavior to maintenance of oral health. The purpose of this research was to describe the relation of knowledge, attitudes and actions of parents about dental and oral health on dental health status of the deaf children. The research method is observational analytic, with cross sectional research approach. The samples in this research was 30 people, it was total sampling for sampling technique. It was univariate analysis, bivariate analysis (chi square) and multivariate analysis (logistic regression) for data analysis.The results of statistical tests showed that parent’s knowledge, attitudes and actions about dental and oral health have a significant relation with dental and mouth health status (DMF-T) of the deaf children, with p-value 0,003 (p 0.05). The most related variable with dental and mouth health status (DMF-T) in deaf children is the attitude was p = 0.002. The conclusion of this research is parent’s knowledge, attitudes and actions about oral and dental health related to dental and mouth health status (DMF-T) of the deaf children. Attitude is the most related variable to dental and mouth health status (DMF-T). ]]>

<![CDATA[Jintan hitam mengandung senyawa antimikroba bersifat volatil dan non volatil dengan bermacam tingkat kepolaran. Penelitian sebelumnya dikemukakan semakin lama perendaman kantong celup berisi bahan herbal, kadar klorinnya semakin rendah, terutama pada perendaman kantong celup berisi ekstrak flavonoid dari jinten hitam. Adanya kandungan flavonoid ekstrak jinten hitam dan klorin yang dikeluarkan oleh kantong celup, perlu diketahui bagaimana ekstrak jinten hitam dengan sediaan kantong celup mempengaruhi respon inflamasi sel radang neutrofil yang sebelumnya dipapar Streptokokus mutan secara in-vitro. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental laboratories, rancangan penelitian menggunakan the post test only control group design. Populasi penelitian ekstrak flavonoid jinten hitam dengan sediaan kantung celup jumlah sampel minimal 4 sampel untuk tiap kelompok perlakuan. Sampel dikelompok menjadi 10 kelompok yaitu 5 uji adhesi neutrofil dan 5 uji monosit. Hasil perhitungan viabilitas monosit yang dipapar S. mutans menunjukkan bahwa jumlah monosit yang viabel (hidup) pada inkubasi air seduhan 8 menit kantung teh celup ekstrak flavonoid jinten hitam paling tinggi, dan kelompok kontrol (kantung kosong) paling rendah, dan menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antar kelompok perlakuan (p0.05). Obat kumur dengan sediaan teh celup berisi ekstrak flavonoid jinten hitam mampu meningkatkan adhesi S mutans pada neutrofil, sehingga neutrofil sebagai sel imunitas dapat melakukan fagositosis dan membunuh S mutans.]]>

<![CDATA[Masalah rendahnya cakupan pemberian ASI eksklusif dan status gizi bayi merupakan dampak dari Produksi ASI yang kurang, Capaian cakupan terendah terdapat di Kota Mataram sebesar 51,5% yang belum mencapai target 80%. Terdapat terapi non-farmakologis sebagai upaya meningkatkan produksi ASI ibu menyusui yakni kombinasi Topikal Gel Jahe Merah Dan Kapsul Ekstrak Daun Katuk. Membuktikan efektifitas kombinasi Topikal Gel Jahe Merah Dan Kapsul Ekstrak Daun Katuk dalam meningkatkan produksi ASI ibu menyusui. Penelitian ini menggunakan Quasi Eksperimen dan rancangan pre-test and post-test with control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Purposive Sampling yang terdiri dari 36 responden yang dibagi menjadi kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol. Kelompok intervensi diberi gel jahe merah 2mg 2x sehari dan kapsul ekstrak daun katuk 3x300mg sehari, kelompok kontrol diberikan manajemen laktasi, selama 7 hari. Analisis data menggunakan Wilcoxon, Mann Whitney, Paired Sample T-Test, Independent Sample T-Test. Rerata selisih pre-post berat badan bayi pada kelompok intervensi sebesar 291,66 dan kontrol 58,33, terdapat perbedaan selisih pada kelompok intervensi dan kontrol (p value=0,00). Kombinasi gel jahe merah dan kapsul ekstrak daun katuk efektif terhadap produksi ASI ibu menyusui.]]>

<![CDATA[Dalam proses pemberian ASI eksklusif terdapat kendala yang dialami oleh ibu yang menjadi penyebab kegagalan dalam pemberian ASI salah satunya disebabkan oleh produksi ASI ibu yang sedikit. Upaya yang dilakukan untuk peningkatan produksi ASI yaitu dengan cara non farmakologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas tablet effervescent kombinasi daun katuk (Sauropus Androgynus L. Merr) dan susu kedelai terhadap produksi ASI pada ibu menyusui dengan indikator berat badan bayi. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasy experiment dengan pretest and posttest control group design. Pengambilan sampel secara Purposive Sampling. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 68 ibu nifas normal hari ke 1-10. Analisis data menggunakan uji Repetaed Measures Anova, One Way Anova dan Uji Kruskal Wallis. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik didapatkan dengan nilai signifikansi (p=0,000) < 0,05, yang artinya terdapat perbedaan rata-rata berat badan bayi pada kelompok intervensi yang diberikan tablet effervescent kombinasi daun katuk dan susu kedelai sebelum dan setelah diberikan perlakuan]]>

<![CDATA[Background: Oral Therapists in pediatric dentistry services are to provide oral health care contained in Kepmenkes Number HK.01.07/MENKES/1513/2022, with stages: Assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. The implementation of service actions in hospitals, oral therapists only play a role in the intervention stage (assisting pediatric dental specialists), while at the stages of assessment, diagnosis, planning and evaluation in care services are carried out by general nurses (application of complete nursing care) this is because dental therapists do not yet have dental health care.Objective: To develop a pediatric dentistry oral health care model for dental therapist compliance and children's anxiety.Methods: This research design uses RD. The sample was divided into 2 groups, the oral health care model in pediatric patients with mesiodens tooth extraction cases as many as 10 respondents and dental therapists as many as 10 respondents on compliance. Analysis using the Wilcoxon test.Results: The oral health care model effectively reduces children's anxiety. The correlation value of R square is 0.583. The coefficient of determination (R Square) is 0.340, that the influence of the model implementation compliance variable by oral therapist on the variable child anxiety in the act of tooth extraction in mediocre cases is 34%. The F value was found to be 4.121 with a significance level of 0.077 (0.05).Conclusion: The oral health care model for pediatric tooth extraction with mesiodens cases is feasible and its application is effective in increasing the compliance of oral therapists, reducing children's anxiety in accepting pediatric tooth extraction.]]>

<![CDATA[The results of the Basic Health Research (2018) stated that the Indonesian population with oral problems aged 55-64 years was 61.9% and aged 65 years was 54.2%. Some changes in teeth and oral cavity that are often found in the elderly are tooth loss which results in impaired food digestion, pain / pain in the teeth due to periodontal tissue and root caries, reduced vertical dimensions of artificial teeth, gingivitis and various other abnormalities. It is hoped that after being given oral health education through an innovation program in the form of a stroke elderly companion link or what is called “LIPSIAS” can increase the knowledge of stroke elderly on how to maintain their oral health through the help of a companion so that it can have a good influence on their dental hygiene. Research Objectives: Producing a dental and oral health maintenance program through empowering elderly companions in the form of the LIPSIAS Application as a medium for promoting oral health in the Elderly Social Service Home. Using Quantitative methods with pre-experiment research design (one group pretest and posttest design). The sampling technique was purposive sampling consisting of 14 elderly stroke at the Elderly Social Services Home. Results: The results of the statistical test showed P value 0.05, meaning that there was a significant difference in the knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance of stroke elderly before and after being given the LIPSIAS application intervention. Before treatment, the average value of knowledge of stroke elderly was 4.07 (poor category) increased to 8 (good category). The LIPSIAS application is effective in increasing the knowledge of stroke elderly about how to maintain oral health through companion assistance]]>
