Abstract

Pukat cincin (purse seine) merupakan salah satu alat tangkap utama di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Belawan, Sumatera Utara. Namun, komposisi dan jumlah hasil tangkapan utama serta tangkapan sampingan (by-catch) dari operasi purse seine di perairan Belawan belum diketahui secara detail. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi komposisi hasil tangkapan purse seine berdasarkan kategori tangkapan utama dan tangkapan sampingan. Penelitian dilakukan pada April hingga Mei 2024 di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Belawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei, di mana pengambilan data hasil tangkapan dilakukan melalui observasi langsung terhadap kegiatan nelayan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa total tangkapan purse seine di Belawan selama periode 2019 hingga 2023 mencapai puncaknya pada tahun 2022 dengan persentase 32,5%, sementara tahun dengan tangkapan terendah tercatat pada 2019 sebesar 9,3%. Komposisi tangkapan utama purse seine meliputi layang deles (Decapterus macrosoma) sebesar 48,6%, kembung (Rastrelliger spp.) 13,8%, dan selar kuning (Selaroides leptolepis) 8,1%. Tangkapan sampingan terdiri dari bawal (Parastromateus niger) 3,2%, cumi-cumi (Loligo spp.) 8,4%, dan tongkol (Euthynnus affinis) 5,9%.

Abstract

Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Nizam Zachman merupakan pelabuhan perikanan terbesar di Indonesia yang memiliki peran vital dalam bidang pengembangan dan distribusi hasil perikanan di Indonesia. Pelabuhan ini berada di Provinsi Jakarta dan alat tangkap yang paling dominan digunakan oleh nelayan adalah purse seine. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor produksi yang berpengaruh terhadap hasil tangkapan purse seine dan bagaimana bentuk hubungan antara faktor-faktor produksi tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey dengan pengamatan lansung di lapangan dan wawancara dengan pihak nelayan purse seine. Metode analisis yang digunakan yaitu uji asumsi klasik, analisis regresi berganda, uji F serta uji T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor produksi yang mempengaruhi hasil tangkapan Purse Seine di PPS Nizam Zachman Jakarta adalah ukuran kapal (X1), panjang jaring (X4), lebar jaring (X5), jumlah BBM (X6), dan lama melaut (X8). Hubungan antara faktor-faktor produksi hasil tangkapan pada alat tangkap purse seine di PPS Nizam Zachman Jakarta dapat dipresentasikan dalam model regresi berganda, yakni Y =-41686.282 + 1074.074 X1 -32.143 X2 + 384.893 X3 + 342.824 X4 + 638.306 X5 + .403 X6 – 760.506 X7 + 407.982 X8

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Februari s/d Maret 2024 di UPTD Pelabuhan Perikanan Wilayah I, Sumatera Barat. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya pemahaman terhadap komposisi tangkapan sebagai dasar pengelolaan perikanan yang berkelanjutan. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui komposisi tangkapan berdasarkan berat, jumlah individu, dan metode penangkapannya. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei dan dianalisis secara deskriptif dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Hasil menunjukkan total tangkapan nelayan dengan jaring apung mencapai 709,4 kg dan 2.981 ekor, terdiri dari 10 jenis ikan. Komposisi berdasarkan berat adalah 74,99% main catch, 24,99% bycatch, dan 0% discard; sedangkan berdasarkan jumlah individu, 82,99% main catch, 16,99% bycatch, dan 0% discard. Sebagian besar ikan tertangkap secara entangled, mengindikasikan jaring tidak terentang sempurna akibat ketiadaan pemberat dan tali ris bawah

Abstract

Sibolga Archipelago Fishing Port is one of the fishing ports that carry out export activities with destination countries including Thailand, Vietnam, Peru, and Ecuador. The products caught by the Sibolga Archipelago Fishing Port have not been exported to the European market due to regulations on fishery product export certification. These problems can be overcome by implementing the eco-fishing port concept at the Sibolga Archipelago Fishing Port. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the environmentally sound Sibolga Archipelago Fishing Port (ecoport) according to the ecoport standard formulation. The method used in this study is a survey method. Collecting data using a purposive sampling approach. Data analysis was carried out descriptively using standard eco-fishing port parameters which consisted of four aspects, namely the physical ecology of the port, the socio-economic impacts around the port, handling of caught commodities and monitoring of illegal fishing. The results showed that the physical and ecological aspects got a score of 2.66, the socio-economic impact aspect got a score of 2, the handling of caught commodities got a score of 2 and the illegal fishing aspect got a score of 3. The ecoport index analysis got a score of 2.5 which means that the Sibolga Archipelago Fishing Port has been can be called an ecoport.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the construction and design of dragon traps used by fishermen in Insit Village, Tebing Tinggi Barat Sub-district, Meranti Islands Regency, Riau Province. Dragon traps are passive and environmentally friendly fishing gear that have only been used since 2022, primarily targeting shrimp, with bycatch including fish and crabs. The research was conducted over two weeks from August 26 to September 9, 2024, using survey and field observation methods. Data were collected through direct measurements of the fishing gear, interviews with fishermen, and visual documentation. The results showed that the dragon traps have a total length of 15 meters, with the main structure consisting of 36 galvanized iron frames. The trap body is made of polyethene (PE) netting with a mesh size of 0.5 inches, measuring 40 cm in length, 45 cm in width, and 30 cm in height. It has 32 entry holes (ijep) arranged alternately. Other components include two catch-holding chambers measuring 50 cm in length, 38 cm in width, and 25 cm in height, PE binding ropes, and 5-meter-long stakes. The fishing location is in shallow, muddy waters with a depth of 2–3 meters and approximately 150 meters from the shoreline. During the study, the dragon traps caught 120 kg of white shrimp (Penaeus merguiensis) out of a total catch of 149 kg. This indicates that the bubu naga is quite effective in capturing shrimp as its main target species.

Abstract

African catfish are a species of fish commonly found in various aquatic environments. Fishermen employ diverse methods to catch fish in seas, rivers, and swamps, utilizing eco-friendly and non-eco-friendly tools. One such tool is electrofishing. Fish behavior is influenced by their ability to adapt to their environment. One observable aspect is the African catfish's swimming patterns and endurance in a research pond. This study was conducted in April 2024 at the Fishing Gear Materials Laboratory, Department of Aquatic Resource Utilization, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Riau. The research utilized an experimental method, with data collected directly in the Laboratory. African catfish were used as test subjects with a 12-volt electric fishing gear. The results showed that at a treatment distance of 30 cm, the fish required an average of 3,5 seconds to respond to the electric current. The use of electrofishing gear has been proven to cause negative physiological responses, including fainting, external injuries, and mucus release in African catfish, which has implications for the sustainability of the African catfish population. After electrofishing, the condition of the fish showed injuries and fin loss on their bodies, resulting in some fish dying during recovery, although the number of dead fish was fewer than the number of surviving fish
