Abstract

The background of this research was the low mathematic concept comprehension of the students; also students prefer to ask to their friends instead to ask to their teachers. The purpose of this research was to know the improvement of mathematic concept of the students with application of practice-rehearsal pairs type of active learning strategy in mathematics learning of grade VIII of MTsTI Batang Kabung Padang and to know whether students mathematic concept comprehension was better with the application of practice-rehearsal pairs type than students mathematic comprehension with application of conventional learning of grade VIII of MTsTI Batang Kabung Padang. The type of the research was experimental research, with random research planning toward the students. The population of the research was grade of MTsTI Batang Kabung students in academic year 2013/2014. The technique of sampling was random selection, and class VIIIc was chosen as experiment class and class VIIId as control class. The instrument of the research was final test of mathematic concept comprehension in form of essay with reliability was 0.92. The technique of data analysis was using test t one head with help of MINITAB. Based on the result of data analysis known that both sample distributed normally and homogeneity. The result of hypothesis resulting P-value was 0.044 which mean less than α = 0.05, so the research hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that students’ mathematic concept comprehension using practice-rehearsal type of active strategy was better than students’ mathematic concept comprehension than conventional learning with 95% level of trust.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the students comprehension of mathematical concepts in learning is low. This research aims to determine: 1) how the development of students comprehension of mathematical concepts using Reciprocal Teaching approach in learning mathematics with Quiz experimental class students in class XI SMKN 1  Koto Baru Kabupaten Dharmasraya and; 2) whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts by applying the Reciprocal Teaching approach with better Quiz comprehension of the mathematical concept of students with learning conventional in class XI SMKN 1 Koto Baru Kabupaten Dharmasraya. The research was an experiment with random design subject. The population in this research is the class XI students enrolled in the school year 2012/2013. Sampling technique is random. The instrument used in this research are quiz and final test in the form of essays. Technical analysis of the data used is the t because two samples are normally distributed and the data are not homogeneous. T test results obtained thitung = 3.17 and ttabel = 1.713 at α = 0.05, thitung> ttabel, it can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts using Reciprocal Teaching approach accompanied Quiz better than conventional learning at SMKN XI 1 Koto Baru Kabupaten Dharmasraya.

Abstract

This research is based by the lack of understanding of the mathematical concepts that still low, reading comprehension of student with subject matter, textbook owned does not used properly, and student lest to practice or given opportunity for deliver about their understanding with reading topic. This research is aimed at knowing wheather the understanding of the mathematics concept of the students who are treated by used Reciprocal Teaching approach is better than understanding of the mathematics concepts of the students with conventional teaching. This type of research is experimental. The population of research is student class VIII SMPN 1 Gunung Tuleh West Pasaman 2012/2013 academic year that consist of 5 class. The technik data collection have done is random sampling, the class had choosen VIII4 for ekspriment class and class VIII3 for control class. Instrumen that used of post test with indicator concept understanding. Hypothesis test result that gotten P-value is 0,007<a, so it means that hypothesis is accepted, consequently it can be concluded that the understanding of the mathematics concept of the students who are treated by used  Reciprocal Teaching approach is better than understanding of the mathematics concept of the students with conventional teaching class VIII SMPN 1 Gunung Tuleh Kabupaten West Pasaman.

Abstract

This research is lower of students’ understanding of mathematical concept  comprehension at eighth grade students of SMPN 1 west Pasaman and lack to given chance for approach their idea in learning process. One of step the problem by using type Index Card Match (ICM) strategy in learning mathematics. So this research is aim to know student’s understanding of mathematical by using Type Index Card Match (ICM) Strategy was better than conventional learning toward student’s at eighth grade SMPN 1 Sungai Aur west Pasaman. Population in this research is the eight class student of SMPN 1 Sungai Aur west Pasaman academic year of 2012/2013. The sample is taken randomly. The experiment class is VIII5 and the control class VIII1. The instrument in this research is mathematical concept understanding test like esay. Data by analysis with using test normality, test homogeneity and t-test. The researcher to analyse the data, the researcher got the result post test which using the students understanding of mathematical concept the experiment class is 73,62 and the control class is 63,61. Hypothesis test is using MINITAB with t-test, got probabilitas = 0,002 is smaller than  0,05. Then it can be concluded that student’s understanding of mathematical concept using active learning type Index Card Match (ICM) strategy is be better than conventional learning toward students’ at eighth grade SMPN 1 Sungai Aur west Pasaman.

Abstract

Studying process which is taken place at SMPN 2 Sungai Beremas is tending to one way process, teacher is a centrall of all learning process. Teachers dominate all activities at class, and still many students cheat when doing exercise. This is why hasn’t understanding mathematic concept well, proved by so many students got low mart. So this research is aim to know student’s understanding of mathematical concept by using cooperative learning types Student Teams Achievem Division (STAD) with student work sheets is better than cooventional ways. The kind of research is experimental research. the population in this research is the eight class student of SMPN 2 Sungai Beremas academic year of 2013/2014. The sample is taken randomly, the experiment class is VIIIB and the control class is VIIIA. The instruments in this research is mathematical concept understanding test like essay. The result of research shows that students understanding of mathematical concept using cooperative learning types Student Teams Achievem Division (STAD) with student work sheets is better than conventional ways. Hypotesis test is using minitab with t-test, obtained P-value = 0,024  = 0,05 whichis specified, then it can be concluded that student’s understanding of mathematical concept using cooperative learning Student Teams Achievem Division (STAD) with student work sheets is better than conventional ways that is used in control class.

Abstract

The research is based on the less of students understanding of mathematical concepts and students ashame and did not want to ask question about the material they did not understand yet. The purpose of this research is to know whether the students understanding of mathematical concepts by using active learning types Learning Starts With a Question is better than the students mathematical concept that using conventional learning strategy. The kind of this research is experimental research, with random designtoward the subject of research. The population of this research is students of VII grade of MTsN Palangki in 2012-2013 academic year. The technique of sampling is doing by using random sampling, that was chosen as sample class is VII2 as experiment class and VII3 as control class. The instrument that is used in this research is post test of students understanding of mathematical concept. The test form that is used is essays with the reability of the test 0,89. The technique of data analisys is used test T by using MINITAB software. Based on the data analisys, it was gotten P-value is 0,00 it means smaller than  = 0,05 , so that the hypothesis of this research is accepted so it can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concept by using active learning type Learning Starts With a Question is better than the students understanding of mathematical concept that is using conventional learning strategy of VII grade students of MTsN Palangki  in 2012-2013 academic year.

Abstract

The research is introduced by the lack of the students understanding of mathematical concept and students prefer to copy paste their friends exercise without paying attention it is right or wrong. This research is aimed to know the students understanding of mathematicalconcept by using learning model of Cooperative type Numbered Heads with LKS better than the students understanding concept by using conventional learning at class IX SMP PERTI Padang. The type of this research is experiment. Population in this research is students class IX SMP PERTI Padang who registered in academic year 2013/2014 that consists of three class. The tecgnique of sampling is random and selected class IX.1 as an experimental class and class IX.2 as control class. Insrument used was final test contain mathematical concept umderstanding indicators in the from of essay. Technique of data analysis used was Mann-Withney test with MINITAB sofware. Based on the hypothesis obtained P-value = 0,003, because p-less than α = 0,05 so the hypotesisis accepted the students understanding of mathematical concept by using Cooperative type Numbered Heads learning with LKS is better than students understanding mathematical concept by using conventional learning at class IX SMP PERTI Padang.

Abstract

ABSTRACT         This research is motivated by the understanding of the mathematical concept of class VIII SMP 2 Pasaman low . It is estimated by the learning centered on the teachers and students are afraid to ask or an opinion on the matter is not understood . This study aims to describe the development of students understanding of mathematical concepts and determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts using Active Learning Model Type And Explaining Student Facilitator better understanding of mathematical concepts students with learning conventional SMP 2 class VIII student Pasaman academic year 2013/2014. This research is an experimental study . The study population was all students of class VIII SMP 2 Pasaman enrolled in the school year 2013/2014 . The samples were VIII5 grade students as the experimental class and the control class VIII6 . The research instrument is an essay test , Data analysis was performed with the help of MINITAB obtained P - value = 0.043 is less than . Thus , it can be concluded that overall progress indicator increased student understanding of mathematical concepts , and understanding of mathematical concepts that students use Active Learning Model Type And Explaining Student Facilitator better than conventional learning .

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe background of this research by understanding the concept of mathematical student in learning mathematics is still low and the lack of cooperation among students in understanding the material provided. The purpose of this study was determine whether students understanding of mathematical concept with application of cooperative learning student achievement team division (STAD) better than student understanding of mathematical concept with conventional learning. This type research is experimental  conducted with the subject randomized study design.  Instrument used in the study is the final test in the form of essays. With the realibity test 0,826. Based on the analysis of data obtained t, 4,18 ≥ 1,7127 then reject H0 with H1 received. It can be concluded that the students understanding of matematics concepts with the implementation of cooperative learning student team achievement division (STAD) better than students understanding of mathematical concepts with convensional learning on students class IX SMPN 1 Lubuk Sikaping

Abstract

 ABSTRACT           This research bagkground by mathematics learns student result at SMPN 14 Padang still lower. This represent one of the factor that able to indicate that students domination to understanding of mathematical concept also still lower. This research type is experiment research, with research design random to subject. Population in this research is VIII class student in the year of Lesson 2013 / 2014. Intake of sample technique is random, the chosen sample class is VIII.3 class is experiment and VIII.7 class as control class. Instrument which is used in this research is final learn test in the form of essay with problem reliability 0,80. Data analyze technique that used is t test one party with MINITAB program. Pursuant to result of data analysis is obtained mean of result of learning experiment class student is 70,28, higher if compared to class control that is 59,75. The hypotesis examination use MINITAB program with t test, is obtained P-Value = 0,029 < is specified that is 0,05. So, can be concluded that understanding of mathematical concept studen applying of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperatif studying better than the understanding of mathematical concept control class student with convensional study at VIII Class SMPN 14 Padang at trust level 95% (  = 0,05).
