Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted based on the student’s understanding on mathematics concept was still low and the low curiosity of student to the subject material. This research was aimed at revealing wheather the use of Learning Starts With A Question technique could give a better effect on the student’s understanding on mathematics concept than conventional learning in class VII SMPN 5 Kota Solok. This was an experimental research which used random desain toward  subject. The instrument of the research was test on mathematics concept. The data then was the perceived data analysis the perceived data analysis. Based on the  data analysis, it was revealed that the sample was distributed normally and had homogeny variant. The result of hypothesis test showed that p-value (0,023) was smaller than indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. Hence, it was concluded that the application of Learning Starts With A Question technique could improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of the conventional learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by students’ comprehensian of mathematical concept that stiil low and students’ participate in learning as less. The purpose of this research is to determine whether students’ comprehensian of mathematical concept by implementing active learning type index card match is better than students’ comprehension of mathematical concept by implementing conventional learning in class X SMAN 15 Padang school year 2013/2014. This was an experiment research. Sampling was done randomly, which was selected X3 as experiment class and X5 as control class. The instrument used is final test that contains an indicator of comprehension concept with reliability test is . The data was analyzed by using to test with MINITAB software. Based on the result of data analysis, it was revealed that the sample has normally distributed and homogeneus with α = 0,05. Hypothesis test result obtained that P-value = 0,031 is smaller than α = 0,05, so hypothesis was received. It can be conclude that students’ comprehension of mathematical concept by implementing active learning type index card match is better than student comprehension of mathematical concept by implementing conventional learning in class X SMAN 15 Padang

Abstract

                                                   ABSTRACT This  research was carried out due to the students’ low understanding on mathematics concept. This research was designed for revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Study Group active learning type was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VII of SMPN 1 Hiliran Gumanti. This was an experimental research. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that the two sample classes were normally distributed and homogenous. In addition, the result of t-test showed that the value of tcalculated (3,82) was higher than ttable (1,645) indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. Hence, it was concluded that he mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Study Group active learning type was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VII of SMPN 1 Hiliran Gumanti.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the lack of results of learning mathematics class XI IPS Padang SMAN 14 school year 2013/2014. This problem can be seen from the study of mathematics is still focused on teacher, students just listen and record the subject matter without understanding the material, students are less motivated to learn mathematics, comprehension of the concept of mathematical ability of students is still low, and equitable distribution of responsibility in the discussion is still less. This study aims to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning techniques ‘Kancing Gemerincing’ with Student Worksheet (LKS) is better than the students comprehension of concepts with conventional learning in social studies class XI student of SMAN 14 Padang. This research is a research experiment. The population in this study were all students of class XI social SMAN 14 Padang and who is enrolled in the school year 2013/2014. The sampling technique is random sampling, XI IPS 3 selected as the experimental class and  XI IPS 4 as the control class. The instrument used  in this research is the final test study with reliability 0.92. Based on the analysis of data, average student learning outcomes experimental class is 74.88 with standard deviation 11.14 and the average value of the control class is 54.83 with a standard deviation  22.64. Because the two classes are normally distributed sample is not homogeneous but the data was analyzed by statistical test  where  = 3.9081 so that the research hypothesis is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning techniques ‘Kancing Gemerincing’ with Student Worksheet (LKS) better comprehension of the concept of the conventional learning on students a class XI IPS student of SMA Negeri 14 Padang at the level of 95%.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe background reason of this research is the understanding of mathematical concept that still low and the students are still irresponsible for the assignment given by the teacher. The aim of this research is to know whether the understanding of the mathematical concept of the student will be better if cooperative learning method TGT is applied rather than  the conventional way to the 9th grade students of MTsN Tarusan School year 2013/2014. The type of this research is experimental research, with random research design to subject. The instrument used for this research is the mathematical concept quiz and test. Based on the test result, its shown that one of the sample class is not normally distributed. Data analysis was done by using Mann-U Whitney test with the help of minitab. The result of the hypothesis test is p-value=0.0073. it is seen that the p-value < α, then the hypothesis of the research is acceptable. So it is concluded that the understanding of the mathematical concept of the student will be better by using the cooperative learning method TGT rather than the conventional way of 9th grade students of MTsN Tarusan.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was done based on the ract which indicated the low students ability in solving mathematic questions. Then,the students did not want to share each other. The purpose of this research was to know whether the VIII grade students of SMPN 2 East Pasaman Rao treated by Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) technique and students worksheet have better mathematic problem solving than those who are treated by conventional learning. This was an experimental reserach which used random sampling.The instrument was problem solving test. The hypothesis was tested by one tailed test by using MINITAB.  Hipotesis test result obtained p-value = 0,000. It was found that the hypothesis was accepted. Thus,it can be concluded that the students treated by Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) and students worksheet had better mathematic problem solving than those who treated the conventional learning.

Abstract

                                                          ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research was to reveal whether the  by the mathematics understanding of the students taught by Practice Rehearsal Pairs active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research. The population of this research was the students in class VIII of SMPN 1 Sipora Kabupaten Kepulauan Mentawai registered in academic year 2013/2014. The instrument of the research was a test  whose reliability 0,847. Based on the result of data analysis it was figured out that the average score of the students’ conceptual  understanding in the experimental class was 75,80 and in the control class was 64,98. The result of hypothesis test showed that P-value (0,005) was smaller α = 0,05, therefore it was concluded that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Practice Rehearsal Pairs active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning students in classVIII  SMPN 1 Sipora Kabupaten Kepulauan Mentawai.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT This research was designed for revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Index Card Match active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The population of this research was the student in class IX of MTsN Lumpo registered in academic year 2013/2014. The instrument of the research was an essay  posttest whose reliability was 0,9420. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that the average score of the students in the experimental class was 73,29 and in the control class was 59,29. In addition, the result of t-test indicated that P-value 0,305 was smaller than α = 0,05. Hence , it was concluded that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Index Card Match active learning strategy was better than that of students by using conventional learning in class IX MTsN Lumpo on level of significance 95%.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research is motivated by the lack of understanding mathematical concepts class VIII SMPN 1 Kecamatan Pangkalan Koto Baru. Because learning is still centered on the teachers and students still lack understanding of concepts in mathematics . One method used to overcome this problem by applying the technique of cooperative learning model two stay two stray in learning . The aims of this research  is to know the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts with the implementation of cooperative learning model two stay two stray technique better than student’s understanding of the mathematical concepts using conventional learning in class VIII SMPN1 Kecamatan Pangkalan Koto Baru academic year 2013/2014 . This research is an experimental study , with a random design on the subject . The population in this research was students of class VIII SMP SMP 1 Kecamatan Koto Baru academic year 2013/20143 . The samples in this reseacrh is randomly technique . Selected VIII.1 as experimental class and VIII.2 as control class. Instrument in this study is the final test in the form of essays . Data were analyzed using the normality test, homogeneity test and t test . Hypothesis test using t-test of the party with the help of software MINITAB , obtained P -value of 0.003 is less than α = 0.05 , so it can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning model two stay two stray technique is better than student’s understanding mathematical concepts  with conventional learning in class VIII SMPN1 Kecamatan Pangkalan Koto Baru the level of 95 %.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted based on the fact indicating that the students understanding on mathematic concept was still low, the smart students dominate the learning process while the low level of students don’t have opportunity to speak and giving argument. The aim of this research was to determine whether students understanding on mathematic concept by implementing cooperative learning technique Button Clatter is better than the students understanding on mathematic concept with conventional learning. This was an experimental research. The sampling technique is total sampling. XI IPS 2 selected as the experimental class and  the class as a class XI IPS 1 control. The instruments of the research was final test study with reliability 0,89. Based on the analysis of date, average valueof the experimental class is 71,82 with standard devition 18,37 and the average value of the control class is 53,82 with standard deviation 21,45. P-Value (0,001) which was smaller than α, Thus it was concluded that the student’s understanding on mathematic concept by implementing cooperative learning technique Button Clatter better then that of the conventional learning in class XI IPS MAN Palangki.
