Abstract

MnxFe3-xO4-Poly(m-ABS) nanocomposite has been successfully synthesized by in-situ polymerization. In the formation of MnxFe3-xO4-Poly(m-ABS) nanocomposites, FeCl synthesized from iron sand acts as an oxidant and m-aminobenzenesulfonic acid (m-ABS) as a monomer. Structural characterization has been successfully carried out using XRD, FTIR, and SEM. XRD test results show that the MnxFe3-xO4-Poly(m-ABS) nanocomposite has a particle size of about 10.62 nm. The appearance of peaks (111) and (620) with low intensity indicated the presence of poly(m-ABS). This low intensity was probably caused by the amorphous character of polyaniline and its derivatives. The FTIR results show the appearance of asymmetrical and symmetrical S=O strains, S-O, and C-S strains are the main characteristics of poly(m-ABS) which indicate the success of monomer polymerization. The results of the SEM test show that circular shapes dominate the particles with varying sizes with an average size of 42 nm. This result is different from the XRD results because SEM can only measure the surface of the particles, so the resulting size tends to be larger. Based on the study of the structure obtained shows that the MnxFe3-xO4-Poly(m-ABS) nanocomposite has the potential to be applied to energy conversion devices.DOI: 10.17977/um024v7i12022p016

Abstract

This study aims to obtain an instrument of teacher beliefs about learning and teaching in hybrid learning in the post-COVID-19 (New Normal) era. In addition to producing a questionnaire instrument, this study looks for the relationship of belief to learning and learning with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The research subjects were selected through a random sampling technique (through a lottery) by several teachers/prospective teachers of physics education at schools and in higher education institutions. Structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis was performed using AMOSS v26 using a strong categorical data estimator. The SEM results show the teaching and learning conceptions questionnaire in the marginal fit category (RMSEA) poor fit (NFI, RFI, IFI, TLI, and CGI), in addition, it is shown that the indicators have good internal consistency but lack formation in the latent variance variable. Meanwhile, the results of the SEM Epistemological Beliefs Questionnaire are in the poor fit category, both seen from the RMSEA and NFI, RFI, IFI, TLI, and CGI. Indicators of Fixed ability, learning effort, Authority, and Certainty Knowledge have good internal consistency, while Authority internal consistency is not good. The variance on the Epistemological belief questionnaire extracted from the indicators is greater for the formation of latent variables. Keywords: Adaption, Epistemological belief about teaching-learning questionnaire, Preservice physics teacherDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpf.v10.n1.202213

Abstract

Single bulb garlic (SBG) has the potential as an immunomodulator; however, it has low solubility and bioavailability. A lipid-based delivery system, that is, the self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS), offers a novel opportunity in drug delivery. SBG can be a suitable candidate for SNEDDS development. This research aims to describe the physical stability, toxicity test of the SNEDDS, and SNEDDS SBG potential as antiinflammation in 3T3-L1 cells. The SNEDDS is made with various ratios of concentrations of carrier oil, surfactants, and cosurfactants, namely, 0.50: 3.45: 0.96, and added with SBG extract (SBGE) of 20 mg/mL. The results of the response test of SNEDDS SBGE formulation indicate an average and standard deviation of emulsification time of 16.38±3.01 (second), pH 7.21±0.08, and transmittance of 98.40±0.23(%). The average nanoemulsion size is 14.333±0.416 nm, polydispersion index of 0.213±0.056, and zeta potential of -14.67±0.72 mV. The results of the physical stability test indicate no segregation, deposition, cracking, or creaming in all nanoemulsion samples and SNEDDS SBG. The MTT test in a dose of 62.5, 125, 250, 500, 100, 2000, and 4000 µg/mL suggests that the highest viability of the 3T3-L1 cells is at a dose of 2000 µg/mL, which is 97.83%±1.55%. Therefore, SNEDDS SBGE can be a potential candidate for oral preparation by increasing bioavailability and reducing toxicity in the 3T3-L1 cells. An antiinflammatory test on the TNF-???? and IL-1???? expressions influences the 3T3-L1 cells. the SNEDDS of SBGE has the potential to reduce the expression of TNF-???? and IL-1???? and increase IL-10 expression in the methylglyoxal-induced 3T3-L1 cells.

Abstract

Fluid dynamics is the basic knowledge of technology development that is important to be mastered, but students still have difficulties with it. This research aims to determine the students’ increased conceptual mastery and problem-solving skills using e-module. The method of this study uses the quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test control group research design. Each student is given questions on pre-test and post-test conceptual mastery in multiple-choice and problem-solving skills in the form of descriptions. Student answers were analyzed with descriptive statistics, the Wilcoxon, and the n-gain tests. After the e-module was implemented, the increase in conceptual mastery of the experimental class was higher than the control class, with an n-gain value of 0.69 (moderate) for the experimental class and 0.46 (moderate) for the control class. The increase in the problem-solving skill of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class, with an n-gain value of 0.59 (intermediate) for the experimental class and 0.28 for the control class (novice). So, this e-module can improve students' conceptual mastery and problem-solving skills. The reason is caused by the learning process of experimental students who can learn actively, independently, intensively, and repeatedly using the e-module for conceptual mastering by the stages of the scientific approach through role-playing.

Abstract

A systematic study on the development of the assessment instrument of the concept of kinematics which is one of the basic concepts of physics has not yet been conducted. This systematic study reported the characteristics, quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the instrument assessment regarding the concept of kinematics. This systematic review method has used a systematic approach based on the practical guidelines of systematic reviews by Petticrew and Roberts and has used PRISMA diagrams for the process of searching and selecting articles, who reviewed 12 articles published between 1985 and 2021. The research findings show that the instrument of concept mastery of kinematics using multiple-choice formats, while others combine the true-false and multiple-choice formats. Almost all instruments of mastery of the concept of widely used kinematics have reported validity assessment (content validity, construct validity) and internal consistency reliability. However, predictive validity, discriminatory validity, and temporal stability reliability have not been reported. Other results indicate that the development of further assessments must pay attention to five important aspects: the validity and reliability of instruments, the scopes and specificity of the concept of kinematics, the conformity with the intellectual level of students, the effectiveness and efficiency of instrument assessment, and the fulfillment of research gaps. This study can help educators and researchers choose and develop an appropriate instrument assessment to reveal students’ understanding of the concept of kinematics.

Abstract

This comprehensive investigation delves into the impact of integrating e-scaffolding prompting questions into online inquiry learning on students' problem-solving skills (PSS). With an explanatory design and a mixed-methods approach, the study focuses on XI-MIPA class students at MAN 1 Kediri City during the academic year 2022-2023. Utilizing meticulously crafted learning instruments, five problem-solving skills questions, and precise interview guidelines, the research employs triangulation through pre-tests, post-tests, and in-depth interviews. Quantitative data undergoes rigorous scrutiny via Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). The primary objective is to unveil the discernible influence of online inquiry learning complemented by e-scaffolding on the nuanced domain of PSS. Employing quasi-experimental methodologies, the study systematically compares a class engaged in conventional direct learning with one immersed in the intricacies of online inquiry learning. ANCOVA results decisively highlight a statistically significant disparity in PSS, with the online inquiry learning cohort consistently outperforming the control group. The granular analysis extends to specific problem-solving processes, delineating stages like problem identification, physics-rooted strategic planning, application of problem-solving strategies, mathematical procedures, and critical evaluation. The experimental cohort consistently surpasses the control group across these facets, affirming the pronounced efficacy of online inquiry learning enhanced by e-scaffolding. Qualitative insights from meticulously structured interviews corroborate quantitative findings, revealing a methodical and structured problem-solving approach within the experimental group. A discernable emphasis on conceptual reasoning emerges, reflective of a profound understanding nurtured by the synergistic amalgamation of online inquiry learning and e-scaffolding. The study conclusively advocates for the widespread implementation of this pedagogical framework as a transformative tool to enhance PSS across diverse physics topics. The implications extend to providing a robust foundation for future scholarly investigations, fortified by empirical evidence supporting the affirmative impact of online inquiry learning with e-scaffolding on students' problem-solving skills in physics education.DOI: 10.17977/jps.v11i22023p045
