Abstract

This study aims to analyze how teachers in rural schools adapt to various limitations and how work culture is formed under such conditions. The method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design, through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of teachers in several rural schools. The results show that limitations in infrastructure, access to technology, and high workload encourage teachers to develop adaptive strategies, such as informal collaboration, innovation in learning based on local resources, and increased role flexibility. The work culture that emerges tends to emphasize solidarity, creativity, and resilience. The implications of this study highlight the importance of more contextual policy support, training improvement based on local needs, and the provision of adequate facilities to strengthen the professionalism and well-being of teachers in rural areas.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of implementing gamification using Duolingo for Schools on students' motivation to learn English at an Islamic elementary school. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study design, involving students, teachers, class guardians, and the head of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Az-Zainiyah II. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, which were then analyzed using data triangulation techniques to ensure the validity of the findings. The results show that the use of Duolingo for Schools significantly increases students' learning motivation, reflected in heightened interest, focus, enthusiasm, and active participation in class. Teachers and the head of the school assessed that this method makes learning more interactive, enjoyable, and relevant to the characteristics of the digital generation. The study concludes that gamification strategies through Duolingo for Schools are effective in boosting learning motivation.

Abstract

The development of digital technology demands innovation in reading instruction at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, as conventional methods often cause students to become bored quickly and lack active engagement. The low reading ability at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Mun’im indicates the need for an interactive and contextual digital phonics ecosystem solution. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Digital Phonics Ecosystem assisted by Wordwall media in early reading learning, analyzing its contribution to improving student literacy. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a case study type, while the data collection techniques included observation of learning activities, interviews with teachers, photo documentation, and early reading tests to measure students’ time efficiency and accuracy. The research steps included mapping the initial learning conditions, designing phonics-based Wordwall media, implementation in grade II, and analysis of student learning outcomes. The results showed a significant improvement in early reading skills marked by a decrease in the average reading time from 10 minutes to 6 minutes and all students being able to answer questions correctly. The findings also showed student enthusiasm and collaboration during learning, while the researcher’s assistance played a role in ensuring the use of digital media and the teacher’s role in adjusting strategies to student abilities. The success of the Digital Phonics Ecosystem depends not only on technology but also on the synergy between teacher guidance and researcher support. This study affirms the potential of the Digital Phonics Ecosystem as an interactive and contextual digital-based phonics learning model to improve reading literacy in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.
