Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Along with technological advances in the digital era, cybersecurity has become a serious challenge faced by various groups, including Islamic boarding schools. As young generations actively engage with social media, digital applications, and online services, santri are vulnerable to cyber threats such as phishing, malware, and identity theft. The low levels of digital literacy and cybersecurity technical skills make this group urgently in need of specialized training. This community service program aims to improve santri's awareness and skills in recognizing, preventing, and responding to cyber threats. The method applied was a participatory training approach that included interactive lectures, group discussions, real-life threat simulations, and hands-on practice with digital security technologies. The training results indicated significant improvement in santri's understanding and skills in cybersecurity, as evidenced by pre- and posttest score comparisons and increased confidence in addressing potential threats. In addition, a cyber-aware community was established within the pesantren environment, serving as agents of change in disseminating knowledge and skills to other santri. In conclusion, this training not only enhanced santri's digital literacy but also contributed to the development of a stronger culture of cybersecurity in the pesantren environment. In the future, similar activities are recommended to be developed continuously and expanded in scope to achieve broader benefits.

Abstract

Pesantren as a traditional Islamic educational institution in Indonesia, plays a strategic role in shaping the character and intellectual development of its students (santri). However, the dynamics of globalization and advancements in digital technology demand that pesantren innovate their learning models to remain relevant to contemporary needs. The integration of digital technology in pesantren education has become an imperative to improve educational quality, broaden access to learning resources, and strengthen the integration between Islamic values and 21st-century skills. This study aims to explore the role of digital technology in enhancing the quality of learning in pesantren, which have long been known for their conventional teaching methods. The use of digital tools and platforms such as e-learning, educational apps, and social media has demonstrated significant potential in enriching students' learning experiences. This research employs a qualitative approach using case studies of several pesantren that have adopted digital technologies in their learning systems. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis related to the learning process. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns in technology utilization, supporting and inhibiting factors, and its impact on the learning process and outcomes. The findings indicate that digital technology integration enhances student engagement, facilitates access to learning materials, and enriches teaching methods. In conclusion, digitalization in pesantren education offers great potential to improve learning quality, provided it remains aligned with Islamic values and local cultural contexts.

Abstract

This study examines the use of animation-based interactive multimedia in classroom learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah and its contribution to students’ learning engagement and conceptual understanding. The research employed a qualitative case study design at MI Nurul Mun’im. The primary participants were 20 students who experienced classroom learning through animation-based interactive multimedia, while the classroom teacher served as a supporting informant. Data were collected through classroom observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show four main patterns. First, the use of animation-based multimedia increased students’ interest in learning because lessons were perceived as more attractive and less monotonous. Second, it strengthened classroom engagement, as students became more active in asking questions, responding to the teacher, and participating in guided activities. Third, the media helped students understand lesson content more easily because visual movement, sound, and sequence made abstract material more concrete. Fourth, it supported early information literacy, especially in following visual instructions, recognizing symbols, and identifying simple digital information. The study concludes that animation-based interactive multimedia contributes to a more active, enjoyable, and student-centered learning environment in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Theoretically, the study reinforces the relevance of multimedia learning for Islamic primary education. In practice, it underscores the importance of teachers’ capacity to select and organize digital media appropriate to young learners’ developmental characteristics.

Abstract

This study uses a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design to examine how the holistic well-being learning model was developed and implemented to improve the mental well-being of early childhood children at MI Nurul Mun'im. After collecting data through participant observation, documentation, and semi-structured interviews, the Miles and Huberman interactive model was used to analyze it. The results show that the holistic well-being learning model combines cognitive, social-emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects in learning planning and practice. It is evident that a dialogic approach, warm teacher-child relationships, and reflective activities such as morning circles and role-playing improve children's emotional regulation, empathy, and self-confidence. Changes in classroom interactions that are more inclusive and supportive also indicate a shift in learning culture from an instructional pattern to a humanistic approach. The results indicate that mental well-being is the foundation of the early childhood learning process and not an additional component. This model helps teachers create integrated learning that focuses on the balance of children's development and psychological health in a sustainable manner.
