Abstract

Indonesia, located at the meeting point of three active pelates, is an earthquake-prone country, including Jember Regency which is close to the source of the Indo-Australian Pelate subduction earthquake. This condition requires building planning that is able to withstand earthquake loads in accordance with applicable earthquake resistance standards. One method used to weaken the resistance of structures to earthquakes is pushover analysis, which aims to determine the maximum force, freezing, and collapse patterns in structures due to earthquake loads. This study focuses on analyzing the irregularities of the horizontal and vertical structures of the Integrated Agribusiness Education Building of the Jember State Polytechnic using SAP2000 v22 software, which refers to the provisions of SNI 1726: 2019. The method used is quantitative analysis to transmit the performance of earthquake-resistant building structures. SAP2000 allows statistical, dynamic, linear, and nonlinear analysis to ensure structural resistance to earthquake loads, as well as identify important components that require special attention to stability. The analysis results show the presence of horizontal irregularities type 2 on the roof floor due to changes in lateral stiffness, as well as vertical irregularities type 2 (mass) due to the effective mass exceeding 150% of the floor below. Pushover analysis indicates the potential for local collapse in the ground floor columns, but the structure remains stable with roof drifts in the Damage Control category. This indicates that the building remains safe to use after the earthquake.

Abstract

Electronic Nose system to optimize fishing vessel engine maintenance through in situ oil quality monitoring. This system integrates four gas sensors (TGS 813, TGS 822, TGS 2600, TGS 2602) with a DC pump and Arduino Uno, enabling early detection of piston ring damage without disassembling the engine. It detects volatile compounds in the oil, such as heavy metals and acidic substances caused by piston friction, using the iontophoresis method.Sensor readings for normal piston rings are: TGS2600 (410–600 mV), TGS2602 (200–210 mV), TGS813 (55–60 mV), TGS822 (70–110 mV); for worn rings: TGS2600 (540–730 mV), TGS2602 (330–350 mV), TGS813 (100–107 mV), TGS822 (90–150 mV); and for scratched rings: TGS2600 (480–690 mV), TGS2602 (220–245 mV), TGS813 (80–90 mV), TGS822 (100–200 mV).With real-time damage detection, this technology reduces repair time, cuts operational costs, and extends engine life. Additionally, it supports lower carbon emissions and oil waste, contributing to environmental sustainability. The adoption of Nautical Guardian is expected to improve the productivity and income of fishermen, particularly in Kronjo Fishing Village, Tangerang City

Abstract

This study investigates the transformative potential of blockchain-enabled information systems for transparent greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting in maritime training organizations, addressing critical gaps in regulatory compliance and environmental accountability. Through qualitative thematic analysis of in-depth interviews with five maritime education professionals, this research examines how distributed ledger technology can revolutionize compliance with emerging EU regulations, including FuelEU Maritime directives and EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) requirements, alongside International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards. The study reveals that blockchain technology offers unprecedented solutions to longstanding challenges in maritime education systems, particularly in transparency, verification accuracy, and cross-organizational interoperability. Key findings highlight the technology's capacity to enable smart contract automation for real-time compliance monitoring, create immutable credentialing systems that enhance trust among stakeholders, and establish secure, tamper-proof records of seafarer competency development and environmental certification processes. Results demonstrate that blockchain-based systems can significantly strengthen the integrity of maritime training records while streamlining regulatory reporting processes.
