Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work environment and interpersonal communication on employee morale at SPBE PT Elnusa Petrofin Bima. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The population consists of all 39 employees of SPBE PT Elnusa Petrofin Bima, and the entire population was taken as the sample using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, literature study, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-test, and f-test. The results show that: (1) the work environment does not have a significant effect on employee morale; (2) interpersonal communication has a significant effect on employee morale; and (3) work environment and interpersonal communication simultaneously have a significant effect on employee morale. Thus, interpersonal communication is the dominant factor in improving employee morale at SPBE PT Elnusa Petrofin Bima.

Abstract

Abstract

Coastal upwelling play an important role in biological productivity and the carbon cycle in the ocean. This research aimed to examine the phenomenon of coastal upwelling that occur in the coastal waters north of Papua continent under the influence of Westerly Wind Burst(WWB) prior to the development of El Nino in the Pacific. Data consisted of sea surface temperature, vertical oceanic temperature, ocean color satellite image, wind stress and vector wind speed image, sea surface high, and Nino 3.4 index. Coastal upwelling events in the northern coastal waters of Papua continent occurred in response to westerly winds and westerly wind burst (WWBs) during December to March characterizing by low sea surface temperature (SST) (25 - 28ï‚°C), negative sea surface high deviation and phytoplankton blooming, except during pre-development of the El Nino 2006/2007 where weak upwelling followed by positive sea surface high deviation. Strong coastal upwelling occurred during two WWBs in December and March1996/1997 with maximum wind speed in March produced a strong El Nino 1997/1998. Upwelling generally occurred along coastal waters of Jayapura to Papua New Guinea with more intensive in coastal waters north of Papua New Guinea indicated by Ekman transport and Ekman layer depth maximum.

Abstract

Accurate fish school identification is one of the crucial pieces of information for fish stock assessment. The fish stock assessment, in turn, is used as a basis for fisheries management action plan. In this paper, we discuss the development and application of acoustic descriptor (AD) and artificial neural networks (ANN) technique for fish school identification. Data (echogram) was obtained from the acoustic survey conducted in November 2000 in the Bali Strait, using SIMRAD EK500 split-beam acoustic system. In this preliminary study, the usage of AD is confined to the geometrical properties (area, perimeter, height, length, elongation, circularity, rectangular, and fractal dimension) of the echogram or acoustic backscattering images, while the ANN used back-propagation technique and a sigmoid activation function to transform the input to output. The results show that the accuracy of identifying fish school for various ANN learning rate value is about 73.3%. We observed that the school of Lemuru Sardinella lemuru, which is dominant in the Strait of Bali during the time of the survey, takes elongated geometrical formation and occupied particular water depth. Future study will incorporate the more complete set of AD, for example by employing the energetic dimension, to improve the accuracy of the school identification.

Abstract

Pratama clinics, as first-level healthcare facilities, play a crucial role in providing healthcare services to the community and are also subject to tax obligations for their business activities. However, many clinics still lack a thorough understanding of Value Added Tax (VAT) and Income Tax (PPh) provisions for their transactions, particularly regarding the tax treatment of medical services, drug sales, and tax withholding and reporting obligations. This Community Service activity aims to improve Harapan Jaya Pratama Clinic's tax understanding and compliance through outreach and mentoring on VAT and PPh for clinic transactions. The implementation method includes outreach on relevant tax regulations, training in tax accounting-based transaction recording, and mentoring in identifying taxable objects, calculating, depositing, and reporting VAT and PPh in accordance with applicable regulations. The expected outcomes of this activity are increased tax literacy and awareness among clinic managers, more orderly transaction recording, and increased compliance of Harapan Jaya Pratama Clinic in fulfilling its tax obligations. This activity is expected to support better and more sustainable clinic financial governance.
