Abstract

The case of sexual harassment involving women as victims can be seen from the news in the news media lately is quite shocking, a number of female finalists of Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 came to Polda Metro Jaya to file a report about the alleged harassment of her without clothes. The purpose of this research is to uncover ideology in women's language towards alleged sexual harassment in beauty pageants. In accordance with these objectives, qualitative descriptive is used as an approach to this research. The data of this research is in the form of lingual features obtained during online netnographic observation of participants on Instagram belonging to the finalists of Miss Universe Indonesia (MUID) 2023, peagent portal, and Yayasan Puteri Indonesia. The data were collected using Kozinets' (2010) netnography procedure, which is a form of adoption of ethnographic techniques in the realm of cyberspace. Online netnography observations in this study were conducted through device screens and laptops observing the status uploaded on instgram accounts. To analyze the data, Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis model is used, namely description, interpretation, and explanation. The findings of this research are the existence of ideological manifestations, namely (1) ideology 1: "fighting for women's rights in beauty contests", (2) ideology II: "feeling what harassed women feel", (3) ideology III: "trusting the law in upholding justice for victims", and (4) ideology IV: "erasing the negative stigma of society towards beauty pageants". The conclusion of this study is that women choose and utilize certain lingual forms and ignore other forms, namely institutional processes and sociocultural processes.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out (1) semantic studies and (2) pragmatic studies in the utterances of @emyaghnia's post upload comments. Researchers used a qualitative description type of research in this study. The upload of @emyaghnia's Instagram post is the source of data in this study. The data used in this study are in the form of screenshots of @emyaghnia's Instagram post upload comments. Data collection researchers use free listening techniques and record in this study as an instrument in this study, the data analysis technique used in this study is data reduction, data presentation and the last step is conclusion drawing. Based on the results of data analysis found by researchers, it can be concluded into two. First, the form of lexical and grammatical meaning in the comments of @emyaghnia's posts. The second data type of illocutionary speech acts found is expressive, and declarative. With this research, researchers can expand their understanding of semantics and pragmatics more deeply.

Abstract

Improper meaning of "dan/atau" in Indonesian laws and regulations will cause problems of meaning and implementation in practice. The formulation of legal issues to be studied is what is the meaning of "dan/atau" in laws and regulations in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the meaning of "dan/atau" in laws and regulations in Indonesia. The meaning of "dan/atau" in-laws and regulations is interesting to study from the field of meaning. This research uses qualitative descriptive research methods with doctrinal legal research types and a statute approach. The data source used in this study is the existing laws and regulations in Indonesia. The data analyzed are the connecting words "dan/atau" in Indonesian legislation. The results of the discussion of "dan/atau" in legislation can be treated as "dan" and can also be treated as "atau", caused by the slash studied that indicates the meaning of "choice" and expresses propositions in conjunction or disjunctive by looking at the explanation of the legislation.

Abstract

One form of writing, namely popular scientific works. In writing popular scientific works, writers must follow predetermined guidelines, for example templates, word choice (diction), and suitability of themes. Popular scientific works have word choices that are easy to read and easy for various groups to understand. Therefore, an editing process is needed so that popular scientific works become good. The aim of editing is to avoid too many errors and add references if necessary. Editing is the author's final step before his writing is published. Editing is not an easy job. This was experienced by the students of SMA Negeri 1 Kedamean. For this reason, lecturers in the Indonesian Language Education Study Program at PGRI Adi Buana University Surabaya need to provide community service through training. Training implementation method with face-to-face presentations, modeling and simulation accompanied by assignments. The community service carried out can provide students with insight and skills in editing popular scientific papers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tuturan yang berdampak hukum ditinjau dari elemen dan fungsi kultural di media sosial Tik-Tok Indonesia. Sesuai dengan tujuan tersebut, penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dalam kerangka cyberpragmatic. Penelitian dilakukan di media sosial Tik-Tok Indonesia. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui tahap-tahap atau langkah-langkah, yakni (1) mengumpulkan data berupa konten-konten di aplikasi Tik-Tok, (2) memilah teks yang terdapat bahasa yang berdampak hukum sesuai dengan data yang dibutuhkan seperti pencemaran nama baik, penghinaan, dan SARA, (3) menyeleksi data dengan berdasar pada fokus permasalahan yang sudah ditentukan, (4) melakukan penyandian terhadap konten-konten yang ada di aplikasi Tik-Tok, (5) mendeskripsikan konteks kultural pada bahasa yang berdampak hukum di Tik-Tok, dan (6) menyimpulkan konteks kultural pada bahasa yang berdampak hukum di Tik-Tok. Data yang terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan teknik penganalisisan penelitian ini adalah analisis isi, dengan cara melakukan analisis konteks kultural pada teks di aplikasi Tik-Tok yang berdampak pada hukum. Temuan dari penelitian ini adalah adanya elemen konteks kultural yang muncul pergeseran apabila diterapkan untuk menganalisis tuturan dalam jaringan meliputi (1) situation, (2) partisipan, (3) ends, (4) addressee, (5) keys, (6) instruments, dan (7) genre. Sementara itu, fungsi konteks kultural yang muncul meliputi (1) fungsi konteks memberikan keterangan setting dan kondisi peserta tutur, (2) fungsi konteks memberikan keterangan atau informasi pengetahuan peserta tutur, (3) fungsi konteks memberikan keterangan atau informasi sebelum tuturan terjadi, dan (4) memiliki fungsi konteks memberikan informasi tambahan mengenai peserta tutur. Penelitian ini diharapkan bermanfaat bagi masyarakat agar lebih memperhatikan penggunaan diksi yang digunakan dalam menulis maupun bertutur di media sosial. Bagi pendidikan bahasa Indonesia, penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sumbangsih dalam studi cyberpragmatics yang digunakan untuk mengaji permasalahan tuturan yang diduga berdampak hukum.

Abstract

Indonesian internet users (Netizens) are considered uncivilized in using the internet. The Digital Civility Index (DCI) states that the politeness of Indonesian netizens was ranked 29th out of 32 countries and the worst in Southeast Asia. The uncivility of netizens is closely related to the use of emotive language, so it is necessary to study the use of emotive language by netizens. The emotive language of Indonesian netizens in responding to YouTube posts is very interesting to study from a cyberpragmatic perspective. Cyberpragmatic studies are the use of language and communication in a digital environment or in cyberspace. The problems studied in this study are formulated: (1) How is the lingual form of the emotive language of Indonesian netizens realized in responding to YouTube posts in a cyberpramatic perspective? And (2) How is the emotive language function of Indonesian netizens realized in responding to YouTube posts in a cyberpramatic perspective? The purpose of this study is to describe and explain the realization of the form of Indonesian netizen emotive language and the function of netizen emotive language in responding on YouTube posts. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The research data is in the form of netizens' verbal responses to internet-mediated YouTube posts as a field for cyberpragmatic studies. Data was collected using the Simak Bebas Libat Cakap (SBLC) technique. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive techniques using the interactive model Miles and Huberman (1992) with the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification/drawing conclusions. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the lingual form of emotive language is stated in utterances in declarative, interrogative, and directive modes, while the function of emotive language is stated in delarative speech acts with the function of stating, informing, confirming, giving advice, and praying; in expressive speech acts with functions of praising, expressing pleasure, expressing pride, thanking, apologizing, satirizing, mocking, and insulting; in imperative speech acts with functions of ordering, prohibiting, inviting, and asking. The conclusion of this study is that the lingual form of emotive language is realized in speech in declarative, interrogative, and directive modes.

Abstract

Literary appreciation learning is an effort to increase competence in the field of literature so that Indonesian Language Education Study Program students have complete provisions as prospective educators to be implemented in school. However, in the process there are learning problems that arise, including low motivation of students in getting to know literary works of poetry and lack of knowledge when students appreciate poetry. For this reason, further research is needed to overcome this problem by learning through the application of the suggestopedia method. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method, with research subjects being students of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program. Data collection techniques were carried out using documentation techniques for analyzing poetry tasks, while data analysis techniques were carried out using quantitative descriptive techniques. Based on the research, it is known that the application of the suggestopedia method can increase students' competence in appreciating poetry. This can be proven by the average score obtained during the pre-test which the average is 2.5 (the scoring guideline 1-5), while the results during the post-test or after applying the suggestopedia method in student learning obtained an average score 4.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tindak tutur Mamat Alkatiri dengan judul “Masuk Penjara Kita Gara-Gara Video Ini Kayanya” pada Konten Somasi Media Sosial Youtube Deddy Corbuzier Kajian Pragmatik. Pragmatik adalah ilmu bahasa yang mempelajari pemakaian bahasa yang dikaitkan dengan konteks pemakaiannya. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kata, frasa, dan kalimat yang menyatakan tindak tutur lokusi, ilokusi, dan perlokusi. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini berupa tuturan pada Konten Somasi Media Sosial Youtube Deddy Corbuzier Mamat Alkatiri dalam video dengan judul “Masuk Penjara Kita Gara-Gara Video Ini Kayanya”. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini dengan dua tahap yaitu teknik simak dan teknik catat. Teknik penganalisisan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tindak tutur dalam penelitian ini adalah lokusi, ilokusi, dan perlokusi. Lokusi sendiri meliputi lokusi pernyataan (deklaratif), lokusi perintah (imperatif), dan lokusi pertanyaan (interogatif). Ilokusi meliputi asetif, direktif, ekspresif, dan komisif. Sedangkan perlokusi meliputi perlokusi direktif, perlokusi ekspresif, perlokusi representatif, dan perlokusi komisif.

Abstract

Freedom of expression on social media often gives rise to conflict, debate and even division in society. One of the social media features is the comments column. Apart from being a positive tool, this can also be used as a negative tool which can lead to language wars. A form of language war can be found in the comments column, namely in the form of hate speech. Hate speech texts usually contain insults, defamation, blasphemy, provocation, incitement and unpleasant actions, as well as other aspects regarding SARA and people with disabilities. Hate speech can take the form of words, phrases and sentences depending on the context. To be able to understand hate speech in comments, it needs to be studied using semantic and pragmatic studies. This research aims to describe the forms of illocutionary speech acts in comments on social media. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data in this research are words, phrases and sentences containing illocutionary speech acts, while the data source is hate speech comments. Data collection techniques use documentation techniques. The data analysis technique was carried out using descriptive methods. The results of this research show four forms of illocutionary speech acts, namely assertive acts, directive acts, expressive acts, and commissive acts. Assertive actions are used to bind speakers to the truth of their speech, such as stating, insinuating, reporting, showing, and accusing. Directive acts function to encourage the other person to do something, both verbally and nonverbally, such as begging, demanding, ordering, suggesting, requesting, and opposing. Expressive acts function to express the speaker's feelings towards the person he is talking to, such as congratulating, apologizing, criticizing, praising, criticizing and complaining. Commissive actions refer to the interests of the interlocutor, such as promising, offering, swearing and threatening. Keywords: illocutionary speech acts, comments, semantics, pragmatics

Abstract

Students at the Senior High School (SMA) level are generally faced with conditions that still require assistance from teachers in terms of character education in order to be able to determine appropriate attitudes and behavior according to norms. On this basis, it is inevitable that character education will continue to be strengthened in educational units. The aim of the research is to develop the character of MAJU (Independent, Active, Honest and Tenacious) in the Intensive Cadet Development High School (ITP) Surabaya. The type of research is development research using the ADDIE model. There are five stages of the ADDIE model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation, which are used to develop the MAJU character. The research subjects were 10 subject teachers at ITP High School, and the research location was ITP High School Surabaya. The research instrument uses observation sheets, data collection techniques using observation and quantitative descriptive data analysis techniques. The results of the research show that the MAJU character (Independent, Active, Honest and Tenacious) can be practiced and implemented by Subject Teachers at SMA ITP Surabaya, with the results of direct observation assessment of subject teachers with an average score of 85 which is interpreted as development the MAJU character is feasible and can be applied at SMA ITP Surabaya. The conclusion from the research results is that MAJU character development at SMA ITP Surabaya can be applied in strengthening the character of students at SMA ITP Surabaya.
