Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengembangan e-modul berbasis android untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Indonesia pada mahasiswa Poltekes Kemnkes dan Unipa Surabaya. Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan e-modul bahasa Indonesia berbasis android, mendeskripsikan kelayakan e-modul, dan mendeskripsikan tingkat efektivitasnya. Rendahnya minat dan motivasi mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran mata kuliah bahasa Indonesia karena ketidakmenarikan mata kuliah Bahasa Indonesia dengan kebutuhan akademik mahasiswa. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian pengembangan research and development (R&D) model ADDIE terdapat lima tahapan dalam Model ADDIE antara lain, analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket; 1) angket validasi modul, 2) angket validasi ahli perancangan e-modul, 3) angket proto tipe e-modul, 4) angket dosen pengampu Mata Kuliah Bahasa Indonesia di Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya dan Poltekes Kemenkes Surabaya, dan 5) angket mahasiswa yang menempuh mata kuliah Bahasa Indonesia di Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya dan Poltekes Kemenkes Surabaya. Selanjutnya teknik penganalisisan data peneliti menggukan teknik analisis kuantitatif dengan mengacu pada pedoman penskoran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Arimbi dapat digunakan dengan baik dan dapat membantu siswa dalam belajar bahasa Indonesia sehingga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam berbicara bahasa Indonesia, terutama dalam materi kata dan pembentukan kata, kalimat yang efektif, dan paragraf.

Abstract

Technology is now an important element in education, especially in the provision of interesting and interactive learning media. The ability to listen in Indonesian is very important to understand information. Interactive digital screen media that presents images, text, and sound can increase students' interest and understanding when listening. This study aims to describe the results of the application of interactive digital screen media in an effort to improve the listening skills of inclusion students in grade VIII. This research is a quantitative study with an experimental method using a Single Subject Research (SSR) design. The research subjects are inclusion students in grade VIII who have limitations in understanding the material and learning motivation. The activity was carried out in three sessions at each baseline and intervention condition. The results showed that the baseline condition scores tended to be low (40–50 values) and did not increase significantly. After the intervention using interactive digital screen media, there was a significant increase with the listening score increasing from 70 to 80. Innovation in the use of interactive digital media has proven to be effective in inclusive education, because it is able to provide adaptive, multimodal, and more motivating learning for students with special needs to be actively involved in the learning process.

Abstract

Literary appreciation learning is an effort to increase competence in the field of literature so that Indonesian Language Education Study Program students have complete provisions as prospective educators to be implemented in school. However, in the process there are learning problems that arise, including low motivation of students in getting to know literary works of poetry and lack of knowledge when students appreciate poetry. For this reason, further research is needed to overcome this problem by learning through the application of the suggestopedia method. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method, with research subjects being students of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program. Data collection techniques were carried out using documentation techniques for analyzing poetry tasks, while data analysis techniques were carried out using quantitative descriptive techniques. Based on the research, it is known that the application of the suggestopedia method can increase students' competence in appreciating poetry. This can be proven by the average score obtained during the pre-test which the average is 2.5 (the scoring guideline 1-5), while the results during the post-test or after applying the suggestopedia method in student learning obtained an average score 4.

Abstract

The ability of students to edit scientific papers is still low, especially in mastering the use of hedge (fencing devices) and boosters (strengthening devices). Hedges and boosters are forms of expression of the author's attitude towards propositional content through epistemic modalities. This study aims to describe hedges and boosters in student scientific articles within the framework of a pragmatic metadiscourse. A qualitative descriptive approach was used in this study. The data used is in the form of editing words, sentences, and paragraphs in scientific articles editing courses. The source of this research data is a scientific article by PGRI Adi Buana University Surabaya students in 2022. Data collection techniques use documentation techniques and recording techniques. Data analysis techniques to identify hedges and word lists of boosters using the AntConc application built by Lawrence Anthony. Data that has been obtained from the AntConc application found the frequency of hedges and boosters in scientific articles. The results of this study showed that the use of modal verb hedges in the first position was 214 frequencies, followed by 59 adverbs of hedges, and verb hedges were 3 frequencies, while the use of booster in the first position was 202 frequencies, followed by adverbs booster of 63 frequencies, and booster verbs of 6 frequencies. This study shows that students ability to tendency to (1) use epistemic modalities in modal verbs, (2) tend to use more capital verbs that mean certainty and possibility, and (3) tend to use adverbs to mean epistemic modalities.

Abstract

Freedom of expression on social media often gives rise to conflict, debate and even division in society. One of the social media features is the comments column. Apart from being a positive tool, this can also be used as a negative tool which can lead to language wars. A form of language war can be found in the comments column, namely in the form of hate speech. Hate speech texts usually contain insults, defamation, blasphemy, provocation, incitement and unpleasant actions, as well as other aspects regarding SARA and people with disabilities. Hate speech can take the form of words, phrases and sentences depending on the context. To be able to understand hate speech in comments, it needs to be studied using semantic and pragmatic studies. This research aims to describe the forms of illocutionary speech acts in comments on social media. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data in this research are words, phrases and sentences containing illocutionary speech acts, while the data source is hate speech comments. Data collection techniques use documentation techniques. The data analysis technique was carried out using descriptive methods. The results of this research show four forms of illocutionary speech acts, namely assertive acts, directive acts, expressive acts, and commissive acts. Assertive actions are used to bind speakers to the truth of their speech, such as stating, insinuating, reporting, showing, and accusing. Directive acts function to encourage the other person to do something, both verbally and nonverbally, such as begging, demanding, ordering, suggesting, requesting, and opposing. Expressive acts function to express the speaker's feelings towards the person he is talking to, such as congratulating, apologizing, criticizing, praising, criticizing and complaining. Commissive actions refer to the interests of the interlocutor, such as promising, offering, swearing and threatening. Keywords: illocutionary speech acts, comments, semantics, pragmatics

Abstract

The importance of effective writing skills at the primary education level cannot be ignored. This article discusses the impact of applying a problem-based learning approach, Problem-Based Learning, in improving writing skills in fourth grade elementary school students in Garut Regency. This research method involves the development of PBL material, application in the classroom, and evaluation of learning outcomes through qualitative and quantitative assessments. The results of this study showed: first, there was a significant improvement in the ability to write argumentative paragraphs. Second, student responses are very positive to the use of the Problem-Based Learning approach in learning to write argumentation paragraphs. However, there were weaknesses in using this learning approach, namely in terms of preparation that teachers must do. Pentingnya kemampuan menulis efektif pada tingkat pendidikan dasar tidak dapat diabaikan. Artikel ini membahas dampak penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis masalah, Problem-Based Learning, dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis pada siswa kelas empat sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Garut. Metode penelitian ini melibatkan pengembangan materi PBL, penerapan di kelas, dan evaluasi hasil belajar melalui penilaian kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: pertama, terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan menulis paragraf argumentasi. Kedua, respons siswa sangat positif terhadap penggunaan pendekatan Problem-Based Learning dalam pembelajaran menulis paragraf argumentasi. Namun demikian, ditemukan adanya kelemahan dalam menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran ini, yaitu dari segi persiapan yang harus guru lakukan.
