Abstract

The objective of this research was increase yield components and physiological seed quality and determined the proper dose of phosphorus fertilizer on four sorghum varieties. This research has been conducted  in Field Experiment and the plant breeding laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from April 2014 to October 2014. The research conducted by using  randomized  block  design  (RBD) which arranged factorial with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor was a fertilizer dose of SP-36, namely: 45 kg SP-36,  90 kg SP-36 kg and 135 kg SP-36 / ha. The second factor was the sorghum varieties those Kawali, Numbu, Pahat and Mandau. The mean separation of analysis of variance was tested using Duncans multiple range test at 5%. Parameters those observed: seed weight / panicle, weight of 1000 seeds, seed weight/m2, seed moisture content, germination test, first count test, rate of germination, seedling dry weight, plumule growth and radicel test. The results showed that phosphorus fertilizer increases the grain weight / panicle, weight of 1000 seeds and seed weight/m2.The phosphorus fertilizer application of 90 kg/ ha showed the best effect on the variety Pahat (8,50 ton/ha) and Mandau (8,7 ton/ha). The Phosphorus fertilizer application increases the physiological seed quality on all parameters except the water content.The phosphorus fertilizer application 135 kg/ha gave the best quality of the seed physiology of Mandau and Numbu. Abstract

The research objective was to determine the effect of cow blood flour fertilizer instead of inorganic fertilizers and get the best dose for growth and production of soybean plants. This research was conducted at the experimental field UPT Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The study took place in July until October 2015, research conducted experiments using completely randomized design (CRD) comprised of 5 treatments and 4 replications. Such treatment is the administration of cow blood flour consisting of K0 (cattle blood flour 0 kg / ha); K1 (cattle blood Flour 200 kg / ha); K2 (cattle blood Flour 400 kg / ha); K3 (cattle blood Flour 600 kg / ha); K4 (cattle blood Flour 800 kg / ha). The parameters observed  were plant height, number of primary branches, plant dry weight, flowering plant age, seed weight per plant, weight of 100 seeds and harvest index. Data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance and  Duncan's multiple range test at 5% level. The results showed that cattle blood flour can be used as a substitute for inorganic fertilizer, where the provision of cattle blood flour as much as 400 kg of urea is equivalent to giving as much as 50.8 kg. Implementation of cow blood flour as much as 600 kg / ha and 800 kg / ha dose was better for the growth and yield of soybean Wilis variety. Keywords: cattle blood flour, growth, production, soybean

Abstract

This study attempt to determine the impact of liquid foliar fertilizer (LFF) application to several soybean varieties on cropgrowth and yield components. This experiment was conducted in the Experimental Farm of the Agriculture Faculty, the University of Riau from March 2018 to May 2018 in a split-plot design with three replications. Three rates of foliar fertilizer; ie, without LFF, LFF with a concentration of 2 g.l-1of water, and LFF withconcentration of 4 g.l-1of waterwere  assigned as the main plot.  Five soybean varieties, namely Anjasmoro, Burangrang, Dena 1, Dega 1 and Detam 1 were used as subplot.Parameters observed were plant height, flowering date, harvesting date, dry seed weight after 15, 22  days after pollination,seed dry weight at harvest, seed growth accumulation rate, effective filling period, number of  filled pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, weight of 100 seeds, and seed weight per m2. Data were analyzed by the analysis of variance then followed by Duncan's multiple range test at a level of 5% probability. The results showed a variation of several soybean varieties. There is a tendency of an increase in some yield components due to application of LFF and between low to compare higher concentration of LFF.Application of LFF as supplementary fertilizer has significant effect on plant height, flowering date, and seed weight per m2 but has no effect on other parameters. Interaction between varieties with LFF affected significantly plant hight and flowering dates in which application of LFF tended to shortened time to flower and resulted taller plant height.This indicates the important use of foliar fertilizer to improve yield and yield components of soybean varieties. Keywords : folliar fertilizer, soybean varieties, crop growth, yield components

Abstract

The research aims to study the growth and yield of green beans from the provision of cow manure. The research was conducted at the Experimental Station of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru from February to April 2018. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used in this experiment, with three replications. The cow manure treatment consists of five levels A = No Cow Manure, B = 5 tons. ha-1, C = 10 ton. ha-1, D = 15 tons. ha-1 and E = 20 ton. ha-1. The parameters observed were planted height, number of primary branches, age of flowering plants, harvest age, the number of plant pods, percentage of pithy pods, seed weight per m2 and weight of 1000 seeds. The results showed that green bean plants did not respond to the cow manure application and the nutrient requirements have been fulfilled from the application of Urea, TSPand KCl fertilizer. Keywords: cow manure, green bean,growth and yield.

Abstract

This study aims to observe the effect of coconut water GR and LOF of tofu liquid waste, and to get the best concentration on the growth and production of red onion (Allium ascalonicum L.). The experiment was conducted in experimental garden of Agricultural Faculty of Riau University, Pekanbaru. The study lasted for 3 months from July to September 2016. This experiment was conducted experimentally using a Factorial Randomized Complete Random Design (RAL) consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications.Factor I is the concentration of coconut water, consisting of 4 levels ie: A0 = 0%, A1 = 25%, A2 = 50%, A3 = 75%. Factor II is the concentration of tofu liquid waste, consisting of 4 levels ie: L0 = 0%, L1 = 25%, L2 = 50%, L3 = 75%. Of the two factors above, there is a combination of 16 treatments, each repeated 3 times so that there are 48 experimental units. Parameters observed were Number of leaves per clump (tuber), Number of tubers per clump (fruit), largest tuber of tuber per clump (cm), weight of fresh bulb per clump (g), weight of fresh tubers / m2 (g) and weight of dried bulbs / M2 (g). The data obtained were analyzed statistically using vocabulary, then continued by Duncan multiple-range test at 5% level.Giving of GR coconut water and LOF of wastewater know to increase the growth and production of shallot crop. Giving GR of coconut water concentration of 50% and 75% with LOF of wastewater know concentration of 75% is the best concentration in obtaining fresh bulb weight per m2 and weight of dry bulb per m2. Keywords: Red onion, coconut water, Liquid waste tofu

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the EFB Trichocompost with NPK formulations and get the best formulations for plant growth those derived from immature oil palm twin sprouts plant. The research was conducted experimentally using a randomized block design (RBD), which consists of 5 treatments and 3 replications, from  June 2016 to September 2016 at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Rimbo Panjang village, Riau Province. Such treatment was: the formulation EFB Trichocompost with NPK, ie: P0 (without fertilizer), P1 (EFB Trichocompost 10 ton / ha + NPK 6 tablets), P2 (EFB Trichocompost 10 ton / ha + NPK 8 tablets), P3 (EFB Trichocompost 20 ton / ha + NPK 6 tablets), P4 (EFB Trichocompost 20 ton / ha + NPK 8 tablets). The parameters measured were the increase of plant height, number of leaves, trunk circumference, midrib length, and petiole length. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range test at the 5 % level. The results showed implementation of formulations of  20 ton / ha EFB Trichocompost with 8 tablets  NPK was the best treatment on all parameters in immature oil palm plant origin twin sprouts. Keywords: twin sprouts, oil palm, EFB Trichocompost, NPK.

Abstract

This subject proposes to find out the result of oil palm seed immersion in various concentrations of KNO3 and to get the best KNO3 concentration on germination and outgrowth. This research has been conducted at Plant Breeding and Experimental Plantation Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The study was conducted for 4 months from Agust to December 2016. The experiment was conducted experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment of soaking of scarificated oil palm seed in KNO3 (K) concentration for 20 hours consisted of K0 (soaking without KNO3), K1 (0.2%), K2 (0.4%), K3 (0.6%). Parameters observed were ; germination time, index value test, percentage of sprouts, radicle length, plumule length, seed height, and seedling dry weight. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by using analysis of variance and means separation with Duncan Multiple Range Test at 5%. The result showed that soaking of oil palm seed in KNO3 solution had a significant effect on sprouts, germination percentage, radicle length, plumule length and dry weight of seedlings. Soaking of oil palm seed in a KNO3 solution with a concentration of 0.4% for 20 hours can accelerate when sprouts appearing from 22.4 days to 6.8 days, and increase germination rates from 34.4% to 53.6%. Key Words : Oil palm seed, dormancy, KNO3 and germination

Abstract

The study aims to observe the effect of palm oil factory solid waste and phosphate fertilizer, and to get the best combination on the growth and production of soybean. The experiment lasted for 3 month from June to August 2017 on experimental garden of Agricultural Faculty of Riau University.The research was carried out experimentally using Randomized Block Design (RBD) factorial which is composed of two factors. The first factor was the palmoil factory solid waste which consists of 3 levels i.e. L0 = without LPPKS, L1 = LPPKS2.5 t. ha-1 and L2 = LPPKS 5 t. ha-1. The second factor that is phosphate fertilizer (P) consisting of 4 levels i.e. P0 = no TSP, P1 = 20 kg P2O5. ha-1, P2 = 40 kg P2O5. ha-1 and P3 = 60 kg P2O5. ha-1. The observed parameters, i.e. plant height, number of primary branches,plant growth rate, harvest age, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, pithy pea percentage,seed weight per m2 and weight of 100 seeds. The data obtained were analyzed using Anova and Duncan on levels 5%. The results showed that giving palm oil factory solid waste enhance the rate of growth of the plant, 100 seed weight and seed weight per m2, whereas the granting of fertilizer P increases the weight of seeds per m2. Granting palm oil factory solid waste 2.5 ton. ha-1 and fertilizer P 40 kg. ha-1 can give you the best results on the weight of seeds per m2.Keywords: soybean, phosphate, Palm Oil factory solid waste.

Abstract

Kabupaten Kampar merupakan satu diantara beberapa sentra penanaman padi di Provinsi Riau. Kendala dalam melaksanakan budidaya tanaman padi yang masih ditemukan diantaranya adalah kurangnya pengetahuan petani tentang teknik budidaya dan pengendalian penyakit pada tanaman padi. Tujuan kegiatan ini ialah untuk mendorong petani agar dapat membuat biofungisida berbahan aktif konsorsium Trichoderma virens dan Pseudomonad berflourescens dalam formulasi Biofungisida Plus untuk pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit yang menyerang tanaman padi. Kegiatan pemberdayaan petani di Desa Sawah melalui penerapan teknologi pengendalian penyakit tanaman padi dengan biofungisida plus dilaksanakan dengan menerapkan Model Community Development. Pada metode ini secara langsung dilibatkan sebagai subyek dan obyek dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat ini diantaranya ialah, masyarakat bersedia untuk menerapkan teknologi Biofungisida Plus di lahan sawahnya. Berdasarkan hasil kuisioner juga diketahui pemahaman dan wawasan petani bertambah setelah diperkenalkan dengan Teknologi Biofungisida Plus ini. Aplikasi Biofungisida Plus di lahan petani menunjukkan kondisi tanaman yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan teknik budidaya yang biasa digunakan oleh petani.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of  the granting TKKS and fertilizer phosphorusagainst power result and quality of seed of red rice seed. This research has been carried out in the plant breeding laboratory in the faculty of agriculture, University of Riau, Tampan district, Pekanbaru in June to September 2016. The design of this research was a completely randomized block design (RAK),  factorial (2 factors) and 3 replications. The first factor: compost TKKS (T) with 4 dosages (ton/ha) i.e. T1 (1.5), T2 (5), T3 (7,5), T4 (10) and the second factor: phosphorus fertilizer (B) with 4 doses (kg/ha): B1 (33.75), B2 (67.5), B3 (101,25), B4 (135). The data were analyzed using ANOVA andHSD 5%. The results showed that the application of 7.5 tonnes/ha of EFB compost and 101.25 kg/ha phosphorus gives the best results on most parameters such as the number of productive tillers, the amount of grain per panicle, the percentage of filled grain, dry milled per m2, 1000 seed weight and the germination rate. Application of 7.5 t/ha EFB compost TKKS tonnes /ha produce  of 1.42 tonnes /ha, and applying 101.25 kg/ha phosphorus produce of 1.47 tonnes s/ha. Application of 7.5 t/ha EFB compost and 101.25 kg/ha of phosphorus produce  the highest of red rice rice yield i.e. 1.58 tonnes /ha, but still much more downcast than the production of enormous potency.   Keyword:   TKKS compost, phosphorus fertilizer, the power result and quality of seed of red rice seed
