Abstract

Kepala sekolah merupakan salah satu elemen penting bagi kemajuan sekolah.  Dalam perannya seorang kepala sekolah menjalankan fungsi baik sebagai pendidik, pemimpin, pengelola, administrator, maupun sebagai supervisor. Sedangkan fungsi dari kepala sekolah adalah pendidik, pemimpin, pengelola, administrator, wirausahawan, pencipta iklim kerja dan supervisor. Pada tataran operasional tugas pokok kepala sekolah mencakup kegiatan menggali dan mendayagunakan seluruh sumber daya sekolah secara terpadu dalam kerangka pencapaian tujuan sekolah secara efektif dan efisien. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik kepala sekolah sebagai leader  yang relevan untuk kondisi di lapangan. Informan penelitian pengawas sekolah di Kabupaten Sleman. Cara menentukan informan penelitian berdasarkan karakteristik wilayah binaan pengawas sekolah yaitu perkotaan dan pedesaan. Temuan penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa kepala sekolah sebagai leader harus mampu berperan sebagai (a) entrepreneur, (b) teladan dalam kepemimpinan pembelajaran (supervisor), (c) memiliki visi yang jelas; (d) mampu memotivasi warga sekolah untuk memajukan sekolah; (d) mampu membuat keputusan dengan tepat; dan (e) mampu mengembangkan budaya sekolah sesuai dengan perkembangan lingkungannya.Kata kunci: kepala sekolah, leader

Abstract

Higher education is a legal entity that represents the government to serve society optimally. This research aims to identify, understand and manage risks that can hinder the achievement of organizational goals in terms of organizing higher education. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive type. Research subjects were taken from leaders and employees in the Directorate of Planning and Finance, Directorate of General Affairs, Resources and Law. Directorate of Research and Community Service, Directorate of Cooperation, Information Systems, Innovation and Business, Quality Assurance Directorate, Internal Supervisory Unit, Vocational Faculty. Subject selection was carried out using a purposive technique using considerations of feasibility and competency related to the themes studied in this research. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and interviews. The data that was collected was analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis techniques. This risk register management is a document that functions to identify, understand and manage risks that can hinder the achievement of organizational goals. The structured risks are a development of the risk mapping that was prepared during the previous program. Risks that have been identified are not risks that are fixed (given). The risks referred to can change, increase, or even decrease according to the conditions faced by the organization. Communication in efforts to update risk data in risk register management is still very necessary as an effort to enrich the types and impacts of these risks on the organization.

Abstract

Guru memiliki tanggung jawab yang sangat penting dalam menjaga kualitas pendidikan. Hal itu didasarkan pada tugas dan fungsinya sebagai ujung tombak dalam aktivitas pembelajaran di kelas. Kelas sebagai unit pendidikan dan manajemen terkecil merupakan kunci pokok dalam keberhasilan pendidikan secara Iebih besar. Berbagai permasalahan yang dihadapi guru dalam rnenjalankan kewajiban dan tugasnya terletak pada upaya peningkatan profesionalisme yang kurang diperhatikan secara maksimal. Tanggung jawab peningkatan kemarnpuan professional guru terletak pada: 1) individu guru yang bersangkutan, 2) lembaga penghasil tenaga keguruan, 3) organisasi profesi, dan 4) sekolah yang menaungi guru yang bersangkutan. Peningkatan kemampuan professional guru saat ini mcntpakan aktivitas yang berkelanjutan bukan sekedar kegiatan insidental semata. Kegiatan-kegiatan insidental yang sering dilakukan pada masa lampau kurang membawa perubahan yang mendasar dalam diri guru. Strategi peningkatan kemampuan professional dapat dilakukan baik secara individual maupun kolektif. Tuntutan perkembangan global adalah professional dalarn segala bidang termasuk dalam bidang pendidikan yang dalam hal ini dari sudut sumber daya manusia khususnya guru. Peningkatan yang berkelanjutan (continuous Improvement) akan membawa peruhahan kemampuan profesional guru secara berkelanjutan pula.

Abstract

Layanan prima saat ini telah menjadi kebutuhan. Masyarakat memandang kualitas sebuah organisasi antara lain ditentukan oleh kualitas layanan yang diberikan. Pelayanan berkaitan dengan fungsi melayani kebutuhan orang akan barang dan atau jasa, sesuai dengan apa yang dibutuhkan dan diharapkan. Dalam konteks tersebut, terdapat tiga unsur dalam konsep pelayanan, yaitu siapa yang memberi pelayanan, siapa yang diberi pelayanan, dan apa yang menjadi fokus kebutuhan pelayanan. Pengawas sekolah merupakan pemimpin bagi lingkungan sekolah yang berbeda-beda. Ada kalanya pengawas sekolah dalam bekerja terlihat berperilaku kurang senyum, sering marah, bahkan otoriter, yang sebenarnya telah merugikan dirinya sendiri dan lembaga. Secara pribadi, seseorang dalam kondisi tersebut sedang mengalami penyakit psikologis dan lambat laun menjadi psikosomatis yang akan menyerang fisiknya. Dampaknya, pengawas sekolah akan merasa sulit untuk memberikan pelayanan yang baik terhadap orang lain dalam lingkup kerjanya. Dengan demikian, pengawas sekolah belum mampu memberikan jaminan kepastian mutu (quality assurance) melalui pelayanan jasa terhadap pelanggan lembaganya.

Abstract

Students' motivation plays a fundamental role in enhancing their academic performance, which is particularly true in Islamic education. Students with high motivation are likelier to engage actively with the learning material, retain knowledge, and demonstrate improved outcomes. One key factor in cultivating this motivation is the leadership provided by teachers in the classroom. Therefore, this research aims to determine teacher leadership strategies to increase student learning motivation at one Islamic education centre in East Lombok. This research is qualitative research and a phenomenological perspective that focuses on teacher leadership. The subjects of this research were two teachers and four students at one Islamic education in East Lombok. The research was carried out at an Islamic education centre in East Lombok. Interviews and documentation are data collection techniques used in this research. The results of this research show that the teacher's leadership strategy in increasing student learning motivation is by being a good listener, encouraging students to be more active in class, using the right learning method, fulfilling students' learning needs, time discipline, and being a role model in class. The study results imply that teachers, with their learning leadership, can increase student learning motivation.

Abstract

The primary issue in this study is the lack of effective development of students' talents and interests within the education curriculum and the need for innovation to improve the quality of education. This research aims to analyze key elements of innovative curriculum planning and evaluate its effectiveness in fostering students' potential. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design. The research subjects include the school principal, 10 teachers, 5 administrative staff members, 5 school committee members, and 20 parents of students. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns and key themes within the data. The findings indicate that key elements of innovative curriculum planning include strong school policies and commitment, additional instructional hours, academic guidance programs, student skills documentation, supplementary language tutoring, extracurricular activities, and computer training. The study concludes that structured and innovative curriculum planning can significantly enhance the development of students' talents and interests. The implications of this research underscore the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders in the curriculum planning and evaluation process to achieve optimal educational outcomes.

Abstract

The implementation of supervision in the field of education does not only focus on evaluation or assessment of weaknesses but rather on efforts to improve the quality of education. Supervision in early childhood education that implements inclusive programs needs to be continuously developed to adjust to the learning environment in schools. This study aims to describe the strategy for developing inclusive education supervision in integrated one-roof Islamic early childhood education institutions in Pati Regency. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The source of research data was obtained from informants of three school principals from each early childhood education service unit, namely TPA, KB, and TK. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis process is carried out inductively by detailing empirical facts through direct activities in the field. The results of the study indicate that in integrated Islamic-based inclusive early childhood education institutions, educational supervision and coaching programs have been implemented by all teachers and school education personnel. The strategy for developing educational supervision that can be applied forms a solid foundation for optimizing inclusive learning practices. These strategies include an in-depth understanding of inclusion, teacher involvement and training, development of inclusive learning plans, utilization of resources, and continuous monitoring and evaluation. Overall, these findings continue to emphasize the inclusion program promoted by the institution.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji strategi kepemimpinan yang diterapkan oleh Kepala SDN Cigugur Tengah Mandiri 2 dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, terutama dalam pengembangan karakter dan prestasi akademik. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan dengan wawancara mendalam bersama kepala sekolah dan observasi aktivitas sekolah. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa strategi kepemimpinan partisipatif, seperti melibatkan guru, staf, dan orang tua dalam merancang dan melaksanakan program, memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap peningkatan mutu sekolah. Program utama mencakup kegiatan pembentukan karakter rutin, Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5), dan partisipasi siswa dalam berbagai lomba. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui rapat bulanan dan observasi. Studi ini berkontribusi pada teori dan praktik manajemen pendidikan, serta memberikan rekomendasi untuk meningkatkan strategi kepemimpinan guna mencapai hasil serupa di sekolah lain.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the leadership of school principals, including (1) leadership roles, (2) innovations, and (3) supporting and inhibiting factors of school principals' leadership in elementary-mover schools in Yogyakarta city.Methodology: This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data sources in this study were primary data obtained directly by researchers and secondary data obtained directly from existing sources. Data collection techniques and instruments are observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data validity testing techniques used are credibility testing, dependability testing, transferability testing, and confirmability testing. The. The data analysis used are analyses from Miles and and M.W. Huberman. Finding: The results of this study indicate that the principal's leadership role in the implementation of driving schools is to develop teacher competence through workshops, seminars, and the use of technology, as well as collaboration with parents of students in supporting all school activities. The principal's leadership innovations include creating millennial and qur'an programs, digital classes, student exchange programs, and five pleco lights. The supporting factors of the principal's leadership include managerial ability, communication, integrity and excellence, democracy, ability to manage conflict, ability to motivate, exceptional attention to teachers, high discipline, open communication, supervision and evaluation, support from parents of students, and adequate school facilities. The inhibiting factors of the principal's leadership include the lack of understanding of some senior teachers in applying new technology, thus inhibiting the school from becoming a creative and innovative school.Significance—This approach also provides a reference for modeling the principal's leadership innovations and contributes to the quality of education.Keywords : Principal leadership, Elementary school, Mover school
