Abstract

On-the-job training is practical if it suits the needs of the teacher. However, there still needs to be more competence and training in schools. This study aims to analyze teacher competency development through on-the-job training. This research uses a qualitative approach in the form of a case study at SDIT Lan Tabur Purwodadi. The data collection method uses observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects in this study were principals and teachers. Data analysis techniques with data collection, data reduction, data presentation, conclusion, and data verification. The results showed that through on-the-job training, teacher competence could develop well, teacher pedagogic competence develops in managing learning in the classroom, and teacher social competence is also well developed and can provide a foundation for social problems in schools. Teacher personality competence develops with on-the-job training, but it is different from the professional competence of teachers, which is less developed due to the lack of teachers conducting research and the use of technology, which still needs to be improved. This is because the facilities and infrastructure at SDIT Lan Tabur Purwodadi need to be improved. Through on-the-job training, teacher competence becomes very developed. The implications of this research are expected through on-the-job training to develop teacher competence and provide solutions to teacher competence problems in schools.

Abstract

A preliminary study found that qualitative findings revealed a gap between expectations and reality in the transformational leadership of school principals in implementing character education. Principals were not consistently setting a good example for students, teachers, staff, or parents, resulting in suboptimal implementation of character education. This study aims to describe the implementation of character education in the Pancasila Student Profile and analyze the principal’s role in providing ideal influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. It also identifies the driving and inhibiting factors in the implementation of character education at SDN Kotagede 5. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with validity tested using credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The findings show that character education has been well implemented across learning, school culture, and extracurricular activities, covering six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. The study concludes that the principal’s transformational leadership plays a strategic role in creating a supportive environment, though challenges remain in student discipline and school coordination. Strengthening teacher appreciation, parental involvement, and student mentoring strategies are recommended to improve effectiveness.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of social media usage on the teaching creativity of elementary school teachers. As digital platforms increasingly become part of educational practices, understanding their role in fostering teacher creativity is essential.A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, involving 76 teachers from SD Islam Al Azhar 31 Yogyakarta. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire designed around validated indicators of social media usage and teaching creativity. The instrument was pilot-tested to ensure its validity and reliability. A One-Way ANOVA test was used to analyze the relationship between social media use and teaching creativity. The findings indicate that teachers frequently utilize social media as a source of inspiration and a collaborative platform, particularly for accessing visual media, planning interactive activities, and applying diverse teaching strategies. Reported engagement in creativity-related activities showed 30% of respondents indicating “always,” 25% “often,” and 20% “sometimes.” The ANOVA test revealed a significant relationship, with an F-value of 236.810 and a significance level of 0.001, indicating a strong positive correlation between social media use and teaching creativity. These results suggest that social media can effectively support the enhancement of teaching creativity by offering accessible resources and collaborative opportunities. However, the study is limited by its reliance on self-reported data and its focus on a single institution, which may affect the generalizability of the findings. This study highlights the potential of social media as a valuable tool in promoting professional creativity among teachers and serves as a reference for future teacher development programs.

Abstract

Educational leaders increasingly face complex professional pressures that demand not only managerial competence but also strong adaptive and emotional capacities. This study examines how internal and external factors contribute to principals’ resilience by integrating quantitative and qualitative evidence through a mixed-methods approach. Survey data were used to identify shared perceptions regarding resilience resources, while in-depth interviews explored how principals interpret challenges and sustain leadership effectiveness in practice. The findings reveal that resilience is shaped through the interaction between adaptive meaning-making, spiritual faith, and organizational support. Emotional regulation and a clear sense of professional purpose emerged as important internal resources, while collegial collaboration and family support functioned as reinforcing external mechanisms. Spiritual practices were found to play a significant role in stabilizing emotional responses and supporting reflective decision-making during demanding situations. Rather than operating as isolated factors, these elements interact dynamically to sustain leadership stability under pressure. The integration of quantitative and qualitative findings suggests that resilience should be understood as a relational–spiritual process embedded in everyday leadership experiences. The study highlights the importance of developing leadership support systems that integrate emotional, relational, and spiritual dimensions. These findings provide practical implications for leadership development programs by emphasizing holistic resilience training that strengthens emotional regulation, collaborative organizational culture, and value-based leadership practices to support sustainable educational leadership.

Abstract

The development of an inclusive literacy ecosystem from an early age is a strategic effort to foster a sustainable culture of reading and learning in society. The study aims to illustrate the implementation of a literacy program based on storytelling and coloring activities as a means to enhance children’s literacy interest. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 25 children aged 5–6 years, parents, student volunteers, and community facilitators. Data were collected through observations, brief interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The needs analysis revealed that children had limited exposure to story- and visual-based literacy activities, as well as minimal parental involvement in supporting learning activities at home. The literacy program was implemented in a participatory manner through storytelling and coloring sessions designed to stimulate imagination, improve concentration, and develop children’s expressive abilities. The involvement of student volunteers and community facilitators also strengthened a fun and interactive learning environment. The evaluation results indicate an increase in children’s interest in literacy activities and greater community involvement in supporting child-friendly literacy spaces. These findings suggest that creative, contextual, and collaborative literacy activities can serve as an important foundation for building an inclusive literacy ecosystem within community settings.
