Abstract

Manufacturing Division applies make to order and jobshop strategies. Some mould that produced was late in completion. One of the factor that make it late is the arranging of Master Production Schedule (MPS) without considering to the calculation of production capacity. Meanwhile the calculation of production capacity can doing validation to MPS. So it necessery to calculate production capacity as reference to arrange MPS.This research used Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) method to calculate production capacity. The arranging og MPS using transportation method by considering the result of RCCP analysis. Production scheduling did in one of the mould using Shortest Processing Time (SPT) rules with the help of WinQSB software. The results of this research are the calculation of available capacity and needed capacity. The result of RCCP analysis are 11 mould can fulfill the target and 8 mould can not fulfill the target. Improvment of MPS can solve the problem of lacking capacity by determining reguler time and overtime. Total cost for machining process using transportation method is Rp 1.426.192.100,- while the company cost is Rp1.484.692.739,-. Production scheduling resulted the faster completion time than the company production schedule. The production scheduling of the company for 29 days while using software for 22 days. The results of all calculation and data processing can be used as reference by Manufacturing Divison on the next production to minimize the lateness.

Abstract

– The company in Lamongan, East Java is a company focusing on repair and ship building. Based on observations and interviews, it was found that CNC Flame Plasma Cutting is has a high breakdown rate over a period of time. Therefore, this research to identify critical components, determine the appropriate types of treatment and determine the interval of maintenance critical components. In this research, qualitative analysis involves RCM II Decision Worksheet, FBD, FMEA and RPN.Quantitative analysis to determine maintenance interval. The results showed that 19 failure mode and 7 critical components UPS, operating panel, THC (torch height control) plasma, Cutting Nozzle Flame, Nozzle Torch Plasma 1, X axis motor servo, and Y Axis motor servo. For this type of maintenance on Restoration is treated on cutting nozle flame and Y axis motor servo. Discard task on, UPS, THC Plasma, nozzle torch plasma, X axis servo motor. The maintenance Interval 1199,67 hours for UPS components, 1269,85 hours for operating panel, 1646,13 hours for Cutting Nozzle Flame, 1277,51 hours for THC Plasma, 1725,98 hours for Nozzle Torch Plasma, 1125,28 hours for X axis servo motor, and 1106,91 hours for Y Axis servo motor.

Abstract

Water is an important element for the life of living things on earth. However, the high levelof human need for clean water is not comparable to the level of availability. The decrease of cleanwater sources in Indonesia due to pollution by pentogen bacteria, such as E. coli. These bacteriacome from sanitation systems in Indonesia. This research will design a toilet with the basic principleof DU - 3E. Toilet ergonomics, ecological, easy maintenance, difable availability, and user centeredfor the people of Indonesia. Toilet design development uses the Ulrich method to get the best design.A list of concept needs was obtained through researchers observations of disability needs whenengaged in toilet activities. In addition, an ergonomic approach is carried out through theanthropometric approach of the Indonesian people. The toilet designed by the basic principle of "notmixing" between feces and urine. There is a foot support on the toilet to orm a 35 angle betweenpelvic flexion and the user's rectal canal..

Abstract

This research aims to redesign the factory layout of PT. X in order to minimize material handling distance. The company adheres to a job shop that demands greater system flexibility. Besides that one operator get a variety of tasks such as operating machinery, conducting quality control and doing material handling. This require the operator to move quickly so that the time can be used maximally for the machining process. The research results the layout engineering of machine and material handling using the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) method. The re-layout procedure consists of three steps: analyzing the initial layout, designing the layout alternatives based on SLP, evaluating and selecting alternative layouts with a cost comparison technique. An efficiency improvement of material handling is obtained by alternative layout 1. The results showed a decrease in material handling costs (forklift) by 29.18% and a reduction of the total material handling costs up to 18.4% from the initial layout.

Abstract

This article describes the design analysis process for bottle leak detection machine components using the Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) approach. The Boothroyd-Dewhurst DFMA approach was used to verify existing design efficiency, handling ratios, and fitting ratios. SolidWorks is used to represent study objects in three dimensions. The results of this study, the assembly time for the existing design is 30,53 minutes, the manufacturing time is 20,19 minutes and the total cost is $1819,58. The DFA Index of a bottle leak detection machine is 13,3. The implementation of the DFMA method provides recommendations for design improvements with the aim of reducing manufacturing costs and improving design efficiency

Abstract

The process equipment for the Bananas Getuk machine production, which initially used manual and hand tools, began to be developed for production machine designs, including a mixer machine and a banana Getuk molding. The Bananas Getuk Mixer and Molding Machine used today needs fixing in production. Namely, there is still dough left in the machine, and there are detached components. This problem has an impact on the ineffectiveness of production time and costs. This study aims to analyze the design of the machine by utilizing the DFMA method. The DFMA method provides an assembly process efficiency index (DFA Index) and recommendations for design improvements without changing the machine's function. The results of the DFMA analysis on the Bananas Getuk Mixer and Molding Machine resulted in a DFA Index value of 5.0 and design improvements that included the frame, mixing container, mixer, coaster, hopper, extruder, and bulkhead to increase the efficiency value of the machine.

Abstract

Perancangan mesin pemotong kentang dimulai dengan menentukan atribut kebutuhan pengguna yang akan diwujudkan menjadi mesin pemotong kentang. Tahap awal dilakukan dengan membagikan kuesioner kepada 30 responden pedagang UMKM yang menggunakan alat dalam proses produksi kentang stick dan spiral. Jawaban dari 30 responden akan diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Uji validitas dimaksudkan untuk memastikan bahwa kuesioner relevan dengan tujuan penelitian, sedangkan uji reliabilitas adalah untuk memastikan bahwa hasil kuesioner konsisten dan reliabel. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan uji validitas dan reliabilitas untuk mengetahui validitas dan reliabilitas atribut yang telah ditentukan dalam kuesioner kebutuhan pengguna. Hasil uji validitas pada atribut yang ditentukan menunjukkan bahwa 11 dari 12 atribut produk valid. Hasil uji reliabilitas dari 11 atribut valid dinyatakan reliabel dengan nilai Alpha Cronbach sebesar 0,842.

Abstract

Kereta api adalah suatu sarana perkeretaapian yang mempunyai tenaga gerak, baik berjalan sendiri maupun ditambah dengan sarana perkeretaapian lainnya, yang akan atau sedang bergerak pada jalur kereta api yang berkaitan dengan perjalanan kereta api. Kereta ini terdiri dari beberapa komponen antara lain carbody, sistem rem, dan rangka bogie. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Metode Elemen Hingga dimana metode tersebut digunakan untuk mengetahui keamanan desain sepatu rem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperkirakan panas dan menganalisa desain struktur sepatu rem tanpa retak pada kereta penumpang dengan menggunakan Metode Elemen Hingga (FEM). Pada penelitian ini dilakukan simulasi untuk menganalisis distribusi panas dan tekanan yang terjadi pada sepatu rem selama pengoperasian. Analisa menunjukkan nilai Static Stress Brake Shoe sebesar 0.0059112 MPa. Nilai termal sepatu rem tanpa retak adalah 50,905?C. Nilai faktor keamanan minimal PT INKA adalah 12. Dari hasil tersebut nilai faktor keamanan sepatu rem tanpa retak memenuhi syarat (aman). Temuan ini diharapkan memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap pengembangan desain sepatu rem yang lebih efisien dan andal untuk kereta penumpang.

Abstract

Projects are a series of production processes that produce certain outputs within a specified time period. Compactor Roller Compact Mould implemented by one of the manufacturing companies in Sidoarjo has experienced delays from the deadline that has been set. This delay is caused by ineffective planning and scheduling, which results in the completion of other projects being delayed. The project consists of many overlapping sub-activities. Therefore, this research was conducted to reschedule each overlapping activity using the Precedence Diagram Method (PDM). The results showed that projects with many activities can be decomposed using network planning to plan each activity in the project. Thus, in future research, this network planning can be used to identify which set of activities takes the longest time and can be analyzed further to speed up the processing time of sub-activity tips on the project.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini memaparkan alur kerja teknik end-to-end untuk pengembangan mesin pengiris kunyit, yang meliputi desain berbantuan komputer (CAD), analisis metode elemen hingga (FEM), dan pengujian fisik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan menganalisis struktur mesin pemotong kabel tipe pengiris yang dimaksudkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pemotongan kabel skala industri. Desain mesin dikembangkan dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak Autodesk Fusion 360, yang mendukung pemodelan 3D yang komprehensif, analisis tegangan, dan simulasi struktur. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan Finite Element Method (FEM) untuk mengevaluasi kekuatan, deformasi, dan distribusi tegangan pada struktur rangka mesin. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan faktor keamanan yang tinggi, dengan nilai minimum yang melebihi ambang batas operasional yang aman, deformasi maksimum yang sangat rendah, dan tegangan yang terdistribusi secara merata. Simulasi ini menunjukkan bahwa rangka dapat menahan beban operasional tanpa mengalami kegagalan struktural. Alur kerja ini menunjukkan keefektifan penggabungan CAD 3D, simulasi FEM, desain keselamatan, dan validasi eksperimental dalam menghasilkan mesin pengiris kunyit yang andal. Hal ini mengatasi kesenjangan penelitian yang diidentifikasi dalam penelitian yang sudah ada. Desain ini menekankan efisiensi material, kemudahan perakitan, dan stabilitas selama proses pemotongan. Penelitian ini juga mencakup perhitungan mekanis untuk komponen-komponen utama seperti sabuk transmisi dan torsi poros untuk memastikan kinerja dunia nyata yang optimal. Output desain menunjukkan bahwa desain berbasis simulasi secara signifikan meningkatkan prediksi kinerja, meminimalkan kesalahan, dan mempercepat pengembangan produk. Simulasi menunjukkan bahwa desain memiliki faktor keamanan tinggi dengan nilai minimum melebihi batas aman, deformasi maksimum yang sangat kecil, serta distribusi tegangan yang merata. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa rangka mesin mampu menahan beban operasional tanpa mengalami kegagalan struktural. Selain itu, desain memperhatikan efisiensi penggunaan bahan, kemudahan perakitan, dan stabilitas selama proses pemotongan. Studi ini juga menguraikan perhitungan mekanis komponen utama, seperti sabuk transmisi dan torsi poros, untuk memastikan kinerja optimal dalam operasional nyata. Dengan pendekatan desain terintegrasi dan simulasi berbasis perangkat lunak. ABSTRACT This study details an end-to-end engineering workflow for the development of a turmeric slicing machine, encompassing computer-aided design (CAD), finite element method (FEM) analysis, and physical testing. This research aims to design and analyze the structure of a slicing-type cable-cutting machine intended to meet industrial-scale cable-cutting demands. The machine design was developed using Autodesk Fusion 360 software, which supports comprehensive 3D modelling, stress analysis, and structural simulation. The study was conducted using the Finite Element Method (FEM) to evaluate strength, deformation, and stress distribution on the machine frame structure. Simulation results reveal a high safety factor, with minimum values exceeding safe operational thresholds, very low maximum deformation, and evenly distributed stress. This simulation indicates that the frame can withstand operational loads without structural failure. The workflow demonstrates the effectiveness of combining 3D CAD, FEM simulation, safety design, and experimental validation in producing reliable turmeric slicing machinery. It addresses a pronounced research gap identified in existing studies. Additionally, the design emphasizes material efficiency, ease of assembly, and stability during the cutting process. The study also includes mechanical calculations for key components such as transmission belts and shaft torque to ensure optimal real-world performance. This research successfully delivers a technically reliable machine design suitable for modern cable manufacturing applications by combining integrated design and simulation tools. The results demonstrate that simulation-based design significantly enhances performance prediction, minimizes errors, and accelerates product development.
