Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of regional government expenditure in the tourism and trade sectors on the non-oil and gas Gross Regional Domestic Product (non-oil GRDP) and its impact on Local Own-Source Revenue in Bontang City, both directly and indirectly. A quantitative approach employing path analysis was used to identify causal relationships among the variables. The study utilizes ten years of time-series secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics and official regional financial documents. The findings indicate that government expenditure in the tourism sector has a positive and significant effect on the non-oil GRDP. In contrast, expenditure in the trade sector shows a positive but statistically insignificant effect on the non-oil GRDP. Furthermore, the non-oil GRDP demonstrates a positive and significant effect on Local Own-Source Revenue. The path analysis also reveals an indirect effect of tourism-sector expenditure on Local Own-Source Revenue through the non-oil GRDP, suggesting that increasing budget allocation for tourism can strengthen local economic activities and ultimately enhance regional fiscal income. Conversely, the indirect effect of trade-sector expenditure on Local Own-Source Revenue through the non-oil GRDP is not significant. Overall, these results highlight the strategic role of the tourism sector in driving regional economic performance and strengthening local fiscal capacity.

Abstract

Purpose – To assess in-service Teacher Professional Education (Pendidikan Profesi Guru, PPG) students’ perceptions of lecturer competence in providing learning services in the in-service PPG program at the Teacher Education Institute (LPTK) of IAIN Pontianak. The research rationale refers to the demands of the 21st century, Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK), and the utilization of the Learning Management System (LMS). Design/methods/approach – Descriptive cross-sectional quantitative survey; 215 students were invited, 177 valid responses were analyzed (≈82,3%). Data were collected through a questionnaire. Descriptive analysis summarized domain scores; construct validity was evaluated with PLS (outer loadings ≥ 0,50) and reliability with Cronbach’s alpha (SPSS 22.0). Findings – All 27 items met the loading threshold. High reliability: pedagogical α=0,907 (9 items), professional α=0,888 (7), personality α=0,884 (6), social α=0,839 (5). Perceptions of lecturer competence “very good”: pedagogical 93,09%; professional 92,94%; personality 93,53%; social 93,08%. Item diagnostics highlighted areas for improvement: diversity of assessment, integration of research findings, consistency of words–actions, as well as lecturers’ closeness in recognizing students. Research implications – Program priorities: assessment literacy, research-based teaching, professional role modeling, and relational lecturer–student practices; calibration of assessment aligned with learning contracts/indicators; optimize the LMS so that the admin role is supportive, not substitutive.

Abstract

Objective: This study analyzes the psychological warfare strategies employed by the Japanese military in the forced recruitment of Jugun Ianfu during World War II in Java, Indonesia. Using William E. Daugherty’s framework, it examines propaganda, coercion, and ideological manipulation in Banten Bay, Indramayu, and Kragan, and explores their implications for fostering students’ historical empathy. Method: A qualitative historical case study approach was adopted. Data were collected from historical archives, survivor testimonies, military records, and secondary sources, and analyzed thematically using Daugherty’s psychological warfare model. Results: The findings reveal four systematic stages of psychological warfare: deceptive recruitment promises, ideological normalization through imperial doctrines, collaboration with local intermediaries, and sustained trauma reinforced by sexual violence and social stigma. These mechanisms demonstrate that the Jugun Ianfu system functioned as a structured strategy of domination with long-term psychological consequences for survivors. Novelty: This study integrates psychological warfare theory with survivor-centered historiography and history education. It highlights how analyzing wartime sexual violence through a structured theoretical framework can support the development of students’ historical empathy and ethical historical consciousness.
