Abstract

Mesin diesel yang ada di di PT. XXX Industri Textil Bandung fungsi utamanya untuk memproduksi daya listrik, selama prosesnya, mesin ini mengeluarkan gas buang yang dibuang ke lingkungan pada temperatur 400oC dengan laju aliran massa sebesar 3,03 kg/s pada tekanan 2 bar, hal ini merupakan potensi energi panas yang cukup tinggi dan jika tidak dimanfaatkan maka akan terbuang sia-sia. Untuk memanfaat energi panas tersebut, telah direncanakan sebuah Heat Exchanger (HE) atau APK (Alat Penukar Kalor) untuk memproduksi uap yang akan ditransfer ke unit  pengering kain, sehingga unit pengering kain tersebut kebutuhan steamnya tidak disupply lagi dari unit boiler. HE/APK yang direncanakan tersebut adalah jenis shell and tube, dengan air pada sisi tube dan gas panas (gas buang dari mesin diesel) pada sisi shell. Pada sisi tube, laju aliran air yang masuk HE/APK adalah 0,02 kg/s pada temperature 28oC dan tekanan 1,5 MPa dengan temperatur keluar direncanakan pada 200oC. Pada sisi shell, laju aliran gas panas (gas buang dari mesin diesel) adalah sebesar 3,03 kg/s pada tekanan 2 bar. Jika HE/APK yang direncanakan ini dipasang dan dioperasikan dengan kapasitas produksi uap atau laju aliran air tersebut diatas, maka konsumsi solar untuk steam generator (boiler) hanya sebesar 1000 liter/hari. Jadi dengan adanya alat ini, kebutuhan bahan bakar solar untuk boiler diharapkan bisa dihemat sebesar 33,33 %, sehingga bisa menurunkan ongkos produksi..

Abstract

In technology that is currently very advanced, especially in the field of engineering or automotive, there are many types of motorcycles and each has its advantages and disadvantages. The more advanced the technology, the more different motorcycles from time to time starting from fuel economy, increased engine performance and other supporting technologies, motorcycles are required to be operated or run on various road conditions. However, the engine that functions as the prime mover on a motorcycle cannot do well what the road conditions require or demand. For example, when the road is climbing, a motorcycle requires a large torque (torque) but the speed or speed of the motorcycle required is low. In planning the engine elements this time, the author will calculate the diameter of the shaft and the effectiveness factor as well as the actual braking time on the front wheel disc brakes of the 2014 Yamaha Vixion 150 cc motorcycle, which is one of the engine elements. An axle and brake must have a proper and sturdy construction to support the load and keep the engine speed to function properly and the brake effectiveness factor must also be following what has been planned. From the calculation results obtained, the diameter of the shaft specification on the Yamaha Vixion 150cc motorcycle is 17 mm while the diameter of the calculation is 16.33 mm and the effectiveness factor of the front disc brake of the Yamaha Vixion 150cc is 0.60.Keywords: Technology, Shaft diameter, Effectiveness factor, Disc brake

Abstract

Wimcycle Mountain bike (MTB) biasa dikenal dengan sepeda gunung. Sepeda ini cocok digunakanuntuk pengendara yang senang berpetualang di alam bebas. Di desain agar dapat menaklukan jalanan alam bebas atau pegunungan yang tidak mulus dan menantang. Mengenai elemen mesin, rem pada sepeda wimcycle MTB ini sangat penting untuk mengurangi kecepatan disaat sedang berkendara. Rem depan pada sepeda wimcycle MTB ini menggunakan system rem disc brake, sehingga pengereman pada sepeda ini lebih aman karena pengereman menggunakan disc brake tidak perlu menggesek velg pada sepeda seperti sepeda terdahulu. Abstract

Mixer tank is used to homogenize a fluid and prevent deposition in the fluid. The material in the main components of the tank, namely the main tank and agitator, uses 316L stainless steel while supporting components such as frames and accessories use stainless steel 304. The production process is carried out in the Workshop Department area, components are manufactured based on the design that has been made by the engineering / drafter. Machines used in the production process include rolling machine, hydraulic shear machine, hydraulic pressbrake machine, turning machine, milling machine, metalex fabrication equipment (or commonly called coak machine), welding machine, grinding machine and plasma cutting. Abstract

As the development of science is always accompanied by high-technology applications, innovation is needed to support the implementation of a technology. Almost all human activities are currently assisted by tools. Most of the families in Indonesia has a TV antenna. However, There are difficulties in the installation of antenna stick. Therefore, designing a tool in the form of a stick that can be elongated/shortened automatically is necessary for ease of use. The tool is called "Telescopstick". In addition, to be a tool for TV antenna pole, it is designed for multifunctional purpose because there is a joint at the end of this tool that can be connected with other tools, so it can serve as a substitution of a lamp, duster and etc. This tool is designed to be robust and lightweight, made of polyethylene pipe in a consideration of the functions and needs of this tool. The mechanism of this tool is basically a pulley system that enables the change of its length dimension through the pull of wire. The wire pulling mechanism itself utilizes 12 Volt DC electric motor with energy provided by a battery. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method is employed to design this tool because it focuses on a consumer-needs-based design process. The results show that the tool can replace conventional sticks which are easily destroyed and difficult to install and the availability of spare parts are easily obtained as well. The findings of this study can be used as effectively as possible for future research.Keywords: Telescopstick Design, Innovation, Polyethylene, Quality Function Deployment

Abstract

Indonesia sebagai negara tropis mempunyai potensi energi surya yang tinggi dengan radiasi harian rata-rata (insolasi) sebesar 4,5 kWh/m2/hari. Potensi ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber energi alternatif tersedia sepanjang tahun. Energi surya banyak di terapkan di berbagai kegiatan industri dan kegiatan di masyarakat, dalam pennelitian ini kami mencoba mendesain mesin tepung terubuk yang di jalankan oleh energi surya ( solar cell ). Sehingga energi surya ( solar cell ) yang termasuk energi terbarukan akan terbiasa digunakan oleh masyarakat di daerah pedesaan maupun industri. Dalam proses pembuatan mesin penggiling terubuk untuk menghasilkan tepung maka dirancang suatu alat yang dapat menghancurkan terubuk menjadi berbentuk tepung yang halus, dan membuat bentuk dari mesin penggiling yang portabel. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode perancangan dan observasi. Hasil penelitian diperoleh desain mesin penggiling tepung terubuk dengan energi surya dengan spesifikasi rangka dengan panjang 552 mm, lebar 135 mm, tinggi 225 mm, dengan daya yang dibutuhkan untuk menggerakkan electromotor DC 3000 rpm pada mesin penepung ini adalah sebesar 60 watt dan sumber daya yang dihasilkan berasal dari aki 12V 20 AH. daya modul solar cell yang dibutuhkan untuk menggerakan mesin penepung ini yaitu sebesar 100 wp. Indonesia as a tropical country has a high potential for solar energy with an average daily radiation (insolation) of 4.5 kWh/m2/day. This potential can be utilized as an alternative energy source available throughout the year. Solar energy is widely applied in various industrial activities and activities in the community, in this study we tried to design the ultimate flour machine that is run by solar energy (solar cell). So that solar energy (solar cell) which includes renewable energy will be used by people in rural and industrial areas. In the process of making the ultimate grinding machine to produce flour, a tool is designed that can crush the terubuk into a fine powder, and make the shape of a portable grinding machine. The method used is the observation design method. The results showed that the design of the terubuk flour milling machine with solar energy with a frame specification of 552 mm long, 135 mm wide, 225 mm high, with the power required to drive a 3000 rpm DC electromotor on this flour machine is 60 watts and the resulting power source comes from a 12V 20 AH battery. The power of the solar cell module needed to drive this flour machine is 100 wp.

Abstract

In the industrial world, the belt conveyor is the most widely used material transfer tool. In addition to moving materials, conveyor belts also make human work more effective and efficient. This research is a quantitative study by direct observation to the field and analyzing the conveyor bell system. The result of this research is the maximum carrying capacity at PT. XYZ on the coir conveyor belt is 14618.9 kg/m, while the maximum capacity on the pulp conveyor belt is 46.932.48 kg/m3 and the motor power requirement at PT. Abstract

Machine maintenance is early access or pre-planned maintenance of the problems that occur in each machine unit and has become an important part of today’s industry to avoid breakdowns because it can save costly errors, keep production continuing with standar machines, reduce waste and also important to deployment security. The research was conducted using the observation method and adapted to the literature study. The purpose of this research is to produce an effective and efficient production process in terms of the company’s human and material resources. The result of this study are from the two methods used, namely preventive maintenance and the breakdown method, at the daily check points it is found that the spindle, handle, and worktable / worktable often experience wear and tear, therefore before starting work you must check the engine lubricant in that section, is still there or remains a little. So it can extend the life of the machine.

Abstract

Plastic is a material that can be used as a substitute for metal, this is because the material has advantages, such as light weight, corrosion resistance, and relatively cheap price. There are several types of plastics such as polyethylene, teflon, polysulfone, polypropylene, acrylonitrile-butadine-styrene (ABS), and so on (1). ABS plastic is the most widely used material for chrome plating. The butdine portion is evenly distributed in the acrylonitrile-styrene matrix, making ABS plastics have advantages such as metal being easier to stick to the substrate, low coefficient of thermal expansion, easy to print, and improved aesthetic appearance (2). Behind the advantages possessed, ABS plastic has weaknesses including hardness, less high friction resistance, and at low temperatures it is easy to damage. To overcome this deficiency, one of the methods used is by electroplating the krum, with variations in temperature, 40°C, 50°C and 60°C, as well as variations in lectroplating time of 10 minutes, 20 minutes, and 30 minutes. . The tests carried out are measuring the adhesive strength of the coating results and the thickness of the layer. The results showed that the temperature and time in the electroplating process affected the adhesion of the coating and the thickness of the layer, where the highest value of adhesion was the variation of time of 30 minutes and a temperature of 40°C with a value of 0.41 MPa and the lowest value of adhesion at a time variation. 10 minutes and a temperature of 60°C with a thickness value of 0.06 MPa. And the highest thickness value is with a time variation of 30 minutes and a temperature of 60°C with a thickness value of 35 m and the lowest thickness value at a time variation of 10 minutes and a temperature of 40°C, 50°C with a thickness value of 20 m

Abstract

Shafts, pulleys and belts are one component of a washing machine that are no less important than other components. These components function to continue the rotation of the motor to the washing machine tube that will be driven. This study aims to redesign and analyze the three components. The method used is an experimental method with qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of the analysis show that the diameter of the drive shaft is 8mm with the type of material in the form of carbon steel, the diameter of the drive and driven pulley is 71 mm and 135.8 mm and the material for the cast iron pulley and the type of v-belt used is type A.
