This study aimed to analyze the type of speech acts and the classification This text discusses the importance of language as a system of communication between speakers and listeners, and how language is used to convey feelings or share information through speech acts. illocutionary acts refer to the intended meaning of a statement. It is an example of a form of speech act that has been culturally defined and is distinguished by a distinctive illocutionary force. For instance, making promises, giving advice, and making threats are all instances of illocutionary activities. Speech acts theory looks at the pragmatic function of utterances.The theory is premised on the belief that language is used to perform actions. Films are cultural products produced by certain cultures that help individuals of various languages and cultures to communicate with one another. The text presents a literature review that discusses the different types of illocutionary acts and how they are used in human communication. Finally, the text presents the research methodology, findings, and discussion of a study that analyzes the types of illocutionary acts used in the conversations of season 2 of "The Summer I Turned Pretty." The study uses a qualitative method to analyze the data and identifies representative and directive illocutionary acts in the conversations. Overall, the text provides an overview of the importance of language and speech acts in human communication, and how they are studied in the field of pragmatics.

This study aims to analyze the representation of the outdoor sign from the Mahabharata story on the outdoor sign at Pandawa Beach–Kutuh Bali. Pandawa Beach is one of the new tourism destinations in the Badung district which has good tourism potential. The beauty of the beach was initially hidden than known by the public, it required hard work from all parties. To disseminate information on the naming of the hidden beach in this village, an outdoor sign is shown as a representation of the historical value of the Pandawa Beach tourist attraction. This research is field research with qualitative data analysis to examine the appearance of outdoor signs at Pandawa Mbeach attractions. Kutuh Village's traditional figure is the participant in this study. The method of this research is field research by observation method at Pandawa Beach. The technique of collecting data by checking the list, interview, and documentation of the outdoor sign using a digital camera. The method of analyzing data was the qualitative method which was divided into some techniques such as quantification of qualitative data and subject interpretation data. The representation of the Mahabharata Story in Outdoor Sign at Pandawa Beach was analyzed using the theory of four communicative choices. The results of this study indicate that four communication choices were found in the data, such as Language Choice, Pragmatic Choice, Code Choice, and Audience Choice. Based on the result of analyzing data, it can be found that the cultural representation of the outdoor signs at Pandawa Beach is the story of Mahabharata.

This study investigated the types also functions of code-switching in Prilly Latuconsina's speak up on the Domani Siblings Podcast on YouTube. The analysis was as per Poplack's (1980) theory of code-switching types also Appel & Muysken's (1987) theory of code-switching functions. A descriptive-qualitative approach was employed. Data were collected through observation, video analysis, also note-taking. The result of this study finding were 82 datas. The findings revealed all types of code-switching: inter-sentential switching 3, tag switching 18, also intra-sentential switching 61, along with five functions: metalinguistic function 16, directive function 14, poetic function 3, expressive function 4, also referential function 45.

The objective of this study is to identify the specific instances in which the maxims of conversation are deliberately violated in the movie “Me Before You”. The movie serves as the primary data source for this investigation. The data in this study was gathered through the utilization of a content analysis methodology and a note-taking approach. The data is studied utilizing qualitative methodologies and interactive model analysis, encompassing data collection, reduction, exploration, drawing conclusions, and verification. Two theories used to analyze research findings. The leading theory is from Grice's (1975) Logic and Conversation, and the second theory is The Shameless Liar's Guide by Christofferson (2005). The research findings show there are sixteen flouting maxims in the film Me Before You. The flouting maxim of quantity becomes the flouting maxim with the highest frequency, ten times (62,5%). However, each of the violations committed by the characters in Me Before You does not interfere with the overall flow of communication.

This study aims to analyse the conative function used in advertisement of covid-19 vaccine socialization. This research is a qualitative descriptive research and uses a quantitative approach. This study uses theory by (Jacobson's, 1980) to analyse data. Then combined with questionnaire data and interviews to find out the respondent's view of the public service advertisements for the covid-19 vaccine socialization. The results of this study stated that there are several simple sentences used to emphasize that the public service advertisement of the covid-19 vaccine socialization aims to invite readers to participate in the covid-19 vaccine program. Questionnaire data stated that as many as 58% of the public were interested and influenced to take part in the covid-19 vaccine after reading public service advertisements. As many as 78% of readers thought that the public service advertisement was very clear so that it could be easily understood by readers. The use of simple sentence structure makes the sentence a communicative sentence. Then 60% of the public stated that the public service advertisement of the covid-19 vaccine socialization was effective in providing complete information to readers. so as to change the mindset of the reader to believe the information contained in the advertisement.

The study focuses mainly on the thematic and thematic development patterns observed in The Wicked King Novel. This study employs qualitative techniques and descriptive designs to test the data. The information was provided by renowned novelist Holly Black. Thematic development patterns were examined utilizing Paltridge theory (2006), Rheme theory (2004), and Halliday theory (2004) in the evaluation of the data. The study indicated that the Reiterated/Constant Theme Pattern was the most prevalent in thematic progression patterns, with Participant being the most dominant Topical Theme in the Thematic Progression type. Based on the outcome, it was found that topical theme as participant is 9 sentences, topical theme as circumstance is 8 sentences, and topical theme as process is 4 sentences, so the total of topical theme is 21 sentences (65, 5%), textual theme with 5 sentences (15, 6%), and interpersonal theme with 6 sentences (18, 17%). So, based on the data, topical themes are the most common.

This study examine expressive illocutionary actions Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse are main subject of this study. Aim of this research is to categorise the forms of expressive illocutionaries. actions in the speech and the situation's context in the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse movie. The researcher used Halliday and Hassan's (1985) situational context and Searle's (1979) categorization theory of illocutionary actions in this investigation. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative technique to analyse the data. given that the findings may take the form of words or phrases. Using the data source from this study, the researcher successfully classified five distinct expressive illocutionary acts. According to this study's findings, every character in the movie made 25 utterances that demonstrated expressive speech actions. We categorize ten statements as indicative of gratitude, five as evocative of compliments, four as apologetic, two as expressive of complaint, and four as expressive of protest. This movie's expression of gratitude is the most prominent.

Abstract: This research examines the form of implementing the local wisdom ideology of Tri Hita Karana in preventing and overcoming the spread of the Covid-19 virus in Bali. The central government, through its policies, has dealt with this epidemic, both at the central and regional levels, including in Bali. In addition to implementing the policies of the central government to prevent and cope with this outbreak, Bali itself attempts to make use of its ideology in dealing with the pandemic. This local ideology is known as Tri Hita Karana. The problem raised in this study is how to implement the ideology of local wisdom in preventing and overcoming COVID-19 in Bali. The purpose of this research is to understand the implementations of local wisdom in Bali that useful in preventing and overcoming COVID-19. The method used is the empirical method, data collection techniques with interviews, questionnaires, and literature. The theory used is structural functional theory, social change theory which supported by concept of local wisdom. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of local wisdom in Bali can effectively and efficiently prevent and cope with COVID-19. An interesting finding of this article is precisely when local wisdom is Tri Hita Karana implemented on a daily basis to deal with Covid-19. The beginning the standard was Prahyangan, Pawongan and Palemahan, however, in this implementation it changed to become Pawongan, Palemahan then Prahyangan.

This program aims to give English training to Educator at SMP Angkasa, Tuban-Kuta, Bali. In general, the priority problems faced by educators in SMP Angkasa are the low quality of spoken and written English communication in understanding English vocabulary which is often used in the learning process. This is due to a lack of mastery of English vocabulary, lack of understanding of English theory, and lack of motivation to improve their English language skills. Besides that, most of the educators at SMP Angkasa are educators from various disciplines, so mastering English for them is not a priority. The training is focused on providing material on how to communicate well in transferring learning materials to students by communicating in English. Enrich the vocabulary that is often used by educators in the implementation of the teaching and learning process. This community service activities uses methods in the form of application of science and technology with an orientation towards providing English language training and training in communication skills through lectures, demonstrations, and questions and answers. From the English training given to educators at SMP Angkasa, it can be seen that the progressive progress of the trainees towards the use of English for oral and written communication. The progress in communication is evidenced by the use of English when delivering material in class. Furthermore, the ability to listen to the simple spoken conversations of the trainees has also increased, which can be seen during the training. Teachers use full English as the language of instruction during training and trainees can carry out the instructions given at that time well. Finally, there is progress in the ability to read and write simple information from the trainees. This is evidenced by the teaching material prepared by the training participants which is compiled in English and then discussed with the students in their respective classes also in the language of instruction is English.

This study focuses on the language function used by the main character in the movie "Spiderman: No Way Home". The aim is to trace the use of language functions and describe the dominant types of language functions used in the film "Spiderman: No Way Home". The data is the dialogue of the main characters in the movie "Spiderman: No Way Home". This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative research. The findings show that there are six types of language functions used by the main character in the movie "Spiderman: No Way Home". They are expressive, directive, referential, metalinguistic, phatic, and poetic. The most dominant type of language function is metalinguistics. This study aims to determine the grammar used in the film "Spiderman: No Way Home". This film is intended for all ages because it is a family film and it can be seen by children. The theory used is anchovy from Halliday (1978). The study found the context of the function of the message conveyed and the pronunciation of the main character in the movie "Spiderman: No Way Home". It can then be revealed how language works and how to pronounce it.
