Self-efficacy was measured using the Self-Efficacy Questionnaire for Prevention of HIV/AIDS Risky Behavior. The analysis in this study used the Chi-square test. The parenting style that is widely applied to adolescents is democratic parenting, and the majority have self-efficacy while preventing HIV/AIDS risky behavior. There is a significant relationship between parenting style and self-efficacy in preventing HIV/AIDS risky behavior with a p-value of 0.026. Health services can educate parents about the importance of parenting to increase self-efficacy in adolescents, especially in terms of preventing HIV/AIDS risky behavior.

This study aims to analyze the relationship between peer social support and stress levels in the elderly. The research design in this study was quantitative analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was 59 elderly living in the Tresna Werdha Social Institution. The measuring tool for this study used a Peer Social Support Questionnaire and the Stress Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ). The correlation test in this study used was the Spearman correlation test. The results of this study indicate that most of the elderly are in the moderate category of stress, with as many as 37 respondents (62.7%), and have peer social support in the positive category, namely 53 respondents (89.8%). Based on the Spearman correlation test, it was found that p-value = 0.001, which means that there is a correlation between peer social support and stress. Spearman's correlation value of -0446 indicates that the direction of the correlation is negative, with the strength of the relationship being. The higher the value of peer social support, the lower the stress on the elderly. Tresna Werdha Social Institution health workers can motivate the elderly so they can increase peer social support and improve programs that benefit the elderly.

Abstract

Farmers have heavy work demands, so farmers are at risk of injury and work-related illnesses such as mental stress disorder. This study analyzed the relationship between self-efficacy and work stress in tobacco farmers. The research design used is the analytic correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique uses probability sampling with cluster sampling. The sample for this research is tobacco farmers who are members of the farmers' group, with a sample size of 100 respondents. The instrument used in this study was the GSE (General Self-efficacy) Questionnaire to measure self-efficacy in tobacco farmers. The DASS 42 Questionnaire (Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Scale) was used to measure work stress—data analysis using the Pearson test correlation test. The average tobacco farmer has high Self-Efficacy and low work stress. The results of the Pearson test, namely the p-value of 0.001 with a correlation value of -0.419, show a relationship between self-efficacy and work stress with a moderate correlation level with a negative correlation direction. Nurses are expected to carry out counseling activities for tobacco farmers to prevent work stress and increase self-efficacy in tobacco farmers.

This study aims to analyze the description of the coping mechanisms used by farmers in dealing with psychosocial problems. The method used in this study was a literature review article from article search engines such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct which was analyzed using the PRISMA technique by including articles published in the last 5 years. The results of the study found that the impact of psychosocial problems experienced by farmers includes stress, worry and fear at work, can cause burnout, even threats of suicide because of the demands of the head of the family. Therefore it is necessary to have an appropriate coping mechanism in solving psychosocial problems experienced by farmers. STH (Soil Transmitted Helmints) worm infection is a disease that often occurs in people who live in agro-industrial areas, especially in people who work as farmers. Someone often underestimates this disease, even though if this disease attacks adults, it can cause it to occur decline in health conditions and work productivity. One way to prevent worms namely by promoting a clean and healthy life. This study aimed to determine whether there was a relationship between infection and the nutritional status of farmers. This study utilized a literature review to examine further the relationship between STH worm infections and nutritional status in an agronursing environment. The method used was a narrative literature review or traditional review. The literature search was conducted through article search engines, including Google Scholar and Research Gate. The results of the 10 articles found that the nutritional status and STH infection were not significantly affected, while some articles revealed that nutritional status based on upper arm circumference had a significant association with infectious disease morbidity.

Abstract

Being a farmer who works directly in the environment certainly has many risks at work, one of which is the occurrence of unwanted events that can threaten the health of farmers. Some problems are classified as emergencies and must be handled immediately to avoid fatalities. One example is the occurrence of snake bite emergencies in farmers. This study aims to determine some emergencies in agricultural areas and how to provide first aid. The method used in this study was a literature review of articles from article search engines such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct analyzed using the PRISMA technique by including articles published in the last five years. The results found that emergencies that often occur in agricultural areas include venomous snake bites, pesticide poisoning, contracting dengue fever from mosquitoes, and rat bites that cause rat-bite fever. First aid methods that can be performed on someone whom a snake has bitten are by calming the victim, immobilizing the victim's entire body by laying him in the recovery position and immobilizing the affected body part using either a sling, splint, or pressure bandage immobilization (PBI) method. Nurses have a role in educating and counseling farmers on how to first aid someone who experiences snake bites, rat bites that cause rat bite fever, and drowning in fishermen.

Abstract

The spread of leptospirosis worldwide shows a high incidence rate. The disease is transmitted through the urine of animals infected with leptospira bacteria. Factors that can affect the incidence of leptospirosis are gender, age, uncovered food storage, the presence of rats, the presence of pets and contact with standing water. The writing method used is literature review. The literature search used Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect databases with the period 2019-2023. The results of a review of 10 national and international journal articles show that leptospirosis has considerable potential for farmers because the spread occurs directly through blood or urine containing germs into the human body, and indirect transmission can occur through stagnant water, rivers, lakes, drains, and mud contaminated by animal urine. The harmful effects of spreading leptospirosis in an agricultural environment can lead to infection in humans and livestock. Early symptoms in humans include fever, headache, and nausea. If not treated promptly, the disease can progress to a more serious and potentially life-threatening condition. Therefore, the role of nurses in monitoring the health of farm animals and educating farmers on preventive measures is crucial in maintaining animal health and keeping the agricultural sector sustainable.

Abstract

Vegetable farmers risk being infected with Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) due to frequent direct contact with soil contaminated by STH eggs. Worm infections transmitted through the soil cause disturbances in the tissues and organs of the body by taking nutrients from the vegetable growers' bodies, which can cause serious complications. The search process was carried out using a literature review using four databases, namely Google Scholar, Science Direct, WorldCat, and PubMed, with a publication range of 2018-2023. From all search results, ten articles match the research criteria. The results showed that vegetable farmers who have good personal hygiene can reduce the risk of STH infection. The presence of health workers here is expected to enable them to carry out health promotion, health education, and outreach to the community, especially to vegetable farmers, regarding good personal hygiene to prevent STH transmission.
