Abstract

ABSTRACT        The research was conducted from August to December 2018. The research aims to evaluate improvement of the quality of Water Hyacinth Leaf Meal (WHLM) (Eichhornia crassipes) fermented with cow rumen liqour (CRL) as feed ingredients for jelawat (Leptobarbus hoeveni) seeds. The research was conducted in three stages. First stage: CRL activated with and without carbon as a WHML fermenter. The WHML proximate test results showed that the best treatment was CRL with the addition of carbon which produced 16.66% protein, 2.26% fat, 19.5% crude fiber and 13.44% ash. Second stage: CRL with the addition of carbon is used in different doses, by adding CRL 0, 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 ml/kg WHML. Organoleptic and proximate tests showed that the best treatment was CRL 300 ml/kg WHML (P3) which produced a score of 3.73 aroma, 2.02 texture. Decreased crude fiber content from 20.04% to 16.80% and increased protein content from 11.315% to 13.32%, decreased fat content from 1.08% to 0.33%. Third stage: CRL treatment of 300 ml/kg WHML (P3) was tested for enzyme activity and digestibility of the ingredients. The highest enzyme activity was the amylase enzyme activity, namely 5.792 U/ml and 23.74-32.44% digestibility. Keywords : Water Hyacinth Leaves, Cow Rumen Liqour, Fermentation, Digestibility

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research has been implemented in April-May 2019 at Fish Nutrition Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine science Faculty, the University of Riau. The purpose of this research was to determine the best percentage fermented cacao rind flour (FCRF) in artificial feed to increase the growth of tilapia fingerlings. The research method use in this study was an experimented method and completely randomized design with five treatments and three replication. The treatment study were P0 (FCRF 0% + Soy Flour (SF) 100%), P1 (FCRF 30% + SF 70%), P2 (FCRF 40% + SF 60%), P3 (FCRF 50% + SF 50%), P4 (FCRF 60% + SF 40%). The best results were treatment of fermented cacao rind flour with a percentage of 50% at P3 with a absolute weight growth of 14,21 g, specific growth rate of 7,30%, 95% survival rate and feed efficiency with a value of 96,87%. The range of quality of the water at all of temperature treatmentrange between 28-31oC, pH 5-6, and oxygen concentration 5-5,9 mg/L.  Keywords:Fermented, cacao rind flour, cattle’s rumen fluid, Oreochromisniloticus.

Abstract

The research was conducted for 56 days from March to April 2015. The aim of this research was to find out respons of Catfish (Pangasius pangasius) fingerling on use of fermented is the diets. Four isonitrogenous (35% crude protein) experimental diets was formulated to contain 0, 20, 30, and 40% Fermented Rubber seed and 100, 80, 70, and 60% soybean meal (A, B, C, D, respectively). Completely randomized design (CRD) was used in this experimentThe result showed that a diet containing 40% Fermented Rubber seed and 60% soybean meal (D) support a good specific growth rate (3.03%/day), feed efficiency (31.63%,) and protein retention (26.31%.). Survival rate of fish was high (100%). It this concluded that up to 60% soybean meal can be substituted Fermented Rubber seed in the diets for freshwater catfishKey word: Diets, Fermented Rubber seed, Growth, Utilization, Pangasius pangasius

Abstract

The research wasconducted for 56 days from February toMarch2017. The aim of this research is to determine the number ofwater lettuce leaf meal fermented using cow rumen liquo (FWLL) in drets on growth and feed efficiency of Nilem (O.hasselti).This study used completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications. 300 fingerlings of O..hasselti(initial weight 12 g ) randomly divided into 15 net cages were fed five different experimental 30 % isonitrogenous diets, a control ( O%  FWLL ) meal, and four diets containing different substitution levels of FWLL meal (10, 20, 30 and 40 % , respectively) in place of soybean meal (SBM) as protein source. The results shows that fish fed with 30% FWLL meal substitution level perform the best results among four experimental diets. Based on the results of present research, 30% substitution level of FWLL meal as SBM substitution is recommended in pradical diet of O.hasselti fingerling for growth performance. Keywords: cow rumen liquor, fermentation, Osteochilus hasselti, water lettuce leaves

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research was conducted in September-November 2018. The aim of the research was of determine the percentage of usage fermented water spinach leaves (FWSL) flour in gouramy feed to produse feed efficiency and growth of gouramy seeds.  The research uses a competely randomized design (CRD) with one factor 5 treatment and 3 replications. The treatment in this research was the use of fermented water spinach leaves meal in diet different percentage namelyP0(0%FWSL), P1(20%FWSL), P2(30%FWSL), P3(40%FWSL) and P4(50%FWSL) in feed.  The results showed that the best treatment was found in P3 which was produced 74,8%feed digertibility,31,5% spesific growth rate and 41,83%feed efficiencyof gouramifingerling. Keyword:Artifical feed, Fermentation, Gouramy, Water Spinach Leaves.

The research was conducted for 56 days from April to May 2017. The aim of this research was to determine the number of water hyacinth meal fermented in fish feed formulation tambaqui (Colossoma macroponum), the effect on growth, feed efficiency and protein retention. This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor, five level treatments and three replications. The fish used in this research with size 3-5 cm in 0,4-0,5 g of weight. Fish were reared in 1 m3 in cages with the stocking density of 20/cage. Feeding trials were replacing with soybean meal with water hyacinth fermentation applied to P0 (0%), P1 (10%), P2 (20%), P3 (30%) and P4 (40%) for 35% of protein content. The result showed that fermentation of water hyacinth has significant effect (P<0,05) on growth, feed efficiency and protein retentions.
