Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kebutuhan beras sebagai bahan pangan pokok di Indonesia terus meningkat seiring dengan pertumbuhan jumlah penduduk. Untuk menjaga ketahanan pangan, peningkatan produktivitas padi menjadi hal yang sangat mendesak. SRI merupakan salah satu metode budidaya yang dapat meningkatkan produktivitas padi di Indonesia. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengedukasi kelompok tani Tunas Mudo tentang potensi budidaya padi dengan metode SRI. Metode: Kegiatan sosialisasi dilaksanakan di Desa Koto Dua Lama Kecamatan Air Hangat, Kabupaten Kerinci, Provinsi Jambi. Peserta kegiatan adalah Kelompok Tani Tunas Muda Desa Koto Dua Lama. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan ceramah dan diskusi. Sebelum dan setelah kegiatan selesai, kuesioner mengenai materi budidaya padi SRI dibagikan kepada petani yang mengikuti sosialisasi dan pendampingan. Hasil: Kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pendampingan dalam sosialisasi metode SRI yang dilakukan pada kelompok tani Tunas Muda berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman, keterampilan, dan motivasi petani untuk mengadopsi teknik budidaya SRI. Langkah selanjutnya yang perlu dilakukan adalah pendampingan secara berkelanjutan untuk memastikan implementasi metode SRI berjalan dengan baik dan memberikan dampak nyata terhadap peningkatan produktivitas padi di wilayah tersebut. Kesimpulan: Program ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman peserta sosialisasi yaitu 55% peserta cukup paham dan 45% sangat paham tentang teknik SRI. Pelatihan memberikan pengetahuan baru terkait penggunaan bibit muda, jarak tanam lebar, penyiangan dan pengelolaan tanah, dan pengaturan irigasi. Sebanyak 82% peserta berencana menerapkan metode SRI. Semua peserta (100%) menyatakan metode SRI lebih menguntungkan dibandingkan metode konvensional.

Abstract

This mixed-methods quasi-experimental study examines the impact of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) on enhancing pedagogical competencies among pre-service biology teachers (N = 60) in a Teaching Profession Course. Grounded in the TPACK framework and constructive alignment theory, the research compares PjBL implementation with conventional instruction through cognitive assessments (α = 0.87), lesson plan evaluations (κ = 0.82), motivation scales, and qualitative analysis of reflective journals and project artifacts. Quantitative results demonstrate significant improvements in the PjBL group, including superior cognitive gains (p < 0.01, d = 0.82), enhanced pedagogical design skills (p = 0.013, η² = 0.28), and increased motivation (Δ23%, p<0.001). MANOVA reveals multidimensional competency development across learning, application, and self-efficacy domains (F = 9.67–14.32). Qualitative findings highlight the successful development of context-responsive STEM modules, though challenges in time management emerged. The study provides empirical evidence for PjBL's efficacy in preparing biology educators for 21st-century challenges, offering a validated model for integrating disciplinary core ideas with pedagogical praxis. These findings advocate for curriculum reforms that incorporate scaffolded PBL experiences to bridge the theory-practice gap in teacher education.

Abstract

Payo Kerinci Rice is one of the germplasms whose existence must be maintained. This rice is one of the local rice varieties, which is quite rare. Payo rice has a relatively high economic value compared to other rice varieties. This is due to the unique and fragrant taste of the rice, so it is very popular with the public. Increased growth is one of the initial stages in projecting success in rice plant productivity. The System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method is hoped to provide an alternative for farmers in cultivating Payo Kerinci rice. The research method was carried out experimentally using divided plots by comparing the SRI and Conventional methods. The growth parameters observed were plant fresh weight, plant dry weight, number of tillers, plant height, and root length. The research results show that the SRI method provides efficiency in the need for seeds in Payo Kerinci Rice cultivation. The Payo Kerinci rice plants using the SRI single seedling method grew more than the conventional method for all observed variables.

Abstract

The main objectives of biology learning are improving the mastery of concepts, understanding biology concepts in depth and applying them in problem solving processes. The aims of this research were to design a STEM-based Biology practicum module and evaluate its effectiveness on students' conceptual understanding. The method in this research followed a quasi-experimental research procedure, with a one group pretest and posttest design. This aims to obtain more information in understanding students' concepts after going through STEM-based biology practicum learning experiences. The research subjects were 36 junior high school students. Analysis of students' understanding of concepts is based on statistical descriptive data, normality test and paired t test and N-Gain. Based on the results of the research indicate that there is a significant effect of the application of STEM-based practicum modules on conceptual understanding. Besides that the N-Gain data shows an increase in students' understanding of concepts after being taught with the STEM-based biology practicum module. In this research, it has not specifically explained the model that is applied together with the STEM-based approach. It is important to do further research to design STEM-based learning with certain learning models. Key words: Conceptual understanding, Biology, STEM Abstrak. Tujuan utama pembelajaran biologi adalah meningkatkan penguasaan konsep, memahami konsep biologi secara mendalam dan menerapkannya dalam proses pemecahan masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang modul praktikum Biologi berbasis STEM dan mengevaluasi keefektifannya terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa. Metode dalam penelitian ini mengikuti prosedur penelitian eksperimen semu, dengan one group pretest and posttest design. Hal ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi lebih dalam memahami konsep siswa setelah melalui pengalaman pembelajaran praktikum biologi berbasis STEM. Subyek penelitian adalah 36 siswa SMP. Analisis pemahaman konsep siswa berdasarkan data statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas dan uji t berpasangan dan N-Gain. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penerapan modul praktikum berbasis STEM terhadap pemahaman konsep. Selain itu data N-Gain menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa setelah diajarkan dengan modul praktikum biologi berbasis STEM. Dalam penelitian ini belum secara khusus menjelaskan model yang diterapkan bersamaan dengan pendekatan berbasis STEM. Penting dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk merancang pembelajaran berbasis STEM dengan model pembelajaran tertentu Kata kunci: Pemahaman Konsep, Biologi, STEM
