Abstract

Checking the identity of motorcycle owners when leaving the college area is a mandatory activity for security officers to ensure that vehicles entering and exiting the college are the same driver. The conventional checking process often causes the impact of vehicle queues when the volume of vehicles increases. Therefore, an intelligent system is needed to detect multi-plate vehicles automatically. One approach in the world of image detection of an object is the use of the YOLO (You Only Look Once) algorithm. This algorithm predicts bounding boxes and possible classes in a single frame. This research divides objects into 3 classes, namely vehicles, driver's faces, and vehicle plates. The dataset used was 74 varied images consisting of 50 training data, 12 validation data and 12 testing data. The image was trained using 300 epochs and a batch size of 8 and resulted in an F1 score calculation for detecting objects reaching 92%.

Abstract

This study aims to develop HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill) test instruments that are able to measure the level of students' critical and creative thinking skills in optical material. The research method used is the ADDIE Research and Development method (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, & Evaluate). The research subjects used students from Medan An-Nizam Private High School T.P 2018/2019. The study produced 20 items of test instruments consisting of multiple choices and essays showing that HOTS thinking skills (Higher Order Thinking Skill) from the study sample amounted to 39 people were 18% of students had creative thinking skills, 23% of students had Creative-Critical thinking skills, 54% of students had skills critical thinking, and 5% of students with superior skills are critical.Keywords: Development of HOTS Test Instrument, Optical Material, ADDIE Method.

Abstract

This research was conducted to map the factors that became the source of student learning difficulties in terms of the learning process and the difficulties experienced in solving Newton's style and law problems. The population of this descriptive study was all students of class VIII in Langkat Regency, while the schools that were the samples in this were students of class VIII in three schools, namely SMP Negeri 2 Stabat, SMP Seri Langkat, and SMP Negeri 3 Satu Atap. Data collection in this study was conducted using student questionnaire instruments, teacher questionnaires, learning activity observation sheets, student activity assessment sheets and essay questions. The analysis of the research results found that the factors that influence the learning difficulties of junior high school students in Langkat Regency are the weak of Utilization of Learning Resources / Learning Media, the inadequate learning which can trigger and maintain student engagement and the low ability of students to solve problems coherently. Keywords: Learning Difficulties, Descriptive Study, Observation Sheet

Abstract

Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi merupakan pendekatan inovatif yang dapat meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran dengan menyesuaikan metode, materi, dan evaluasi berdasarkan kebutuhan individu siswa. Pelatihan Optimalisasi Pembelajaran Berdiferensiasi untuk Peningkatan Mutu Pendidikan yang diselenggarakan di Universitas Negeri Medan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan dosen dalam merancang serta mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Hasil pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berdiferensiasi berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kompetensi dosen dalam menyusun rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) yang lebih inklusif dan adaptif, yang pada akhirnya berimplikasi pada peningkatan mutu pendidikan. Pembelajaran Berdiferensiasi Implementasi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi memiliki beberapa implikasi signifikan dalam dunia pendidikan diantaranya meningkatkan kualitas dosen, mendukung pembelajaran inklusif, meningkatkan motivasi dan partisipasi mahasiswa, mempersiapkan calon guru yang lebih adaptif dan meningkatkan mutu pengajaran

Abstract

Writing scientific articles is an essential academic competency for students of the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program. However, many students face difficulties in understanding research methodology, academic structure, as well as data processing and scientific language. To address this issue, Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED) initiated a Collaboration for Scientific Article Writing Assistance involving lecturers, mentor teachers, and PPG students. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method to evaluate the program’s effectiveness. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis of article drafts before and after the mentoring sessions. The results show that this mentoring program improved students’ academic competencies, with 85% of participants acknowledging the benefits of the guidance in understanding the structure and quality of scientific writing. Additionally, 70% of students expressed high satisfaction with the program, with the increased number of articles submitted to national and international journals serving as an indicator of its success. However, challenges remain, such as limited time and restricted access to scientific references. Therefore, it is recommended to improve access to academic resources and develop online platforms to support more flexible mentoring. Overall, the results of this study affirm that academic mentoring collaboration is an effective strategy to enhance the scientific writing skills of PPG students and strengthen the academic culture in higher education environments.

Abstract

The research was conducted due to the lack of interesting learning media, thus making students' interest in physics subjects to study physics low and resulting in unsatisfactory student learning outcomes.  This research aims to develop digital student worksheets based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on hydrostatic pressure material for grade XI high school. This research is a Research & Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model which consists of stages (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects of this study were students of grade XI high school. The results of feasibility validity by experts analyzed with Aiken'V index obtained a result of 0.82 with a very feasible category.  The results of practicality by teachers 95% (very practical), students in small groups 90% (very practical), and large groups 86.44% (very practical) and in the effectiveness test obtained the results of the gain score of the difference between pretest and posttest scores showed an average in small groups of 0.76 while in large groups 0.77 with the effective category.  Based on this information, it is concluded that the PBL-based student worksheet on hydrostatic pressure material developed by researchers and tested at SMA Negeri 2 Binjai is feasible to use, very practical and effective. This PBL-based digital student worksheet on hydrostatic pressure material can be a reference for the development of similar teaching materials and can be teaching materials used in schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang bahan ajar berbentuk LKPD Digital yang valid, efektif dan layak digunakan dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dan dibantu web liveworksheets pada materi suhu dan kalor. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode R&D dengan model ADDIE. Untuk mengetahui produk valid pada tahap pengembangan melibatkan 3 validator diantaranya 2 validator ahli media dan 1 validator ahli materi. Selanjutnya untuk mengetahui kepraktisan produk dapat dilihat dari hasil respon guru dan peserta didik terkait angket yang disebarkan dan juga hasil wawancara, sedangkan untuk mengetahui keefektifan produk dilakukan uji gain tenormalisasi (N-Gain). Uji coba produk terdiri dari uji coba kelas keccil yang melibatkan 10 peserta didik dan uji coba kelas besar yang melibatkan 30 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket validasi ahli media dan ahli materi serta angket respon guru dan peserta didik. Uji validasi, uji kepraktisan dan uji keefektifan pada produk menunjukkan bahwa LKPD Digital. Hasil dari validasi yang dilakukan oleh ahli materi memperoleh rata rata persentase skor sebesar 92%, validasi ahli media memperoleh skor 91% dan 95%, sehingga mendapatkan skor rata rata persentase 93% dikategorikan sangat valid tetapi dengan revisi. Hasil dari uji kepraktisan LKPD digital yang dilakukan guru memperoleh persentase skor rata rata 95% memenuhi kategori sangat praktis. Hasil pretest-posttest yang dilakukan pada kelompok kecil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar dengan skor persentase 89% dan N-Gain sebesar 0,89. Selanjutnya pretest-posttest yang dilakukan pada kelompok besar menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar dengan skor persentase 90% dan N-Gain sebesar 0,90. Hasil respon peserta didik terhadap LKPD yaitu pada kelompok kecil memperoleh rata-rata persentase sebesar 90% dan kelompok besar memperoleh rata-rata persentase sebesar 87% dengan kriteria sangat praktis, Dengan demikian, LKPD yang dikembangkan menarik dan praktis digunakan bagi peserta didik sebagai bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran fisika.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dengan menggunakan model problem based learning (PBL) pada materi pokok listrik statis kelas XII MIPA . Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian quasi eksperiment (eksperimen semu) dengan desain penelitian two group pretest-postest design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XlI MIPA berjumlah 150 siswa dalam 3 kelas di SMA Santo Mikhael Pangururan. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas yaitu kelas XlI MIPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen yeng terdiri dari 50 siswa dan XII MIPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol tersiri dari 50 siswa. Instrument tes yang mengukur kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi berjumlah 6 soal dalam bentuk essay pada materi Listrik Statis. Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji t dengan taraf signifikan 5% (0,05). Hasil data pretest dan postest kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 41,8 dan 80,02 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 41,0 dan 73,2. Hasil uji-t Memperoleh hasil 0,750 < 1,99 (Thitung < Ttabel) , Hasil Postest 0,692 < 1,984 (Thitung < Ttabel ) . Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh perbedaan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi secara signifikan dengan menerapkan PBL pada materi Listrik Statis. Penerapan PBL tidak memberi pengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a motorcycle rider registration system using facial recognition technology that can improve the efficiency of rider data management. This system is designed to identify and authenticate riders with high accuracy, thereby simplifying the registration and monitoring process. The methods used in this research include collecting rider facial data through cameras, image processing for feature extraction, and implementing a facial recognition algorithm. Testing was conducted in several locations with varying lighting conditions and viewing angles to ensure the system's robustness. The results show that the developed system is capable of achieving facial recognition accuracy of up to 95%. In addition, this system provides an intuitive user interface to facilitate the registration and data management process. With the implementation of this system, it is expected to reduce the time and costs required in managing motorcycle rider data, as well as improve safety and comfort while riding.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) Menghasilkan LKPD berbasis discovery learning berbantuan software tracker yang layak digunakan. (2) Mengetahui keefektifan LKPD berbasis discovery learning berbantuan software tracker. (3) Mengetahui respon guru dan peserta didik MAN 1 Medan terhadap LKPD berbasis discovery learning berbantuan software tracker. Jenis penelitian ini adalah research and development (R&D) dengan memodifikasi 4D. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 36 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket kelayakan materi LKPD, desain LKPD, kelayakan LKPD berbasis discovery learning, penilaian guru serta peserta didik LKPD yang dikembangkan. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini adalah deskriptif. Hasil validasi diperoleh pengembangan LKPD berbasis discovery learning berbantuan software tracker materi gerak lurus berubah beraturan tingkat kelayakan materi LKPD memperoleh persentase 89%, kelayakan desain LKPD 92% dan kelayakan LKPD berbasis discovery learning 94%. Persentase tersebut memenuhi kriteria kelayakan BSNP dalam kriteria sangat layak. Penilaian peserta didik pada sampel kecil dan besar memperoleh persentase 89,3% dan 92,7% dengan kriteria sangat layak, respon guru bidang studi pada LKPD memperoleh persentase 94% dengan kriteria sangat layak.Kata Kunci: LKPD, discovery learning, gerak lurus berubah beraturan
