Abstract

Sistem imunitas menjadi isu sentral infeksi virus COVID-19 yang berkembang di masyarakat, tidak lain adalah agar masyarakat memiliki sistem daya tahan tubuh yang kuat. Akan tetapi, tanpa pemahaman yang baik tentang sistem imun, sebuah informasi yang keliru dapat saja menyesatkan masyarakat. Pemahaman yang baik sebuah materi dapat dilatihkan melalui pembelajaran, salah satunya menggunakan model Problem based Learning (PBL). Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan penelitian eksperimen, dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Populasi penelitian ini diambil dari salah satu SMA negeri yang ada di kabupaten Karanganyar. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan November sampai dengan Desember 2021. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa nilai rerata pada pre-test sebesar 37,42 (ST-DEV 11,32) dan post-test 78,03 (ST-DEV 6,11). Rata-rata nilai gain sebesar 0,626 berada pada kategori sedang. Sebaran skor yang diperoleh sebelum menggunakan model PBL terdapat 24,2% siswa yang memperoleh skor 30 dan 35, sedangkan setelah penerapan model PBL dilakukan terdapat 30,3% siswa yang memperoleh skor 75, dan 27,3% siswa yang memperoleh skor 80. Perubahan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PBL dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Background: Bacterial resistance to antibiotics is still common due to unwise use. Urinary Tract Infections (UTI), 80% ofwhich are caused by E. coli and other bacteria such as Enterobactersp, Klebsiellasp, S. aureus. Phosphomycin is a first-line antibiotic for UTI. Combining natural compounds with antibiotics is one treatment strategy to increase the effectiveness of anti-bacterialt herapy. Andrographispaniculata has been reported to have strong anti-infectiveactivity. This study aimed to prove the differences in the germ number, leukocyte esterase levels,and urine procalcitonin levels in Rattus norvegicus UTI model given the phosphomycin, Sambilotoleaf extract, and Sambiloto leaf extract-phosphomycin combination. Methods: Thirty Rattus novergicus rats were divided into five groups. All groups were induced 50 µl of E. coli bacterial inoculum for 7 days, followed by standard feed (negative control), fosfomycin (Monuril®) 54 mg (positive control), Sambilotoleaf extract (S1 [100 mg/BW], S2 [200 mg/BW],Sambiloto leaf extract-phosphomycin combination (FS1 [sambiloto 100 mg/BW and fosfomycin 54 mg], and FS2 [sambiloto200 mg/BW and phosphomycin 54 mg]) for the next 7 days orally.The germ number, leukocyte esterase, and urine procalcitonin were measured after all rats were given treatment.  Results: The largest averagere duction in the germ number, levels of leukocyte esterase, and urinary procalcitonin (4.80 ± 3.70 CFU/ml [p<0.05], 3,00 ± 6,71 cells/µL [p<0.05], 4,66 ± 1,35 ng/L [p<0.05] respectively)was observed in the combination of 200 mg/BW Sambiloto leaf extract-phosphomycin combination group.  Conclusion: A combination of Sambiloto leaf extract and phosphomycin reduced germ number, levels of leukocyte esterase and urinary procalcitonin in rat model of UTI.

Abstract

Background: Elevated cholesterol levels are associated with hypercholesterolemia, the primary cause of death and lost productivity, and a significant risk factor for the onset of cardiovascular disease. Sorghum is known for its high bioactive components and phenolic compounds, flavonoids, β-glucans, and dietary fiber, which act as anti-cholesterol properties.Objective: This study aimed to analyze the impact of sorghum tempeh on cholesterol levels and histopathology of aorta in rats fed a high-fat diet.Methods: A total of 24 male 8-weeks-old Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned to four groups: standard diet group (SD), high-fat diet control group (FD), rats fed high-fat diet + low dose of sorghum tempeh (T1), and high-fat diet + high dose of sorghum tempeh (T2). Measurements of cholesterol levels were determined using the total cholesterol ELISA method. Histopathology of aorta analysis was carried out after four weeks of intervention of the four treatment groups using Hematoxylin-Eosin staining.Results: The average total cholesterol levels post-intervention in the SD, FD, T1, and T2 were 89.986±2.089, 220.365±3.847, 121.161±4.111, and 97.836±2.504 mg/dL, respectively. The results showed that the total cholesterol level significantly decreased (p<0.05) after giving a formula of sorghum tempeh with doses of 0.75 g and 1.50 g per 200 g body weight of rats for four continuous weeks. Histopathology of the aorta in the FD and T2 groups showed a significant difference compared to the SD group. The result which was closest to the SD group was the T1 group.Conclusion: Sorghum tempeh is a high-fiber and antioxidant source that can control hypercholesterolemia by lowering serum total cholesterol. It is also possible to improve histopathology but not yet able to approach normal conditions. The administration of sorghum tempeh with a low dose is sufficient, and further research is still required to determine the effect of sorghum tempeh on aorta histopathology.

Abstract

The instillation of moral, ethical and spiritual values in the young generation of Hindus through Pasraman education is a medium for the formation of personality and character development of students as a vehicle for the transformation of the teachings of Widhi Sradha in Hinduism which are beliefs and beliefs about the truth of Ida Sang Yang Widhi Wasa. In essence, it emphasizes the teachings of Tri Pramana which include Agama Pramana, Anumana Pramana and Pratyaksa Pramana with the principle that its implementation must be balanced in harmony between one and the other. If balance is achieved, a harmonious, peaceful and peaceful life will be realized. Pasraman Widhyasana in Sukoharjo Regency is a place to learn about learning that not only trains strengthening of the intellectual scope but balances emotional and spiritual intelligence as an institution for preparing Hindu human resources to become good citizens in the life of the nation and state based on Pancasila with the legal basis: Law No. 20 of 2003 Article 30 paragraphs 1, 3, and 4 (National Education System), Regulation of the Minister of Religion Number 56 of 2014 concerning the principles of Hindu religious education management, Government Regulation 55 of 2007 Article 1 paragraph (5) concerning Religious and Religion Education and Article 38 paragraphs (2) and (3) concerning the organization and management of pasraman.

Abstract

Air limbah yang berasal dari produksi minyak wangi mengandung beberapa bahan kimia yang mencemari lingkungan. Penambahan koagulan adalah metode pengolahan air limbah untuk menghilangkan material organik dan padatan tersuspensi yang menyebabkan timbulnya kebauan dan kekeruhan. Dengan menggunakan metode jar test, penambahan precipitants non-kuantitatif ke instalasi pengolahan air limbah (IPAL) dapat disesuaikan. Tujuan pengujian adalah menentukan pH dan kondisi optimum koagulan polyalumunium chloride (PAC) dalam pengujian dengan metode jar test berdasarkan pengurangan Total Suspended Solid (TSS) dalam limbah menggunakan metode statistik respon permukaan. Berdasarkan pengujian yang telah dilakukan, koagulan PAC memiliki kondisi optimum pada pH efluen sebesar 7,5 dengan dosis koagulan yang optimum sebesar 142,42 mg/l. Nilai efisiensi berdasarkan hasil pengujian parameter TSS sebesar 53,75%. Pengujian ini menunjukkan bahwa koagulan PAC memiliki efisiensi yang cukup tinggi dalam menurunkan nilai TSS. Abstract

A building that is sturdy, strong, secure, and effective must be designed according to building criteria from all structrural components, starting from columns, beams, floor plates, stairs, foundation, excavations, and basement structures. To build quality that meets the criteria from all aspects. Especially the building under study is a high level building that uses a rigid frame structure where the structure is a rigid connection that connect horizontal beams as well as vertical columns then connected to a plane. And all of this works together so that it is likely that this building meets the criteria for multi-story buildings and guarantees the strength of the building structure to meet its functional aspects.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang dibutuhkan di tempat kerja. Selain itu, kemampuan berpikir kritis juga membantu dalam menyelesaikan masalah dan membangun strategi terbaik sehingga mampu membuat pekerjaan yang dilakukan menjadi lebih baik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) pada pokok bahasan sistem koordinasi dan alat indra. Subjek penelitian merupakan siswa kelas XI salah satu sekolah di kabupaten Karanganyar. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan angket kemampuan berpikir kritis dan observasi lapangan, data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang dignifikan pada tiap aspek kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik antara pra-dan pasca-siklus dengan rerata pra-siklus sebesar 32,46%, siklus 1 (50%), dan siklus 2 (78,17%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemikiran kritis peserta didik dapat ditingkatkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konstruktivis-metakognitif.

Abstract

Background: Fosfomycin is the first-line of antibiotic for urinary tract infection (UTI). To prevent antibiotic resistance, antibiotics and herbal medicines combination was developed. Studies have shown that Andrographis paniculata has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agent.Objective: To investigate the effect of A. paniculata extract for treating UTI in animal modelMethods: Using post test only control group design, thirty females Rattus norvegicus rats were induced by 1 cc transurethral inoculation of E. coli and then randomly grouped into negative control (NC) received no treatment, positive control (PC) that had 54 mg fosfomycin, and treatment groups which were divided into T1 (A. paniculata 100 mg/kgBW), T2 (A. paniculata 200 mg/kgBW), T3 (fosfomycin 54 mg with A. paniculata 100 mg/kgBW), T4 (fosfomycin 54 mg with A. paniculata 200 mg/kgBW). Urinary samples were utilized to count leukocytes under microscope, nitrite levels with a dipstick, and lactoferrin using ELISA.Results: Combination of fosfomycin and A. paniculata led to a reduction in the number of leukocytes and nitrite levels compared to the single therapy group, particularly in T4 group (p<0.001). Abstract

To determine the effect of clove flower extract on the healing time of incision wounds, bacterial count and IL-10 levels in rats infected with MRSA.Method. Experimental study with a post-test-only control group design in rats that were given incisions on their backs. Random allocation was carried out to divide the Sprague Dawley rats into 6 groups (@5 rats). Healing time was assessed based on the length of days, the bacterial count was examined from the blood and then counted by culture using nutrient agar. IL-10 levels were examined from the venous blood of rats and then measured using an ELISA kit assessed by a certified microbiologist. Data were analyzed and processed using the One Way Anova - Post Hoc hypothesis test.Results. The bacterial count in the clove flower extract group was lower than the group without antibiotics and there was no difference compared to the group given antibiotics. IL-10 levels in the group given clove flower extract were lower when compared to the group given antibiotics. The wound healing time in the clove flower extract group was faster when compared to the group with or without antibiotics.Conclusion. Clove flower extract enhancewound healing in MRSA-infected rats.
