Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart boarding house meter for monitoring and recording electricity and water consumption to support accurate billing. The system integrates hardware components (sensors and microcontroller) with an Android-based application to enable real-time monitoring and automated cost calculation. This research employed the research and development (R&D) method using a prototyping model consisting of requirements analysis, prototype development, system coding, and testing. System evaluation included hardware functionality testing using black-box testing, application testing using structured test cases, and effectiveness testing by comparing sensor readings with standard measurement instruments. Data were analyzed using a descriptive quantitative approach based on percentage calculations. The results showed that both the hardware and application functions achieved a 100% success rate according to the functional testing criteria. The effectiveness test indicated an average sensor accuracy of 95%, demonstrating reliable system performance. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of electricity and water monitoring into a single IoT-based system with automated billing and remote control features. The developed system is feasible for implementation and can improve efficiency, transparency, and accuracy in boarding house utility management.

Abstract

​The efficacy of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in enhancing student learning outcomes in the Electrical Equipment Repair subject at SMK Negeri 10 Luwu was evaluated in this study. A quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group design was employed, with an experimental group (n=13) exposed to PjBL using heater repair projects and a control group (n=12) receiving conventional instructions. The independent variable was the application of the PjBL model, and student learning outcomes served as the dependent variable. Learning outcomes were assessed via pre- and post-tests supplemented by observations, questionnaires, and documentation. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test in SPSS version 26. The results indicated a significant positive influence of the PjBL model on student learning outcomes. The experimental group's average pre-test score of 28.77 significantly increased to 81.31 in the post-test, compared to the control group's increase from 26.33 to 51.00. The paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of (<0.05), confirming a statistically significant effect. Furthermore, students demonstrated a highly positive response to PjBL implementation, with 93% providing favorable feedback. These findings suggest that the PjBL model is an effective pedagogical approach for enhancing student achievement in vocational electrical equipment repairs.​

Abstract

​This study examines the influence of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ learning achievement in an Electrical Lighting Installation subject at SMK Negeri 5 Makassar. The urgency of this research arises from the persistent gap between theoretical understanding and practical application in vocational education, where teacher-centered instruction often limits engagement and problem-solving skills. Using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group, the 33 Grade XI students were divided into an experimental class (n=16) and a control class (n=17). Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, and questionnaires and analyzed using a t-test with SPSS 26. The results showed that the average post-test score in the experimental group increased from 30.19 to 83.69, while that in the control group improved from 25.18 to 69.24, with a significance value of 0.001 (<0.05), indicating that PjBL had a significant positive effect on learning outcomes. Students also responded positively to PjBL implementation (average 86%), indicating increased motivation and collaboration. These findings confirm that PjBL effectively enhanced cognitive understanding and learning engagement in vocational education. However, this study was limited by its small sample size, short intervention period, and focus on cognitive aspects only. Future studies should adopt larger samples, extended durations, and mixed-method approaches to assess the long-term impacts on psychomotor and affective competencies.​

Abstract

Instalasi listrik rumah tangga seiring dengan waktu mengalami perubahan baik secara kualitas maupun secara kuantitas. Kualitas instalasi listrik yang semakin menurun dan perubahan kuantitas titik bebannya sangat berpengaruh terhadap kelayakan instalasi listrik dan keselamatan pemakainya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat persentase kelayakan instalasi listrik rumah tangga dan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan ketidaklayakan intsalasi listrik rumah tangga. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif yang dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Marumpa, kecamatan Marusu, Kabupaten Maros. Objek yang diteliti sebanyak 51 rumah dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel secara proporsional. Instrumen yang dipakai adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah tingkat persentase instalasi listrik rumah tinggal di Kelurahan Marusu, Kecamatan Marumpa, Kabupaten Maros sebesar 43,1% layak (berjumlah 22 rumah) dan 56,9% tidak layak (berjumlah 29 rumah) dan faktor penyebab ketidaklaykan instalasi listrik disebabkan karena adanya kerusakan pada perlengkapan instalasi berupa stop kontak yang pecah/meleleh, pembumian yang telah rusak, dan tidak memiliki pembumian.

Abstract

Teachers at SD Inpres Bonto-Bontoa currently employ conventional teaching models, while students are more inclined towards technology-based instruction. Therefore, efforts are needed to bridge this gap through the implementation of training sessions. The objective of this community service is to provide training to elementary school teachers on the application of teaching methods using the Canva for Education application, aiming to make the teaching methods applied by teachers more engaging. The community service was carried out directly in the IT Room of SD Inpres Bonto-Bontoa, involving 20 teachers and attended by school supervisors, the principal, several professors, and assisted by students. The implementation of community service at SD Inpres Bonto-Bontoa, facilitated in the form of Canva For Education training, has had a positive impact on enhancing teachers' skills in developing teaching materials, serving as a crucial step in technology adaptation within the education environment.

Abstract

Mitra Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah UPT SMP Negeri 1 Masamba, Kabupaten Luwu Utara. Permasalahan spesifik yang berhasil diidentifikasi bersama oleh Tim Pengabdi dengan para guru peserta sosialisasi adalah para guru mengalami kesulitan dalam menerapkan dan membuat soal-soal HOTS pada pembelajaran, kurangnya informasi dan minimnya pelatihan dalam menyusun soal berbasis HOTS, perlunya dilaksanakan pembinaan dari pihak yang kompeten dalam menyusun soal-soal HOTS sehingga dapat diterapkan pada saat proses belajar mengajar di kelas. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini berupa pelatihan yang dimulai dengan tahapan persiapan kemudian tahap pelaksanaan. Dalam melaksanakan kegiatan pelatihan HOTS, terdapat beberapa metode yang digunakan, yaitu metode ceramah, metode tanya jawab, dan metode latihan. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 30 guru di beberapa SMP Kabupaten Luwu Utara sebagai peserta. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan HOTS bagi guru SMP, Kabupaten Luwu Utara ini berhasil sesuai dengan yang direncanakan dan memuaskan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari kesesuaian antara perencanaan dengan pelaksanaan, jumlah kehadiran peserta dalam setiap sesi materi, serta berdasarkan wawancara langsung dengan peserta. Kegiatan ini juga telah mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan motivasi para guru untuk membuat soal-soal berbasis HOTS yang akan diterapkan dalam proses belajar mengajar.

Abstract

Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Barru, Sulawesi Selatan, berfokus pada peningkatan kompetensi Guru Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) melalui pelatihan pengembangan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis website Wordwall, Canva, dan Kahoot. Kegiatan ini bertujuan membekali guru dengan keterampilan pemanfaatan teknologi digital sebagai sarana pembelajaran yang inovatif, menarik, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik. Pelatihan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk workshop tatap muka dengan metode ceramah, demonstrasi, dan praktik langsung, disertai pendampingan mulai dari pembuatan akun, perancangan media pembelajaran interaktif, hingga publikasi hasil karya pada platform Wordwall, Canva, dan Kahoot. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan antusiasme dan partisipasi aktif peserta, yang ditandai dengan keberhasilan guru menghasilkan berbagai media pembelajaran interaktif seperti kuis, teka-teki, dan permainan edukatif sesuai dengan mata pelajaran masing-masing, sekaligus meningkatkan kreativitas dan kepercayaan diri dalam berinovasi menggunakan teknologi pendidikan. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan PKM ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran di SMK Kabupaten Barru serta mendukung kebijakan pemerintah dalam percepatan transformasi dan digitalisasi pendidikan, dengan potensi untuk direplikasi pada cakupan yang lebih luas.
