Abstract

Bandara Internasional Jawa Barat (BIJB) yang berada di daerah Kecamatan Kertajati memberikan peluang besar bagi masyarakat untuk meningkatkan sosial ekonomi melalui beragam usaha dan inovasi yang mendukung keberadaan bandara. Namun kenyataannya pembangunan BIJB mengakibatkan alih fungsi lahan seluas 7.500 Ha yang semula lahan sawah (pertanian) menjadi lahan bandara. Mengakibatkan alih fungsi lahan pertanian ke non pertanian berdampak terhadap kondisi sosial ekonomi rumah tangga petani di Kertajati berupa hilangnya kesempatan kerja di bidang pertanian 197,2 HKP/ha/tahun (Rp 12.205.397,-/ha/tahun). Potensi kehilangan produksi padi sebesar 12,85 ton/ha/tahun (Rp 59.775.338,-/ha/tahun). Rata-rata kehilangan pendapatan responden dari usaha tani padi sebesar Rp 38.598.962,-/ha/tahun dan rata-rata kehilangan penghasilan sebesar Rp 3.990.223,-/tahun. Kondisi tersebut kalau dibiarkan dapat menimbulkan ketidakadilan ekonomi, kehilangan mata pencaharian dan melahirkan pengangguran baru. Hal tersebut kalau dibiarkan bisa mengakibatkan kehidupan sosial masyarakat mengalami frustasi yang sangat akut. Menyiasati hal itu Tim Pengabdian Masyarakat akan memberikan pembinaan jiwa wirausaha sekaligus memberikan keterampilan berupa mengolah limbah kulit semangka inul menjadi bahan dasar pembuatan selai dan permen jely. Alasan mengambil bahan dasar kulit semangka inul, karena daerah-daerah sekitar Desa Bantarjati adalah penghasil semangka inul dengan kualitas sangat baik. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diyakini menjadi solusi nyata bagi peningkatan pendapatan masyakat dan mampu menciptakan lapangan pekerjaan melalui inovasi mengubah limbah kulit semangka inul menjadi produk ekonomis.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berfokus pada penguatan peran orang tua sebagai mitra strategis dalam pembentukan karakter anak usia dini. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui metode edukasi, diskusi kelompok terarah, pendampingan, serta simulasi praktik pengasuhan berbasis nilai karakter. Khalayak sasaran adalah orang tua dengan anak usia 3–6 tahun di salah satu PAUD mitra. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pemahaman orang tua, dari kategori rendah dan sedang menjadi mayoritas kategori tinggi. Selain itu, terjadi perubahan sikap berupa peningkatan komitmen orang tua dalam meluangkan waktu khusus untuk mendampingi anak. Perubahan perilaku anak pun terlihat pada aspek disiplin, empati, dan kemandirian setelah orang tua menerapkan strategi pengasuhan baru. Program ini terbukti efektif karena menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dan aplikatif, meski masih memiliki keterbatasan pada durasi pendampingan. Ke depan, kegiatan ini dapat dikembangkan melalui kolaborasi dengan sekolah serta pemanfaatan teknologi parenting digital.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat kompetensi guru sekolah dasar dalam mengintegrasikan pendidikan karakter melalui pendekatan Live Education Development Program (LEDP). Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan, praktik, simulasi, dan refleksi dengan melibatkan guru sekolah dasar sebagai sasaran utama. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada tiga aspek utama, yaitu pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan sikap guru. Dari sisi pengetahuan, guru mengalami pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang konsep pendidikan karakter, profil pelajar Pancasila, serta strategi integrasi nilai-nilai karakter. Dari sisi keterampilan, mayoritas guru mampu menyusun Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) berbasis karakter dengan kualitas baik. Dari sisi sikap, terjadi peningkatan kesadaran guru dalam menjadikan pendidikan karakter sebagai prioritas pembelajaran, dari sebelumnya 50% menjadi 92%. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga berdampak pada terbentuknya iklim sekolah yang lebih berkarakter dengan menekankan nilai kedisiplinan, tanggung jawab, kerja sama, dan sikap saling menghargai. Dengan demikian, LEDP terbukti efektif sebagai strategi penguatan pendidikan karakter yang dapat diimplementasikan secara berkelanjutan di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis implementasi nilai-nilai Pancasila sebagai dasar pendidikan toleransi di sekolah dasar. Pancasila sebagai ideologi bangsa Indonesia memiliki nilai-nilai luhur yang dapat menjadi fondasi kuat dalam membangun sikap toleransi sejak dini. Pendidikan toleransi di tingkat sekolah dasar menjadi sangat penting mengingat Indonesia adalah negara multikultural dengan keberagaman suku, agama, ras, dan budaya. Pendekatan  penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam pembelajaran dapat membentuk karakter siswa yang menghargai perbedaan. Nilai-nilai ketuhanan, kemanusiaan, persatuan, kerakyatan, dan keadilan sosial diintegrasikan melalui pembelajaran di kelas, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, dan pembiasaan sehari-hari di lingkungan sekolah. Guru berperan sebagai teladan dalam menerapkan sikap toleran dan menciptakan iklim sekolah yang inklusif. Kesimpulannya, Pancasila efektif sebagai dasar pendidikan toleransi yang dapat membentuk generasi penerus bangsa yang menghormati keberagaman dan menjunjung tinggi persatuan

Abstract

Formal educational institutions play a pivotal role in shaping student character, which extends beyond individual development to influence the broader educational environment. Building strong character is essential for preparing students to navigate societal trends and challenges. School leadership is a critical determinant of the success or failure of character development initiatives. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design to explore the role of leadership in character development. The research was conducted at an integrated Islamic school in Majalengka, involving principals and teachers as respondents. Data collection focused on observing leadership practices and their impact on student character formation. The findings demonstrate that values-based leadership significantly contributes to developing student character. Key leadership values identified include leading by example, fostering kinship, promoting cooperation, and practicing visionary leadership. These values collectively create an environment that supports character education and enhances the school’s role in preparing students for future challenges. The results emphasize that effective leadership is foundational to embedding character-building practices in formal education. Values-based leadership not only strengthens student character but also fosters a positive and collaborative school culture. These insights align with the need for leadership models that prioritize ethical and relational practices. This study highlights the importance of values-based leadership in character development within schools. Future research should explore its application in diverse educational contexts to refine strategies for cultivating ethical and responsible future generations.

Abstract

This research is based on lack of understanding of national insight among generation Z, which is caused by conventional learning methods that are less interesting and do not match the habits of generation Z who are accustomed to digital media. Gen Z tends to have difficulty in understanding character and national insight through text-based and lecture-based approaches. The purpose of this study is to develop a prototype of an interactive game-based mobile learning application that presents character and national insight in a more interesting and accessible way. Methode is Research & Development with the Double Diamond model, this study goes through four main stages: Discover (needs analysis), Define (application concept design), Develop (UI/UX design development and interactive features based on gamification), and Deliver (trial and evaluation). The results of the study in the form of the Nusa Cita application, designed by choosing character and Pancasila as a trial, presented through game-based digital media. The use of the Android platform through the gamification approach applied in this application has proven to be able to change the paradigm that games can be an effective tool in the process of transferring knowledge that is more dynamic and not monotonous. However, further research is still needed to perfect the features and optimize the technical and pedagogical aspects so that this application can be widely applied as an innovative learning medium in the digital era.

Abstract

Character education is a foundational pillar in students' moral and social development, particularly at the primary education level. This study examined the role of Sundanese local wisdoms silih asah (mutual enlightenment), silih asih (mutual affection), and silih asuh (mutual care) in shaping students' character across the cognitive, affective, and behavioural dimensions. A qualitative case study design was employed to enable an in-depth exploration of how these values are integrated into the learning ecosystem of a public primary school in Nunuk Baru Village. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis conducted within the school setting. Qualitative data were systematically analyzed using NVivo software to support coding, thematic analysis, and data triangulation. The findings indicate that teacher empathy accounted for 30% of compassion-based interactions, peer support behaviours emerged in 25% of observed incidents, and practices reflecting silih asuh, such as a buddy system, were documented 21 times. In addition, spontaneous acts of care and active participation in extracurricular communal activities reflected the authentic internalization of these values. This study highlights the importance of embedding local wisdom into formal schooling as a sustainable approach to fostering prosocial behaviour and strengthening students' moral resilience amid the challenges of globalization.

Abstract

The overarching goal of this study is to investigate how the Discovery Learning paradigm affects the development of critical thinking abilities among primary school pupils as they learn social studies. Ten scholarly journal papers from both nasional and internasional sources that were published over the last five years and included in credible databases were analyzed in this research, which used a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology. Students' critical thinking skills, particularly in areas like information analysis, idea evaluation, and conclusion formulation, are consistently and significantly improved by Discovery Learning, according to the findings. Stages of learning that promote student engagement, meaningful learning, and direct involvement in knowledge production bolster this model's efficacy. Further enhancement of Social Studies education is achieved via the integration of digital media with tangible pedagogical tools and Discovery Learning. Accordingly, to meet the needs of education in the twenty-first century, Discovery Learning is highly suggested as a method of teaching that helps primary school pupils develop their critical thinking abilities. Keywords: Discovery Learning, Critical Thinking, Social Studies Learning Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki bagaimana paradigma Pembelajaran Penemuan (Discovery Learning) memengaruhi pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis di kalangan siswa sekolah dasar saat mereka mempelajari ilmu sosial. Sepuluh makalah jurnal ilmiah dari sumber nasioanal dan internasional yang diterbitkan selama lima tahun terakhir dan termasuk dalam basis data yang kredibel dianalisis dalam penelitian ini, yang menggunakan metodologi Tinjauan Literatur Sistematis SLR. Menurut temuan, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, khususnya di bidang seperti analisis informasi, evaluasi ide, dan perumusan kesimpulan, secara konsisten dan signifikan ditingkatkan oleh Pembelajaran Penemuan. Tahapan pembelajaran yang mendorong keterlibatan siswa, pembelajaran yang bermakna, dan keterlibatan langsung dalam produksi pengetahuan memperkuat efektivitas model ini. Peningkatan lebih pendidikan Ilmu Sosial dicapai melalui integrasi media digital dengan alat pedagogis nyata dan Pembelajaran Penemuan. Dengan demikian, untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pendidikan di abad ke-21, Pembelajaran Penemuan sangat disarankan sebagai metode pengajaran yang membantu siswa sekolah dasar mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mereka. Abstract

Critical thinking, as a core competence of 21st-century learning, must be fostered from the primary school level, particularly through Social Studies instruction that emphasizes social issue analysis and rational decision-making. Empirical evidence indicates that limited critical thinking skills among elementary students are often associated with teacher-centered instructional practices. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in Social Studies through a recent literature review. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted using the PRISMA protocol. Articles published between 2020 and 2025 were retrieved from Google Scholar and Publish or Perish. Based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, ten relevant studies were selected and analyzed thematically. The findings consistently demonstrate that PBL implementation has a positive impact on students’ critical thinking skills, particularly in the areas of analysis, evaluation, inference, and argument construction. However, higher-order components such as drawing conclusions and argumentative synthesis require more structured and sustained application of PBL syntax. The effectiveness of PBL is influenced by internal factors, including students’ learning motivation and active participation, as well as external factors such as the quality of contextual problem design and teachers’ classroom management. Overall, the review confirms that PBL is a relevant and effective instructional model for primary Social Studies education, promoting participatory, contextual, and reflective learning. This study contributes a comprehensive mapping of PBL effectiveness and offers recommendations for strengthening higher-order thinking skills in elementary classrooms.

Abstract

Technological developments occur in various sectors, including education. Teachers are expected to utilize existing technology to enhance 21st-century skills, one of which is critical thinking. Based on the results of interviews conducted at four schools in Panyingkiran District, the learning process in the classroom has not fully utilized technology. Teachers still use outdated methods and rely on textbooks provided by the government, which results in students having low critical thinking skills. This study aims to develop teaching materials that can improve critical thinking skills of students. This study uses a 4D research model with four stages: Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. The results of the validation test obtained a very valid category. Furthermore, based on the results of the assessment by teachers and students, this teaching material is very practical to use in the learning process. Meanwhile, the results of student tests on the developed teaching materials indicate the effectiveness of the use of BEBASIN teaching materials. Therefore, it can be concluded that this BEBASIN teaching material is suitable for use in learning social sciences content of the history of kingdoms in Indonesia.
