Abstract

This paperaims at discussing a concept of Spatial Information for Regional Planningthat can beapplied at Indonesian district (kabupaten/kota) level. The discussionisdivided into the following substances: abasic concept of Geographic InformationSystem (GIS)-based Spatial InformationSystem for Regional Planning (SISRP); kinds of data for the SISRP-model; potential users of the SIRP-model; GIS components as the media for presentinginformationin the SISRP-model; the SISRP-model towards participatory planningconcepts; andimplementationaspects of the SISRP-model and a short review of SISRP-development in two Kabupatens, i.e. Rembang and Pemalang. In the end of this paper, a summaryresulted from the discussion and some recommendationsconcerning the potentials and bariers of SISRP-development in Indonesia aregiven.

It means that this area has good and unique image quality that can be a memory for visitors. The purpose of this paper is to explore the image of street vendor Manahan stabilization area. Understanding the image of city area, principle that is used to assess the five basic elements of image formers include landmarks, path, edge, district and node. All five elements will be the componens in assessing the identity, identity and meaning that will shape the cognition of visitors so that it can be used as environmental orientation when someone is in a place. The introduction of Manahan stabilization area begins with stimulation done by graphic and visual technique before the interviews made a cognitive map in Stabilisasi PKL Manahan area and also made familiarity-favorability-semantic differensial assesment. This area has the potential of sustainability and good image compared to other stabilization locations, so that the managed street vendors can continue to grow and the location of the arrangement becomes an attractive area and supports the identity of the city of Surakarta as a merchant friendly city by staying a beautiful and friendly city for all the citizens and tourists who visit it.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a spatial model based on Geographic Information System (GIS) that can be used to identify landslide prone areas. The model uses map overlay and tabular weighted methods involving seven variables, i.e. slope, geological condition, rainfall, soil water, water infiltration, earthquake zone, and land cover. Output of the model are classified into three categories: very vulnerable, somewhat vulnerable and safe. To ensure that the model can work well, it is applied in Semarang City due to the consideration that it has various topographical conditions, i.e. flat on the North side and hilly on the South side. Besides, the high population density has been increasing population activities, which in turn increses environmental vulnerability. To validate the model, its output is compared with the real situation on the field using some sample points. The result has shown that the model can work well, with a validity of approximately 92.5%. The output map shows that the very prone landslide area of Semarang City is about 306.82 hectare or 1% of the city’s area. Furthermore, the model is supposed to be aplicable in other areas having the same characteristics as Semarang City.

Abstract

Settlements of house on stilts in the Eastern Pontianak is located at the triangle of the Kapuas River and Landak River. This study to determine the changes of settlement’s areas in 2003-2014, predict the settlement’s areas in 2020 and the correlation between the disaster vulnerability and the development of settlement’s areas in the Kapuas riverbanks. This research method integrates quantitative-SIG binary logistic regression and CA-Markov. The data used are Quickbird satellite imagery (2003), elevation data ICONOS (2008) and contour intervals (1 meter). The results are the prediction accuracy (79.74%) and the highest kappa index (0.55). The prediction of settlement’s areas (481.98 hectares) in 2020, shows the highest land expansion in the Parit Mayor Village and the increase of settlement’s areas (6.80 ha/year) in 2014-2020. Regression analysis have a coefficient of 0 in the flooding variable, so the floods did not affected the development of settlement’s areas in the Eastern Pontianak.
