Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the SAVI learning model assisted by the Ecosystem Triorama media on the learning outcomes of natural science students of class VI SDIT Al-Ma'ruf Tegalrejo. The type of research used in this research is Pre Experimental with the One Group Pretest Posttest Design model. The subjects in this study were class VI SDIT Al- Ma'ruf Tegalrejo totaling 20. The data collection method used a pretest which was carried out before the treatment was given and the posttest was carried out after being given treatment in the form of multiple choice questions. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling (exhausting sampling). Collecting data through pretest-posttest questions and then analyzed using the Paired Sample test. The results showed that the SAVI model assisted by the Ecosystem Triorama media had an effect on learning outcomes in Natural Sciences. This is evidenced by the results of the Paired Sample test analysis in the experimental class with a probability value of sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 (0.000<0.05). Based on the analysis and discussion, there is a difference in the average pretest and posttest scores, namely the pretest 62.5 and the posttest 77.5, both of which have a difference of 15.00. The results of the study can be concluded that the use of the SAVI model assisted by the Ecosystem Triorama media has an effect on learning outcomes in Natural Sciences.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Multimedia-assisted Course Review Horay model on student achievement in science learning. This research was conducted in the fourth grade of SDN Krincing, Secang District, Magelang Regency, 2016/2017 Academic Year. The type of research used in this research is Quasi Experiment with Matching Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Learning in the experimental group by conducting three meetings, which was given treatment using the Horay Course Review Model. Pretest was given before treatment and posttest was given after treatment was given. The subjects in this study were 20 students in the experimental group and 20 students in the control group. The sampling technique in this research is saturated sampling. The sampling technique in this research is total sampling. There are two variables used in this study, namely the independent variable in the form of the Course Review Horay method assisted by Multimedia, and the dependent variable in the form of student achievement in science learning. Data collection techniques in the form of tests and observations. Analysis of the data obtained by using the Mann Whitney U Test. The results showed that the Course Review Horay method assisted by Multimedia had a positive effect on students' science learning. Based on the results of the posttest Mann Whitney U Test of the two groups conducted by the researcher, it was obtained that tcount < ttable, namely 0.013 <0.05. These results indicate that the Course Review Horay learning model assisted by Multimdeia has a significant effect on students' science learning achievement.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the effect of the LOC-R (Literacy, Orientation, Collaboration, and Reflection) learning model on fifth-grade students’ critical thinking skills in mathematics, addressing the need for instructional approaches that move beyond procedural learning toward higher-order thinking. Methodology – A quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The participants consisted of 20 fifth-grade students from SD Negeri Sosrowijayan. The intervention involved the implementation of the LOC-R learning model in mathematics instruction. Data were collected using a critical thinking skills questionnaire developed based on eight critical thinking indicators. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, normalized gain (N-gain), and a paired-sample t-test to determine the significance of the observed differences. Findings – The results revealed a substantial improvement in students’ critical thinking skills following the implementation of the LOC-R learning model. The mean score increased from 65 on the pretest to 85 on the posttest, with an N-gain value of 0.67, indicating a moderate-to-high level of improvement. The paired-samples t-test showed a statistically significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.05), confirming the intervention's effectiveness. Novelty – This study provides experimental-based empirical evidence on the effectiveness of the LOC-R learning model, which has predominantly been examined through descriptive approaches in previous research. Significance – The findings offer practical implications for elementary school teachers, curriculum developers, and education researchers seeking effective instructional models to enhance students’ critical thinking skills in mathematics learning.
