Abstract

The process of physical growth and development in children is often disturbed, one of the causes is malnutrition. Another case in the elderly, where problems that often occur besides malnutrition are also mobility disorders. Mobility disorders in the elderly are caused by the elderly worrying about moving their bodies, for this reason, fitness training is needed for the elderly to be able to carry out their daily activities. The purpose of this PkM is to provide balanced nutrition education for children and the elderly and physical exercise to improve elderly fitness. The method used is to provide education (counseling) and fitness practices. The participants who attended amounted to 68 people. The implementation of this community service begins with preparation, namely coordination with partners and the team. The implementation of the service starts from anthropometric examinations; providing education on child and elderly nutrition; fitness training; and giving tokens of appreciation from the service team and partners. The education went well which was marked by the many curiosities of the participants, as well as during the practice of physical exercise, the participants felt that the exercises given could be done easily for elderly people with limited mobility. Providing education and refresher exercises needs to be done regularly, for that the partners can follow up cooperation with facilitators who can guide church health cadres.

Abstract

Prospective science teachers must master pedagogical knowledge (PK) and content knowledge (CK), commonly referred to as Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), before entering the teaching profession. PCK is essential professional knowledge that supports effective science teaching. This study aims to analyze the PCK readiness of prospective science teachers in Indonesia and the Philippines, with a focus on the CK and PK competencies required for teaching in the ASEAN context. The study employed a mixed-methods approach. Survey data were collected from 110 prospective science teachers undertaking field teaching practice in schools in Indonesia and the Philippines. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted with 12 participants, consisting of six prospective teachers from each country. The data focused on participants’ understanding and preparation related to pedagogical skills and science subject matter. The results indicate that the overall PCK level of prospective science teachers falls within the “moderately ready” category. However, the proportion of participants classified as “ready” remains relatively low, ranging from 44.9% to 58.5%. These findings suggest a need for strengthening both PK and CK among prospective science teachers. Enhancing PK can be achieved through additional pedagogical education and targeted training programs to improve teaching skills. Meanwhile, improving CK can be supported by providing more specialized science content courses aligned with school curricula prior to teaching practice. PCK readiness plays a crucial role in supporting sustainable development. Beyond integrating pedagogy and content, PCK enables prospective teachers to effectively convey scientific concepts related to sustainability issues: climate change, natural resource conservation, environmentally friendly technologies.

Abstract

Chemistry learning, particularly in the context of reaction rates, is often considered complex and abstract, necessitating innovative learning media that can effectively link concepts to real-world contexts. One solution is the development of electronic-based teaching materials in the form of E-Student Worksheet (Electronic Student Worksheets) that utilize environmental issues as a contextual approach. This study aims to develop an Environmentally Based Chemistry Practicum E-Student Worksheet on reaction rates that is valid, practical, and suitable for use as a learning medium. The research method employs the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) development model. The research respondents included two media experts, two material experts from Chemistry Education lecturers, and 24 high school teachers who assessed the product quality. The results showed that the assessment by the media experts and material experts obtained an average score of 82%, which is categorized as very good. In addition, a limited trial with high school teachers yielded an average score of 87%, indicating that the E-Student Worksheet received a positive response and was well-received as a learning medium. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Environmentally Based Chemistry Practical E-Student Worksheet utilizes the Flipbook Builder application in a manner that meets the needs of students, is suitable for learning, and has the potential to enhance the understanding of chemical concepts through an environmentally based contextual approach.

Abstract

Student concentration in learning chemistry tends to be low due to the abstract nature of the material and the dominance of teacher-centered approaches. Innovative, student-centered strategies and interactive media are needed to enhance engagement and focus. This study aims to investigate the improvement of student learning concentration through the "Everyone Is a Teacher Here" (EIATH) strategy assisted by Genially media. A quasi-experimental design with one-group pretest-posttest was used, involving 36 students from class XI MIPA II at a Jakarta senior high school, selected through purposive sampling. Student concentration was measured using a validated non-test instrument based on a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, followed by a paired sample t-test. The results showed that the data were normally distributed (p = 0.200) and homogeneous (p = 0.204). The paired t-test indicated a significant improvement in student concentration (t = 73.3 > t table = 1.68957). However, the N-Gain score was 0.2, indicating a low level of improvement. Discussion: Although the EIATH strategy, assisted by Genially media, significantly enhanced student concentration, the low N-Gain score suggests that its implementation needs to be further optimized. The combination of active learning and interactive media holds potential but may require extended application and supportive classroom conditions to achieve higher impact. The "Everyone Is a Teacher Here" strategy, supported by Genially media, has a positive effect on improving student learning concentration in chemistry, but refinement in implementation is necessary to achieve more substantial outcomes

Abstract

The development of technology-based learning platforms and media has been widely carried out; however, most of efforts primarily focus on increasing student interest, while less attention is given to enhancing skills and scientific thinking processes. The purpose of this research was to develop a technology – based learning media, namely a Virtual Reality (VR) laboratory integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support students’ scientific thinking skills and processes. The AI - integrated VR laboratory was specifically  developed for the implementation of acid-base titration practicums. The research followed the ADDIE development model. During the implementation phase, the product was tested on 31 students from Chemistry Education Study Program at UKI, selected using a random sampling technique. Data collection, particularly for product evaluation, was conducted using a non-test instrument in the form of a Likert scale questionnaire. The instrument consisted of indicators of usefulness, efficiency, and interest which were share via Google Form link. Before being distributed to student, the instrument has been validated by an expert validator with a background in chemistry learning media. The results of the analysis indicated that the AI-integrated VR laboratory received positive response from students with a percentage level of 80.79% for the usefulness indicator, 77.06% for the efficiency indicator, and 79,45% for the interest indicator. Therefore, the result of the development of VR laboratory integrated with AI can be considered as a viable alternative learning media for conducting acid-base titration practicum.
