Abstract

This research aims to provide empirical data about the relation between faith and self-esteem with shamans and their supernatural power among the tribal-based religious community in North Sumatra. The main issue this research tackles is that in this modern society, there are those who still trust and use shamans and their supernatural power termed “Begu Ganjang”. Despite this, the development of the global economy can often cause difficulty, and as such, humans must possess the ability to survive and to overcome problems, in a term known as the “Adversity Quotient” (AQ). However, instead of using their AQ, some individuals with low self-esteem tend to place more faith in shamans and supernatural powers. This study uses a quantitative approach in the form of a questionnaire. By using either a Purposive or Judgmental Sampling method, from 600 people asked, there were answers from a total of 100 respondents (50 men and 50 women) from each of the following tribes in North Sumatra: Batak Toba, Mandailing, Pakpak, Simalungun, Karo, and Nias. The study applied SEM to analyze the relationship between endogenous variables of faith and self-esteem with the shaman and Begu Ganjang. The study found that the relation of faith to shamans = 0.19, and faith to Begu Ganjang = 0.00. This means that there is a small relation between faith and shaman, while there is no relation between faith and Begu Ganjang. Furthermore, the relation of self-esteem to shaman = - 0.13, and self-esteem to Begu Ganjang = - 0.06. The result of this study shows the following: 1) There is a correlation between the growth of the respondent’s faith and their trust in the shaman, and 2) The decrease of trust in shamans and Begu Ganjang will occur only if the respondent’s self-esteem increases. Finally, the results of this study may act as a point of reference for other studies that will examine the phenomenon of syncretism in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research discusses about moral problems that are occuring daily in the society and the Church as pointed out by Piet Go Twan An. Those moral problems are the problems created by firstly the Indonesian Marriage Law; secondly the problem of pastoral care among the priests should be reformed to suit inter-personal relations with God’s people so that the Church’s missions are recived affectively and efficiently; thirdly the problem of corruption in the government and the needs for the Church to be pro-active in eradicating corruptions; and the last point is the problem of homosexuality or LGBT issues. Solution is offered by moral transforming among its people (the faithful and the people) namely personal ethic transformation based on the Papal Encyclic Rerum Novarum and Quadragesimo Anno. This research is to address the question of how much personal moral transformation is needed to overcome moral problems in the society. The samples of this research are 895 people of Christians and Cahtolics in Medan. By using the Analysis Factor and SEM methods, it is predicted that there will be an increase of 0.08 on the transformation of personal morals if there is an effort of 0.28 points to improve the morals of the faithful and the people of Medan.

Abstract

This article aims to describe and analyze the urgency and implementation of PAI learning design in developing religious tolerance at SMA Negeri 1 Kedamean Gresik. The research method used in this article is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the research are that there are 3 stages in the implementation of PAI learning design in developing religious tolerance at SMA Negeri 1 Kedamean, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. This research can help increase students' understanding of other religions so that they are able to respect differences in beliefs. This research can provide learning experiences that can help students develop empathy towards individuals from various religious backgrounds. By understanding the values of tolerance, students can be better able to prevent religious discrimination in society. Religious tolerance education needs to be given to students as early as possible. Instilling openness of thought from an early age, and accepting differences based on the values of tolerance, will of course minimize attitudes of intolerance in students.

Abstract

Student worksheets are printed worksheets that are frequently used in classrooms. The effectiveness of LKPD in online learning is lower. Similar improvements have been made in science and technology, as well as in the context of the process of learning to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic. This necessitates creating LKPD that is more creative and can be presented in an electronic student worksheet (E-LKPD) format for use online. Electronic Student Worksheets are online learning resources that are methodically organized into specific instructional units and delivered in electronic format. By examining the appropriateness of the media, teacher reactions, and the efficacy of employing teaching materials, this research intends to offer electronic student worksheet products based on socio-scientific issues in learning materials to increase students' critical thinking. The ADDIE technique, which stands for analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, is the development approach used. The findings of the study on the creation of the e-LKPD demonstrate the viability of e-LKPD media based on socio-scientific issues in instructional materials to enhance students' critical thinking, with 93 percent falling into the highly viability group. So that the e-LKPD that has been developed is declared suitable for use as a support for the learning process.

Abstract

Konflik sosial merupakan salah satu tantangan utama dalam kehidupan masyarakat yang dapat mempengaruhi stabilitas dan harmoni sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh agama sebagai faktor potensial dalam proses penyelesaian konflik sosial di masyarakat. Dalam konteks ini, agama dianggap sebagai salah satu faktor kultural dan nilai-nilai yang mungkin memainkan peran penting dalam mitigasi, penyelesaian, atau bahkan pencegahan konflik social. Metodologi penelitian ini melibatkan survei, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen untuk mengumpulkan data tentang konflik sosial yang terjadi dalam masyarakat. Sampel penelitian mencakup anggota masyarakat dari berbagai latar belakang agama dan keyakinan. Data yang dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis untuk menilai peran agama dalam penyelesaian konflik sosial, termasuk penggunaan nilai-nilai agama, mekanisme mediasi agama, dan pengaruh terhadap kebijakan publik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa agama memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dalam penyelesaian konflik sosial. Nilai-nilai moral, etika, dan ajaran perdamaian yang ditemukan dalam agama sering kali digunakan sebagai panduan dalam menyelesaikan konflik. Selain itu, komunitas agama sering bertindak sebagai mediator atau fasilitator dialog antara pihak yang terlibat dalam konflik. Namun, juga ditemukan bahwa pengaruh agama dapat bervariasi tergantung pada interpretasi dan praktik agama tertentu serta konteks sosial dan politik yang ada. Temuan ini memiliki implikasi penting bagi pemahaman kita tentang peran agama dalam masyarakat yang multikultural dan seringkali konflik. Dengan memahami bagaimana agama dapat berperan dalam penyelesaian konflik sosial, kita dapat mengembangkan pendekatan yang lebih efektif dalam mempromosikan perdamaian, toleransi, dan pemahaman antara kelompok-kelompok yang berbeda dalam masyarakat.

Abstract

In the digital age, adolescents in DKI Jakarta Province, Indonesia, are experiencing a transformative shift in their lifestyles, characterized by the pervasive influence of digital technologies. This research aimed to comprehensively investigate the multifaceted impact of digital lifestyles on the health of adolescents, with a specific focus on social media abuse, physical inactivity, and psychological well-being. Through a mixed-methods approach encompassing surveys and interviews, data from 500 adolescents were collected and analyzed. The findings revealed that digital lifestyles have become integral to the lives of adolescents, with social media use averaging 3.5 hours per day. However, this extensive use has led to concerning issues, including cyberbullying experiences among 18% of participants and feelings of inadequacy in 42% due to social comparison. Additionally, physical inactivity was prevalent, with only 38% meeting the recommended daily physical activity guidelines. These behaviors were associated with various health implications, such as poor sleep quality and eye strain. Psychological well-being also bore the brunt of digital lifestyles, with 32% of adolescents reporting symptoms of anxiety and 28% experiencing symptoms of depression. Despite these challenges, self-esteem levels remained moderate to high for most participants.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter telah menjadi perhatian utama dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan remaja. Salah satu aspek penting dalam pembentukan karakter adalah kepercayaan diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran pendidikan karakter dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan sejumlah remaja serta pengamatan terhadap proses pendidikan karakter di sebuah sekolah menengah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter memiliki peran yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri remaja. Pendidikan karakter membantu remaja mengembangkan nilai-nilai seperti kejujuran, rasa tanggung jawab, empati, dan integritas. Dengan memiliki nilai-nilai tersebut, remaja menjadi lebih yakin dalam menghadapi berbagai situasi dan tantangan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Selain itu, pendidikan karakter juga memberikan kesempatan bagi remaja untuk belajar dari pengalaman dan kesalahan, yang dapat meningkatkan rasa percaya diri mereka. Penelitian ini juga menyoroti pentingnya peran guru dan orang tua dalam mendukung pendidikan karakter. Guru dan orang tua berperan sebagai role model yang memberikan contoh perilaku yang baik, serta memberikan dorongan dan dukungan yang dibutuhkan oleh remaja dalam mengembangkan karakter dan kepercayaan diri mereka. Dalam kesimpulannya, pendidikan karakter memiliki peran yang penting dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri remaja. Dengan memahami nilai-nilai dan moral yang baik, remaja dapat mengembangkan kepercayaan diri yang kuat, yang akan membantu mereka menghadapi berbagai aspek kehidupan dengan lebih percaya diri dan optimis. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan karakter harus menjadi bagian integral dari sistem pendidikan untuk menciptakan generasi muda yang lebih percaya diri dan berintegritas.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the Student facilitator and explaining learning model on student learning outcomes on the theme 8 of our best friend's environment in class V of SD Negeri 173442 Batunagodang in the 2023/2024 learning year. In this study using quantitative methods, sampling using purposive samples and the sample used was class V which amounted to 30 students. The results of this study indicate that student learning outcomes using the Student facilitator and explaining model are included in the very good category with an average of 80.16 with a correlation test result of 0.815 which means rcount (0.815) ≥ rtabel (0.361) then Ha is accepted. So there is a strong influence between the use of the Student facilitator and explaining learning model on student learning outcomes on the theme of our best friend's environment in class V of SD Negeri 173442 Batunagodang. It can be seen from the results of the T-test research where tcount ≥ ttable, namely 7.432 ≥ 2.048 so it can be stated that Ha is accepted. This shows that there is a significant positive effect of using the Student facilitator and explaining learning model on student learning outcomes on the theme of our best friend's environment in class V of SD Negeri 173442 Batunagodang in the 2023/2024 learning year.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menyelidiki dampak modal sosial, keterampilan manajerial, dan akses terhadap teknologi terhadap kinerja Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Bandung, Jawa Barat, dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel sebanyak 125 pemilik dan manajer UMKM berpartisipasi dalam survei yang memberikan data tentang variabel-variabel kunci seperti modal sosial, keterampilan manajerial, akses terhadap teknologi, dan kinerja bisnis. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan analisis jalur Partial Least Squares (PLS) digunakan untuk menganalisis data dan menguji hipotesis. Temuan menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara akses terhadap teknologi, keterampilan manajerial, modal sosial, dan kinerja UMKM. Secara khusus, akses ke teknologi muncul sebagai prediktor terkuat dari kinerja UMKM, diikuti oleh modal sosial dan keterampilan manajerial. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya adopsi teknologi, pengembangan kapasitas, dan jejaring sosial dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan keberlanjutan UMKM. Studi ini berkontribusi pada pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang pendorong keberhasilan usaha kecil dan memberikan wawasan berbasis bukti bagi para pembuat kebijakan, praktisi, dan pemangku kepentingan yang ingin mendukung pengembangan UMKM di Bandung, Jawa Barat, dan sekitarnya.
