Abstract

This research focuses on the psychological well-being of students from Prima Indonesia University who participated in the 2022 PMM Program. With the academic and social challenges faced by students, this study aims to understand their impact on students' psychological well-being. To achieve this goal, this study uses Ryff's theoretical framework to assess six dimensions of psychological well-being. In applying the research methodology, a qualitative approach is used. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, with characteristics as students of the 2022 PMM Program who are currently in their fifth semester. Data was collected through observation and structured interviews. The results of the study show that UNPRI students who participated in the 2022 Merdeka Student Exchange Program have a good level of psychological well-being, with dimensions of autonomy, positive relationships, mastery of the environment, personal growth, meaningful life goals, and self-acceptance identified as key factors impacting their psychological well-being.Penelitian ini berfokus pada kesejahteraan psikologis mahasiswa Universitas Prima Indonesia yang berpartisipasi dalam Program PMM 2022. Dengan tantangan akademis dan sosial yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswa, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dampaknya terhadap kesejahteraan psikologis mahasiswa. Untuk mencapai tujuan ini, penelitian ini menggunakan kerangka teori Ryff untuk menilai enam dimensi kesejahteraan psikologis. Dalam menerapkan metodologi penelitian, digunakanlah pendekatan kualitatif. Informan dipilih melalui metode purposive sampling, dengan karakteristik sebagai mahasiswa Program PMM 2022 yang saat ini sedang menempuh semester lima. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara terstruktur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa/i UNPRI yang mengikuti Program Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka Tahun 2022 memiliki tingkat kesejahteraan psikologis yang baik, dengan dimensi otonomi, hubungan positif, penguasaan lingkungan, pertumbuhan pribadi, tujuan hidup yang bermakna, dan penerimaan diri teridentifikasi sebagai faktor kunci yang berdampak pada kesejahteraan psikologis mereka.

Abstract

Based on the model of emotion regulation (Gross, 1998), the ability to manage emotional responses is very important for achieving subjective well-being and happiness. Adolescents in orphanages are vulnerable to experiencing emotional distress and low levels of happiness due to limited affective support. This study aims to test the effectiveness of emotion regulation training in increasing happiness in 16 adolescents (ages 10–17 years). It was hypothesized that training based on Gross's five stages of emotion regulation would significantly improve happiness scores. Using the one group pretest-posttest design and the Hills & Argyle Happiness Scale, the training was conducted in three sessions (one day). The results of the Paired Sample t-Test showed that although the average happiness score increased marginally from 91.63 (Pretest) to 92.63 (Posttest), the increase was not statistically significant (p = 0.328 > 0.05). These findings provide a theoretical and practical contribution to the need for longer and more intensive intervention durations as input for the design of sustainable programs to improve subjective welfare in orphanages. Abstract

Dalam menjalani kehidupan ini, kesejahteraan psikologis diperlukan agar setiap individu merasa nyaman menjalani kehidupannya. Hal inilah yang dilakukan Tim UNPRI dalam Program PM BEM Berdampak 2025 kepada kelompok tani dan pemuda karang taruna di Desa Sementara, Kecamatan Pantai Cermin, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai. Kegiatan ini fokus pada 3 aspek yakni produksi, psikologis dan pemasaran. Dalam kegiatan ini, kedua kelompok diajarkan cara memproduksi pupuk organik, cara pemasaran hasil produksi dari pupuk organik melalui digital marketing serta pendampingan psikologis sebagai upaya mengubah pola pikir agar mau secara perlahan menggunakan pupuk organic. Pendampingan juga dilakukan agar mereka mampu menghadapi tekanan seperti ketidakpastian hasil panen, kondisi ekonomi keluarga, dan tuntutan sosial, sehingga dapat memengaruhi kesejahteraan psikologisnya yang berdampak pada kemampuan dalam mengambil keputusan dan menjalin kerja sama. Program PM BEM Berdampak 2025 ini,merupakan hibah hibah dari Direktorat Jendral Riset dan Pengembangan (Ditjen Risbang) melalui Direktorat Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (DPPM), Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi, Sains, dan Teknologi (Kemdiktisaintek) Kegiatan ini berjalan lancar, tim mendapat dukungan penuh dari pemerintah Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai dan bersama Masyarakat menjalankan program dari awal hingga berakhir program.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has influenced the social interaction patterns of adolescents and given rise to the phenomenon of cyberbullying on social media. Emotional regulation plays an important role in preventing aggressive online behavior because it is related to an individual's ability to recognize, assess, and control their emotional responses. This study aims to understand the relationship between emotional regulation and cyberbullying behavior among adolescents who use social media. The research method used a correlational quantitative approach with 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The research subjects consisted of 100 adolescents who use social media from Eria High School in Medan, which were determined based on the purposive sampling technique. Data analysis included normality and linearity tests, and the data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics software edition 25. The results showed a correlation coefficient of r = -0.643 with a significance level of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). This means that the more emotional regulation skills social media users have, the less likely they are to engage in cyberbullying. Conversely, teens with low emotional regulation tend to have a higher risk of engaging in cyberbullying behavior. Strengthening emotional regulation through character education and family support is important to prevent online aggressive behavior among teens.Perkembangan teknologi digital memengaruhi pola interaksi sosial remaja dan memunculkan fenomena cyberbullying di media sosial. Regulasi emosi berperan penting dalam mencegah perilaku agresif daring karena berkaitan dengan kemampuan individu mengenali, menilai, dan mengontrol respons emosionalnya. Studi ini bertujuan untuk memahami keterkaitan antara regulasi emosi dan perilaku cyberbullying pada remaja pengguna media sosial. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan 100 responden yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 100 remaja pengguna media sosial dari SMA Eria Medan, yang dientukan berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data meliputi pengujian normalitas dan pengujian linieritas serta data dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment dengan bantuan software IBM SPSS Statistics edisi 25. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan nilai koefisien korelasi r = -0.643 dengan tingkat signifikansi yaitu p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Dalam artian bahwa peningkatan keterampilan regulasi emosi yang dimiliki remaja pengguna media sosial, maka makin berkurang kecenderungan mereka untuk melakukan tindakan cyberbullying. Sebaliknya, remaja dengan regulasi emosi yang rendah cenderung memiliki risiko lebih tinggi untuk terlibat dalam perilaku cyberbullying. Penguatan regulasi emosi melalui pendidikan karakter dan dukungan keluarga penting dilakukan untuk mencegah perilaku agresif daring di kalangan remaja.

Abstract

The phenomenon of toxic relationships has recently come under public scrutiny due to its widespread prevalence. This issue typically focuses on middle and late adulthood or parenting. This study examines the importance of emotional regulation and toxic relationships in late adolescence through a literature review. A literature review examines theories through the depth and breadth of previous research, including reviews of published journals and books. In general, it was found that the phenomenon of toxic relationships has pervaded late adolescence, and its relationship with emotional regulation is significantly negative. This means that if an individual has good or high emotional regulation, a toxic relationship will not occur. Conversely, if their emotional regulation is poor or low, a toxic relationship will occur.

Abstract

This study reviews the description of emotional regulation in early adult victims of infidelity in the dating period. This type of research is phenomenological qualitative research using interview techniques. The subjects of this study amounted to 4 people, who were obtained using purposive sampling technique. The characteristics of the research subjects are individuals with an early adult age range of 18-25 years, have experienced infidelity and live in Binjai, North Sumatra. The results of this study indicate that the four subjects experienced different emotions and emotional regulation during and after infidelity. When experiencing infidelity, the emotions felt by the subjects were anger, upset, sadness, heartache and disappointment. After experiencing infidelity, there were several other emotional reactions felt by the subject such as sadness, disappointment, annoyance, anger, frustration, despair, aggression, hatred, disgust and desire for revenge. In addition, the subject also felt positive emotions such as comforted, happy, satisfied, relieved, optimistic, enthusiastic, enthusiastic, accepting and grateful, but these positive emotional reactions did not appear as much as negative emotions. Emotion regulation is carried out through 5 stages, namely situation selection, situation modification, attention deployment, cognitive change, and response modulation. In addition, this study also shows that the subject's emotion regulation ability is influenced by social support, gender, self-concept, parenting and attachment style with the mother. Emotion regulation ability can be improved by self-talk and journaling. .

Abstract

Kesejahteraan psikologis (psychological well-being) merupakan aspek penting dalam mendukung kualitas hidup masyarakat, terutama bagi kelompok yang terlibat dalam aktivitas sosial dan ekonomi seperti kelompok tani dan karang taruna. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman, kapasitas psikologis, serta keterampilan regulasi emosi anggota Kelompok Tani Cempaka II dan Karang Taruna Desa Sementara, Kecamatan Pantai Cermin, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai. Metode kegiatan meliputi psikoedukasi, ceramah, diskusi, pendampingan konseling, asesmen psikologis, dan intervensi psikososial. Materi yang diberikan mencakup psychological well-being, kemandirian, pengambilan keputusan, serta teknik regulasi emosi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap konsep PWB, kemampuan mengelola emosi, serta peningkatan hubungan sosial melalui aktivitas psikososial. Peserta juga menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dalam proses diskusi dan pendampingan. Dengan demikian, program PKM ini terbukti efektif dalam memperkuat kesejahteraan psikologis, kapasitas personal, dan ketahanan sosial masyarakat desa.

Abstract

Masyarakat Desa Sementara, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai, masih menghadapi permasalahan ketergantungan terhadap pupuk kimia, tingginya biaya produksi pertanian, serta belum optimalnya pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga dan sekam padi. Selain itu, kemampuan teknis kelompok tani dan karang taruna dalam memproduksi pupuk organik secara mandiri masih terbatas. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat dalam memproduksi pupuk organik cair (POC) berbasis limbah rumah tangga dan biochar sekam padi sebagai upaya mendukung pertanian berkelanjutan. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi pentingnya pupuk organik, pelatihan pembuatan POC melalui fermentasi anaerob selama 30 hari, pelatihan pembuatan biochar menggunakan alat pirolisis sederhana, serta uji coba aplikasi POC dan biochar pada demplot tanaman padi dan hortikultura. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test, observasi produksi, serta pengamatan pertumbuhan tanaman. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata pemahaman peserta sebesar ±40%. Peserta mampu memproduksi ±180 liter POC dan ±45 kg biochar dari limbah lokal. Uji coba demplot menunjukkan peningkatan pertumbuhan tanaman pada perlakuan POC dan biochar dibandingkan kontrol. Kegiatan ini berdampak pada peningkatan keterampilan teknis, perubahan perilaku pertanian, serta komitmen mitra untuk melanjutkan produksi pupuk organik secara mandiri setelah program berakhir.

Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between shyness and interpersonal communication anxiety among first-year students at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Medan Area. Employing a quantitative approach with a correlational design, sample were collected using a disproportionate stratified random sampling technique. The researchpopulation comprised 311 students, fromwhom a sample of 167 participants was drawn. The research instruments included two scales: an InterpersonalCommunication Anxiety Scale consistingof 65 statements (reliability of 0.745) anda Shyness Scale also with 61 statements(reliability of 0.741). Data analysis utilizing Pearson's product-moment correlation yielded an rxy value of 0.828 with a significance level of p < 0.05 (0.000). These findings indicate a significant positive relationship between shyness and interpersonal communication anxiety among first- year students at Universitas Medan Area, thus supporting the study's hypothesis.

Abstract

  This study aims to examine the relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Prosocial Behaviour among students of SMP Panca Budi Medan. A quantitative method was utilized, involving a sample of 191 students selected using Disproportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Data was collected using two main instruments: a 30-item Prosocial Behaviour scale and a 29-item Emotional Intelligence scale. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test with the aid of SPSS Statistics 24 for Windows. The results revealed a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.326 with a significant value (p-value) of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that there is a positive and significant relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Prosocial Behaviour. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.106, implying that Emotional Intelligence contributes 10.6% to Prosocial Behaviour, whereas the remaining 89.4% was influenced by variables not addressed in this study's parameters. These results underscore the significant contribution of Emotional Intelligence in promoting Prosocial Behavior.
