Abstract

The focus of this research is to analyse the numeracy literacy ability in solving System of Linear Equations Two Variables (SPLDV) problems in terms of students' personality. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects taken were two students of class VIII SMP PGRI 4 Kalipare. Subjects in this study were determined using a questionnaire. Data collection techniques in the form of tests and interviews. Based on the results of the study, it shows that students with introverted personality types are able to meet the three indicators of numeracy literacy skills, namely solving problems using various numbers and symbols related to mathematics; analysing information presented in various images (graphs, tables, charts and so on); and interpreting the results of these analyses to make predictions and decisions. However, extroverted learners' personality type is only able to present one indicator of numeracy literacy, namely analysing information presented in various images (graphs, tables, charts and so on)

Abstract

This study focuses on discussing the result of the analysis of (1) the ability to solve mathematical problems of SPLDV material based on Polya, (2) the causes of student errors in solving mathematical problems of SPLDV material. This research is qualitive research and the type of research is qualitive-exploratory. The subject in this study were class X student of SMK Bina Kartika Nusantara Tirtoyudo. Data collection procedures observations, through tests, interviewers, and documentation. Data is analyzed qualitatively including data reduction, data presentations, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data is carried out by triangulation. The test results from this study show that there are 3 excellent  criteria, there are  4  good criteria, there   are 5  students  , and The criteria are  less than 3 students.  The causes of student errors   in this study are forgetting or not remembering formulas, difficulty understanding symbols that cause work and  the final result is not just right. The conclusion of  this study is that students  with high categories are able to meet all indicators including understanding problems, planning solutions, implementing solutions  and rechecking.   Learners with a moderate category are only able to meet the  indicators of understanding the problem, planning the solution  and carrying out the solution. Learners with low categories  are only able to understand the problem and plan for a solution.

Abstract

This study emphasizes the importance of creative thinking skills as a key 21st-century student competency. Observations at a junior high school in Malang City revealed that 68% of 31 students could not solve simple algebra problems. This inability could be caused by several factors, one of which is low creative thinking skills. There is still limited research on creative thinking skills. Therefore, this study aimed to assess pupils’ original ideas and abilities in algebra questions based on AQ (Adversity Quotient) categories. In this qualitative descriptive research, 33 students were selected based on various AQ categories. The AQ data were collected through a questionnaire and categorized as follows: 11 students in the Climbers category, 17 in the Campers category, and five in the Quitters category. Three subjects were selected based on the highest scores in each category: AQ, representative, and communicative. The subjects were further analyzed using a creativity component test (fluency, flexibility, and originality). The data collection methods in this investigation were the AQ questionnaire, a creative thinking ability test, and semi-structured interviews. The interviews aimed to gather more in-depth information about students’ thought processes while solving algebra problems. The study’s results indicate that the majority of students are in the Campers category (51.51%), followed by Climbers (33.33%) and Quitters (15.15%). Students with AQ Climbers profiles meet the fluency, flexibility, and originality criteria. Students with AQ Campers appear confident, but their solutions did not meet the fluency component (fulfilling the components of flexibility and originality). Meanwhile, pupils who are AQ Quitters cannot meet the requirements for creative thinking. The conclusion of this study is that the higher the level of resilience (AQ) of students, the higher their ability to think creatively and solve mathematical problems fluently, flexibly, and originally. This research can inspire teachers to use the open-ended problem-solving method by considering students’ AQ levels, helping students enhance their creative thinking skills. Keywords: adversity quotient, creative thinking skills, algebra.

Abstract

Peserta didik sering mengalami kesalahan produral dan konsep ketika menyelesaikan soal cerita aljabar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan peserta didik sesuai indikator tahapan Polya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu metode kualitatif deskriptif. Peserta didik diberikan 3 soal cerita Aljabar selanjutnya pekerjaan peserta didik dianalisis. Peserta didik yang sudah mengerjakan secara benar tidak dianalisa sedangkan peserta didik yang masih mengerjakan salah dikelompokkan tipe kesalahannya sesuai dengan tahapan Polya. Peneliti setelah mengelompokkan tipe kesalahan selanjutnya memilih subjek wawancara. Subjek wawancara dalam penelitian ini dipilih berdasarkan indikator kesalahan sesuai tahapan Polya yang dilakukan peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1 subjek sudah mampu menyelesaikan soal dengan sangat baik dan benar yakni secara konsep maupun prosedural dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita aljabar, 4 subjek sudah mampu memahami konsep dan prosedural namun membutuhkan ketelitian dalam perhitungan operasi, dan ada 1 subjek yang masih kesulitan dalam memahami konsep dan mengimplementasikan soal cerita aljabar kedalam penyelesaian dengan baik dan benar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII terhadap materi peluang melalui penerapan video pembelajaran. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP PGRI I Donomulyo sebanyak 15 siswa. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data digunakan observasi dan tes. Observasi dilakukan dengan mengamati keberlangsungan proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan lembar observasi aktivitas guru. Tes terbagi menjadi tes awal dan tes akhir siklus. Tes awal diberikan sebelum pembelajaran dimulai. Tes akhir siklus diberikan setelah proses pembelajaran dengan penerapan video pembelajaran. Tes bertujuan untuk mengamati peningkatan skill berpikir kritis siswa. Indikator skill berpikir kritis yang digunakan pada penelitian ini meliputi: kemampuan memahami petunjuk/menganalisis pertanyaan, kemampuan merumuskan masalah atau pertanyaan (memfokuskan pertanyaan), kemampuan mengidentifikasi asumsi/menentukan konsep pemecahan, kemampuan menerapkan konsep/prosedur (operasi hitung) dan memberikan alasan masalah, serta kemampuan membuat kesimpulan. Video pembelajaran berfungsi sebagai stimulan untuk membangkitkan motivasi belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan secara klasikal skill berpikir kritis siswa berturut-turut 5,19% pada tes awal, 6,26 pada tes akhir siklus I, dan 9,32% pada tes akhir siklus II.

Abstract

This research was conducted because the effectiveness of using Student Worksheets (LKS) at the junior high school level is still inadequate. This research aims to develop structured worksheets for problem-based mathematics learning with material on linear equations in one variable that is valid, practical, and effective. This research refers to the ADDIE development model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This worksheet is designed to guide seventh-grade junior high school students in understanding the basic concepts of linear equations in one variable, identifying the elements in the equation, mastering techniques for solving linear equations, and applying these concepts in real-world situations. The structured worksheets developed were tested according to the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. LKS validation is carried out by material substance experts and teaching material design experts. The practicality assessment was obtained from the results of the student response questionnaire. Assessment of the effectiveness of structured worksheets is obtained from the results of problem-based test questions. Structured worksheets contain student orientation to problems, organized learning activities, individual and group investigations, presentation of work results, as well as analysis and evaluation of the problem-solving process. Material substance validation showed a score of 3.819, which is very valid, while design validation showed a score of 3.70, which is very valid. The practicality test shows a score of 3.53, which is very practical, while the effectiveness test shows an average score of 77, which is very effective. Thus, structured worksheets used as tools in problem-based learning methods help students maximize their abilities in problem-solving. This research is important to carry out to facilitate teachers in providing worksheets that suit students' needs. By integrating these worksheets into classroom learning activities, it is hoped that they can help students solve mathematical problems, improve thinking patterns, and support more effective mathematics learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh peserta didik di SMP Negeri 17 Malang dalam meyelesaikan soal cerita matematika dengan pokok bahasan yaitu teorema Phythagoras yang kemudian dianalisis kesalahan dalam pengerjaan soal menggunakan dasar teori Newman. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis riset deskriptif yang dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Jumlah peserta didik yang menjadi subjek penelitian berjumlah 22 peserta didik. Penggunaan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu tes tertulis dan pedoman wawancara yang telah divalidasi oleh dua validator yaitu dosen matematika Universitas PGRI Kanjuruhan Malang dan guru matematika SMP Negeri 17 Malang. Rata-rata skor akhir hasil validasi soal tes tertulis adalah 3,75 dan 3,83 dan berada pada kategori baik, yang berarti instrumen penelitian yang telah disusun peneliti valid dan layak digunakan. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa jenis kesalahan yang ditunjukkan oleh peserta didik berkemampuan tinggi yaitu kesalahan transformasi dan kesalahan keterampilan proses. Jenis kesalahan yang ditunjukkan pada peserta didik berkemampuan sedang yaitu pada tahap memahami, keterampilan proses dan penulisan jawaban akhir. Sedangkan siswa berkemampuan rendah menunjukkan jenis kesalahan pada tahap membaca soal, memahami, kesalahan transformasi, keterampilan proses dan penulisan jawaban akhir. Jenis kesalahan yang memiliki frekuensi paling tinggi ditunjukkan pada tahap memahami, diikuti dengan penulisan jawaban akhir dan transformasi.

Abstract: The fact that teaching mathematics studies show that some students are less able to learn mathematical concepts. The use of manipulative learning media is considered to facilitate students in learning. Universities as determinants of educated graduates accommodate the achievement of graduates who have the ability according to the formulation in the IQF qualification level. The Unikama Mathematics Education Study Program develops skills in making learning media through assistance to pre-service teachers. The problems faced by pre-service teachers include the need for skills to design learning media that are fun and meaningful for students. Based on the problems of the pre-service teachers, the service provider provides a solution in the form of assistance in designing meaningful learning media for students. The learning media offered is manipulative. Manipulative learning media can improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts. Evaluation of the assistance in making manipulative media by pre-service teachers is carried out through class presentations. Each pre-service teacher explained the materials and tools used and how to make manipulative media. Pre-service teachers also convey how to use it. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah model pembelajaran make a match dan permainan kartu domino pintar yang dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar pada materi operasi penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan pecahan serta mendeskripsikan besarnya peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Pembelajaran make a match diawali dengan mengelompokkan siswa secara heterogen. Masing-masing kelompok mendapatkan 4 kartu soal yang harus dipasangkan dengan kartu jawaban yang dipasang pada banner. Selanjutnya, permainan kartu domino pintar diawali dengan membagikan 12 keping kartu domino pintar. Setiap kelompok memasangkan antara soal dan jawaban yang terdapat pada setiap sisi kartu domino pintar.  Persentase ketuntasan belajar pada pratindakan sebesar 17, 65%, pada siklus 1 sebesar 71,43%, dan pada siklus 2 sebesar 89,29%.Kata kunci: make a match, kartu domino pintar, prestasi belajar.

Abstract

Hasil observasi di SLB Idayu 2 menunjukkan pelaksanaan pembelajaran siswa sesuai dengan acuan kurikulum 2013, namun implementasi kurikulum perlu mendapatkan dukungan dari pihak luar sekolah agar target dapat tercapai. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dimaksudkan untuk memberikan bantuan pelayanan terhadap siswa autis dalam bentuk pelatihan keterampilan membuat puding bunga telang. Manfaat dari kegiatan ini adalah pengembangan kemandirian sebagai salah satu aspek keterampilan hidup yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa autis. Community engagement dipilih sebagai pendekatan kegiatan dengan melibatkan tim pengabdi bersama pihak sekolah mulai menyepakati jadwal, membuat persiapan, pelaksanaan hingga diseminasi. Melalui pengabdian ini, siswa autis dapat mengenal bentuk dan penggunaan bunga telang, mengetahui manfaat menjaga kebersihan, dan mendapatkan dukungan sosial terhadap perkembangan keterampilan hidupnya. Kegiatan pengabdian ini penting dilakukan sebagai bentuk perhatian khusus agar perilaku siswa lebih terkendali. Harapan tim pengabdi, siswa autis terus diberikan dukungan positif agar kualitas hidupnya menjadi meningkat. Saran bagi pengabdi yang tertarik pada seputar anak autis, perlu dirancang metode pemberian dukungan kesehatan kepada anak autis, supaya dapat turut melengkapi peningkatan kualitas hidupnya
