Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Nature-Based Learning (NBL) at Sanggar Anak Alam (SALAM) as a means of developing students' social character. A descriptive qualitative method was used, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study were 15 students selected purposively. The results showed that NBL was implemented through project-based activities, inclusive interactions, and regular reflections, effectively shaping students' responsibility, empathy, and environmental awareness. Despite challenges such as limited facilities and a lack of teaching method variation, curriculum innovation and community involvement helped address these issues. The findings emphasize that NBL not only enhances academic skills but also social character, making it a relevant and applicable holistic education model

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of implementing project-based thematic learning on enhancing the creativity of elementary school students. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by examining five research articles published in nationally accredited journals from 2015 to 2025. The primary data sources are secondary data in the form of previous research articles, obtained through a systematic search using Google Scholar and other academic databases. Data collection was carried out by selecting articles based on the keywords "Project Based Learning" and "student creativity," using well-defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach, focusing on learning models, implementation stages, and their effects on students' creativity. The results show that project-based thematic learning significantly improves students’ creative thinking skills, encourages active engagement in the learning process, and fosters critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Therefore, this approach is proven to be an effective innovative learning strategy for developing student potential in 21st-century education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the discovery learning model in thematic learning for fifth-grade elementary school students. The research employs a qualitative approach using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Data sources consist of 20 national journal articles published between 2019 and 2024, retrieved through Google Scholar with the assistance of the Publish or Perish application. Data collection techniques involve identifying articles using keywords such as “discovery learning,” “thematic learning,” and “learning outcomes in elementary school,” followed by screening based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Selected articles focused on the application of discovery learning in grade five thematic instruction and reported measurable learning outcomes. Data analysis was conducted by reviewing, documenting, and synthesizing findings from the selected articles into descriptive narratives and summary tables. The analysis shows that the implementation of discovery learning increases students’ average learning outcomes from 60.2 to 84.5 and improves mastery levels from 38–60% to 80–100%. Moreover, students’ motivation, activeness, and critical and creative thinking skills also improved significantly. Therefore, discovery learning is recommended as an innovative pedagogical approach to enhance learning engagement and academic achievement in elementary thematic education.
