Abstract

BPS data shows a decrease in the number of people working in the agricultural sector and the age structure of farmers is dominated by older farmers. The decline in the number of farmer households in Indonesia is caused by several factors, including death or moving out of the agricultural sector, and on the other hand there are fewer new residents involved in the agricultural sector. However, an interesting phenomenon in West Bandung Regency is that horticulture farming is beginning to be sought after by young farmers. This study aimed to provide an overview of young farmers analyzed through the characteristics, perceptions, and background of young farmers in running horticulture farming in West Bandung Regency. This research was a quantitative research with survey techniques. Respondents in this study were 120 young farmers who were randomly selected. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that there were still a few young farmers who were college graduates, have the land of <0.5 ha and not long enough to run farming. Most young farmers have parents who also work as farmers. The main factor that drives young farmers to engage in agriculture were parental and evirontment support and quite promising opportunities in the horticulture sub-sector.Keywords : Farmer, Young, Horticulture

Abstract

 Perkembangan revolusi industri 4.0 terjadi di berbagai sektor, termasuk pada sektor pertanian,, dalam hal ini penggunaan ritel online untuk menjual hasil panen komoditas pertanian. Konsumen yang awalnya berbelanja di ritel tradisional atau modern mulai membeli di ritel online. Perubahan ini dipengaruhi oleh adanya perubahan perilaku pembelian konsumen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mendeskripsikan faktor yang memengaruhi keputusan pembelian konsumen dalam berbelanja sayur dan buah di ritel online; dan 2) menganalisis keterkaitan antar-faktor tersebut terhadap keputusan pembelian sayur dan buah di ritel online. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei terhadap 100 orang responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) faktor psikologi (persepsi) sangat memengaruhi keputusan konsumen sayur dan buah dalam membeli sayur dan buah di ritel online, (2) faktor pribadi memengaruhi keputusan mereka dalam membeli sayur dan buah di ritel online, (3) faktor sosial memengaruhi keputusan konsumen sayur dan buah dalam membeli sayur dan buah di ritel online, (4) faktor budaya tidak memengaruhi  keputusan konsumen sayur dan buah dalam membeli sayur dan buah di ritel online, (5) fktor psikologis, pribadi, sosial dan budaya berkorelasi nyata dengan proses pengambilan keputusan mereka dalam membeli buah dan sayur di ritel online.

Abstract

The quality decreasing of the environment could be caused by household consumption behavior. Consumer's positive attitude toward environmental issues can be encouraged through socialization about eco-friendly lifestyles. Kelompok Tani Cipta Mandiri is one of the organic vegetable producers that used eco-friendly issues marketing. This study were aimed to analyze eco-friendly education which was conducted by Cipta Mandiri farmer group; consumer attitudes about environmental issues; and the influence of eco-friendly education and demographic characteristics toward consumer eco-friendly attitude and behavior. Respondents in this study were 60 consumers who bought through the 'Small Market'. Descriptive and path analysis were used to accomplish the objectives of this study. The results showed that eco-friendly education which is conducted by Cipta Mandiri farmers group encourages consumers' positive behaviour about environment friendly issues. Most of the consumers understood the purpose and benefits of educational activities, feel attracted to these activities, and be willing to behave environment friendly. The income had significantly influence on the consumer's attitude, especially affective and conative dimensions. Meanwhile, consumer's attitude had a positive impact on eco-friendly behavior. Therefore, government or other institutions can encourage producers to do social business activities to increase consumer awareness of environment friendly behavior.

Abstract

This paper aims to identify the actors and factors that create a successful agricultural entrepreneurship ecosystem. Agricultural development can run sustainably if the actors in it synergize with each other, giving the best contribution to create a successful agriculture. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher has conducted a literature analysis on collaboration between actors contained in the agricultural entrepreneurship ecosystem, so as to encourage agricultural activities to become more advanced and sustainable. In addition, this research also presents a model that shows an effective agricultural entrepreneurship ecosystem. Collaboration is an effort to increase the business and innovation capacity of each actor in the agricultural entrepreneurship ecosystem. This is an agricultural need for supportive policies, so as to encourage technological innovation and information/knowledge transfer among agricultural actors (farmers, government, agribusiness companies, financial institutions, social communities). This condition is expected to encourage the progress of agriculture as a whole, involving all actors involved in it.
