Abstract

Produktivitas nelayan skala kecil di pesisir timur Kabupaten Bangka dapat lebih ditingkatkan melalui inovasi alat bantu rumpon portabel, pengembangan aplikasi untuk mencari titik lokasi ikan, pemanfaatan koperasi perikanan, pengelolaan pesisir berbasis RZWP3K, revitalisasi perairan laut yang terkena dampak aktivitas penambangan, perluasan kawasan konservasi, serta dukungan dan pelindungan nelayan kecil dalam rangka mendukung capaian target indikator SDG 14.Title: Small-Scale Fisheries Efficiency in Conflict Areas in Bangka RegencyThis study aims to analyze the productivity and efficiency of small-scale fisheries in the conflict areas of the eastern coast of Bangka Regency. The research was conducted in a small fishing center, including Deniang Village (Riau Silip Subdistrict), Rebo Village, and Matras Village (Sungailiat Subdistrict) in 2021. The research employs descriptive-quantitative. The respondents were 67 fishers consisting of 21 stationary lift net fishers, 29 hand-line fishers, and 17 drift gill net fishers. During the in-season (April - October), the average productivity of stationary lift net fishers hand-line fisher and drift gill net fishers was 857.1 kg/trip, 41.1 kg/trip, 24.8 kg/trip, respectively. Meanwhile, during the out-of-season (November - March), the average productivity of fishers decreased by 92%. The average efficiency values of the small-scale fishers on the eastern coast of Bangka Regency were moderate, with an average value of R/C ratio > 1, where RC ratio for the stationary lift net, hand-line and drift gill net was 1.15, 1.36 and 1.35, respectively. The efficiency value of fishing gear in the conflict area was lower than that of the same fishing gear in non-conflict areas, such as in Tanjung Pura Village of Central Bangka Regency and Celagen Island of Southeast Bangka. The productivity of small-scale fishers can be further improved through the innovation of portable fishing aggregating device (FAD), the development of applications to find fish location points, utilization of fishery cooperatives, coastal management based on RZWP3K, and revitalization of marine waters affected by mining activities, expansion of conservation areas, as well as support and protection of small-scale fishers in order to support the achievement of SDG 14 indicator targets.

Abstract

Squid (Loligo sp) is one of the most essential fishery commodities and ranks third after fish and shrimp in commercial fisheries. The freshness of the squid is a very important factor and is closely related to its economic value. One of the actors in the marine commodity storage business at Rebo Beach, Bangka Regency uses Cucumbers to maintain the quality of Squid. Until now there has been no scientific research that proves that Cucumber can be used as a preservative for Squid. For this reason, it is necessary to research to examine the effect of using cucumber at different concentrations and soaking times on the organoleptic assessment of squid quality. This research was conducted in February 2020. The handling process for the Squid was carried out at the Squid shelter in Baturusa, Merawang District, Bangka Regency. In contrast, the organoleptic tests were carried out at the Aquaculture Laboratory of the University of Bangka Belitung. The research was conducted by experimental method. The research variables were differences in the concentration of grated Cucumber and differences in the length of soaking Squid. This study used RAL (Completely Randomized Design) Factorial pattern with 2 factors and 3 replications. Treatment factor by giving grated Cucumber and control or using ice cubes at different times and doses. The soaking times in this study were 24 hours and 48 hours with grated cucumber measurements of 50, 100, and 150 grams per 5 liters of water. Data analysis in this study used the Kruskarwalis test. Squid treated with grated cucumber had the same brightness level as ice cubes after 24 hours of soaking. Giving grated Cucumber does not affect the taste and texture of Squid to the level of people's preferences. Giving grated Cucumber as much as 150 g with 24 hours of soaking time can be accepted by consumers and can compete with Squid which is given ice cube treatment.

Abstract

The trading system for aquaculture products is the process of distributing goods in the form of fish or derivative products from producers to final consumers effectively and efficiently. The objectives of this research are: 1) Analyzing aquaculture supply chain management in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province; and 2) Develop recommendations for the direction of development of the aquaculture trade system. This research method is a survey. The data sources in this research are primary and secondary data. The primary data collection method is qualitative, namely the researcher makes questionnaires, observations and interviews. Secondary data comes from production data from the Fisheries Service/BPS/pokdakan/regency/city companies in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. Respondents in this study were informants at the District/City Fisheries Service, Pokdakan, and the shrimp farming industry (micro/small/medium/large scale). Data analysis is descriptive. The research results show that the grouper aquaculture supply chain is more efficient than the shrimp aquaculture supply chain, because it involves more companies from outside the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. The direction of development of the aquaculture trade system which refers to supply chain management has not yet implemented Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Regulation No. 5/Permen-KP/2014 concerning the National Fish Logistics System (SLIN). Understanding of the cold chain is still low. Then the problem at the collection and storage stage is the availability of facilities (cold storage) as well as the availability of basic infrastructure such as electricity, clean water and others, and the availability of facilities (unplug reefer).

Abstract

The east coast of Bangka Island is an area prone to conflicts of interest, due to the use of the coast for tin mining and fishing by traditional fishermen. The threat of destruction of mangrove forests due to community tin mining on the east coast of Bangka Island has caused a decline in the crab population as the main catch of local fishermen. The study aimed to analyze efforts to manage mangrove ecosystems in conflict zones. The study was conducted from June to October 2023. The primary data was obtained through interviews fishermen community, direct observation, and documentation. The data analysis methods employed utilize a descriptive approach.  Based on the survey results, the impact of tin mining activities causes a decrease in the area of mangrove forests. Reporting that the income of traditional fishermen in the productive fishing season is around IDR 65,000/day or IDR 980,000/month. Meanwhile, in the bad season, the income of traditional fishermen is IDR 13,000/day or IDR 205,000/month.  Efforts to manage mangrove resources in conflict zones include mangrove restoration and mangrove forest educational tourism. The government's enforcement of regulations regarding the prohibition of tin mining in mangrove forest areas must be more massive so that mangrove resources remain sustainable. The government must significantly enhance the enforcement of legislation pertaining to the prohibition of tin mining in mangrove forest regions in order to ensure the long-term sustainability of mangrove resources.

Abstract

Managing Mud Crab resources is the main thing that must be done to maintain the sustainability of these resources so that they can continue to make an economic contribution to society. A study of Mud Crabs that can be carried out is on morphometric trusses and their morphology. This research was carried out from April to June 2022 with sampling locations in mangroves in Pagarawan Village, Bangka Regency, and Kurau Village, Central Bangka Regency. The Mangrove Crab species found at sampling locations in Bangka and Central Bangka were Scylla serrata and Scylla tranquebarica. There are morphological variations in crab carapace color between sampling locations. The morphometrics of mud crabs from Bangka were larger but showed no significant differences. Differences in substrate type and environmental conditions are predicted to influence the emergence of variations. The location of the sampling locations, which are still connected to the same sea waters, allows the crabs to have close genetic and population relationships, making the variation insignificant.
