Abstract

The initiation of the development of Ngesrepbalong Village as a green economy-based avocado center is supported by the village's regional conditions. A green economy needs to be implemented because Ngesrepbalong is known to be the only village in Kendal Regency that has the potential for landslides. Landslide mitigation can be done by increasing the population of deep-rooted, compact, and massive woody trees such as avocados so that water can be retained and the soil becomes stable. The priority problems of the Gunungsari farmer partners in Ngesrepbalong Village include management and production aspects of preparing their area as an avocado center area. Farmer group institutions have yet to be available, and most avocados are not superior varieties. This activity aims to initiate Ngesrepbalong as a green economy-based avocado center. Activities will occur in May-November 2023 through socialization, training and mentoring, application of technology and mentoring, monitoring and evaluation, and sustainability program. The institution of superior avocado farmers was realized by forming the "Gunung Berkah" avocado farmer group. Facilities and infrastructure such as seedling houses, grafting knives, and others were used to propagate 300 seedlings, and top working on 15 adult avocado trees. The superior variety of trees used for grafting and TW is Diane avocado. Increased empowerment of farmer partners is measured after program implementation. The results of measuring the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective/enthusiasm aspects via questionnaires showed the highest to lowest increases in the affective/enthusiasm, cognitive, and psychomotor aspects, respectively. The availability of grafting and TW facilities and infrastructure, as well as increasing farmers' abilities in these three aspects, is a manifestation of the achievements of the initiation of Ngesrepbalong Village to become a superior avocado center based on a green economy.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children program and to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors within both the school and pesantren (Islamic boarding school) environments. The research employs a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation, conducted over a three-month period (May–July 2025) at SMPS Islam Al Fadhila and Pondok Pesantren Al Fadhila. Data analysis follows the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that the 7 Habits—waking up early, worship, physical exercise, healthy and nutritious eating, enthusiasm for learning, community involvement, and going to bed early—are implemented in a structured and consistent manner. The synergy between the school and the pesantren plays a crucial role in embedding these habits into the students’ daily lives. The habits are incorporated through daily routines, character education programs, and collaborative efforts among educational stakeholders. Key supporting factors include the active engagement of school principals, teachers, pesantren administrators, and parents, along with the availability of facilities that support health and religious practices. These elements create an environment conducive to character development. However, several inhibiting factors were also identified. Among them are negative peer influences, lack of consistent role modeling from some junior pesantren staff, and occasional resistance from students adjusting to strict routines. This study contributes to a broader understanding of how holistic character education can be effectively integrated into dual educational systems (school and pesantren). The findings suggest the importance of consistency, collaboration, and environment in cultivating positive student behavior. It also provides a practical reference for educators seeking to implement similar programs in other Islamic educational institutions across Indonesia.

Abstract

The designation of the UNNES Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK) at Mount Ungaran has brought new opportunities and uncertainties for communities living adjacent to the forest, particularly in Desa Ngesrepbalong, Kendal Regency. Many residents were not fully informed about the change in forest governance, the boundaries of the KHDTK, or their potential roles in its management. This community service program aimed to strengthen local understanding and encourage collaborative engagement in conservation and sustainable utilization of the forest area. The activities were conducted through coordination with local authorities, socialization sessions, field visits, and participatory discussions involving village officials, forest farmer groups, and community representatives. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, and feedback forms to assess changes in knowledge and attitudes. The program found that direct dialogue and joint field supervision of forest boundaries significantly reduced community concerns, particularly among coffee farmers previously involved under the Perhutani scheme. The transition from one-way socialization to participatory collaboration helped build mutual trust and opened pathways for sustainable partnership between the university and local stakeholders. It is recommended that follow-up programs focus on structured community-based forest management schemes, continuous mentoring, and integration of conservation principles into local economic activities to ensure long-term sustainability.

Abstract

The rise of reflective content on YouTube underscores the need for pragmatic research that investigates not only what is said but also the effects of speech on audiences (perlocution). This study aims to analyze the speech act forms associated with perlocutionary effects on Henny Kristianus’s YouTube channel, focusing on the theme of maturity of mind, and to map observable indicators in viewers’ responses. A qualitative descriptive approach with pragmatic content analysis was employed. Data were drawn from transcripts of two videos and corresponding audience comments. The analysis identified three dimensions: (1) types of illocutions (advice, invitation, warning, empathetic assertion), (2) rhetorical/multimodal devices (metaphor, personal narrative, reflective question, call to action), and (3) observable perlocution indicators (attitude change, behavioral intention, emotional support). The findings show that empathetic and reflective utterances most frequently produce perlocutionary effects such as cognitive clarification, behavioral intention, and social reinforcement among viewers. These results suggest that the perlocutionary strength in digital discourse is influenced by the harmony between linguistic strategy, message depth, and communicated maturity values. Theoretically, this research enriches Indonesian digital pragmatics studies. Practically, it provides educators and content creators with insights to design ethical, persuasive, and character-building educational discourse.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of deixis in the film Habibie and Ainun (2012) through a pragmatic approach and to explore its implications for character education. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method by analyzing utterances containing personal, spatial, temporal, discourse, and social deixis in the main characters’ dialogues. The data were obtained through transcription and contextual interpretation to uncover the pragmatic meanings embedded in the linguistic expressions. The findings reveal that deixis functions not only as a linguistic reference marker but also as a medium for expressing and reinforcing character values such as loyalty, responsibility, perseverance, and love. The contextual use of language in the film reflects the process of moral formation and emotional depth, demonstrating how language contributes to shaping character development. This study contributes to the development of Indonesian language learning by emphasizing the integration of pragmatic analysis and character education through film media. Therefore, it is recommended that language educators utilize educational films containing pragmatic elements as effective learning resources to enhance both linguistic competence and moral awareness among students.
