Abstract

The low learning outcomes of elementary school students on the topic of gravitational force indicate the need for innovative learning media to improve students' motivation and academic performance. This study aims to examine the effect of using liveworksheet media and learning motivation on students' learning outcomes in grade 4 of elementary school. The research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 27 students in the experimental class and 27 students in the control class. The instruments used were learning outcome tests and learning motivation questionnaires. The pretest t-test showed no significant difference between the two classes (Sig. = 0.293). The posttest t-test revealed a significant difference in learning outcomes (Sig. = 0.006). The t-test for learning motivation also showed a significant difference between the classes (Sig. = 0.000). The f-test (ANOVA) indicated a significant interaction between the use of Liveworksheet media and learning motivation on students' learning outcomes (Sig. = 0.021). These findings demonstrate that the use of Liveworksheet media and learning motivation have a positive influence on improving students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using Ferrofluid media on the understanding of the concept of magnets and magnetic fields of fifth grade elementary school students. The background of this study is based on the low understanding of students towards abstract science material and the lack of use of innovative experimental media such as Ferrofluid in learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the pretest and posttest control group design type. The subjects of this study consisted of 76 students of SDN 1 Dampit who were divided into experimental and control classes. The instrument was in the form of multiple-choice questions that were tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis technique in this study used prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity tests) and hypothesis tests using independent sample t-tests. The results of this study showed that there was a significant difference between the posttest results of the experimental and control classes. The conclusion of this study is that the use of ferrofluid as an experimental medium has a positive impact on improving students' understanding of the concept of magnets and magnetic fields. The implication of this study is the importance of using experimental media based on concrete visualization in science learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of sound waves in the making and playing of Yogyakarta gamelan through a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) learning approach, addressing the urgent need for scientific documentation amid the declining sustainability of this cultural heritage. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a case study design, the research examines the material composition, forging techniques, and acoustic properties of gamelan, incorporating insights from four experienced gamelan craftsmen and a gamelan practitioner (wiyaga) in Yogyakarta. Findings reveal that the optimal bronze composition (a 77:23 copper-tin ratio) and traditional manufacturing processes significantly influence sound characteristics, such as sustain, harmonic richness, and tonal depth, aligning with principles of material physics (Young's modulus, density, and damping coefficient) and vibration mechanics. Despite practitioners' reliance on empirical knowledge, their techniques demonstrate an implicit understanding of STEM concepts, particularly in tuning and sound optimization. However, a disconnect remains between scientific terminology and traditional practice, highlighting the need for culturally sensitive STEM integration in gamelan education. The study concludes that a holistic STEM approach can bridge scientific and cultural perspectives, supporting both the preservation of Yogyakarta gamelan and innovative educational models. Recommendations include STEM-based training for artisans and further research on alternative materials while preserving traditional sound aesthetics.

Abstract

This study aims to identify student learner profiles based on a combination of prior knowledge and Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) levels and to analyze the differential impact of an adaptive learning module on knowledge and SRL improvement in each profile. Using a mixed-methods explanatory sequential design, 92 undergraduate physics education students were selected through purposive sampling. K-Means cluster analysis was applied to form learner profiles, followed by a six-week pre–post intervention and qualitative interviews. The results identified three learner profiles (Proficient-Autonomous Learner, Resilient-Developing Learner, and Proficient-Fragile Achiever). The result showed that the adaptive module significantly improved Results showed significant knowledge gains across profiles, while SRL improvements differed significantly. The Proficient–Fragile Achiever group demonstrated the largest SRL gain (p < .001; large effect size, d > 0.80), associated with more frequent scaffolding support. In conclusion, the effectiveness of adaptive modules is highly dependent on learner profiles, with the most significant benefits in their ability to provide external support for building self-regulation skills. These findings imply that learning technology design should incorporate SRL as a key variable for personalization, and institutions can utilize these platforms as intervention tools for students with weak learning independence.

Abstract

Purple sweet potato Gunung Kawi is only sold raw, the price is very cheap. This causes the farmers to suffer losses. On the other hand, quite a lot of Wonosari Gunung Kawi residents become female migrant worker, because there are not enough producers in the village to meet the residents' needs. Based on that, the processing of purple sweet potato Gunung Kawi is needed to be developed into an effort that can absorb labor. The purpose of this service is to produce a purple sweet potato product business for residents of Wonosari Gunung Kawi. The service method used is through three stages, the first stage is preparation for coordination and outreach activities to partners. The second stage is implementation phase of training carried out training on the processing of purple sweet potato Gunung Kawi into several products such as sticks, bakpia and brownies from purple sweet potato of Gunung Kawi. The third stage is evaluation and assistance. The instruments in this service were interview sheets and activity observations. The results of the service show that the community has been able to produce and package products that are ready for sale and according to health standards.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of differentiated instruction and learning motivation on elementary school students’ learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), within the context of instructional practices aligned with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. A quantitative quasi-experimental design with a 2×2 factorial model was employed to analyze the main and interaction effects of instructional approach and learning motivation. The participants were 46 sixth-grade students from two elementary schools, consisting of an experimental group taught using differentiated instruction and a control group taught using conventional instructional methods. Data were collected through a learning outcomes test and a learning motivation questionnaire and analyzed using Two-Way ANOVA at a significance level of 0.05. The results indicated that students who received differentiated instruction achieved significantly higher learning outcomes than those who received conventional instruction. Learning motivation also had a significant effect, with highly motivated students demonstrating better academic achievement. However, no significant interaction effect was found between instructional approach and learning motivation, suggesting that differentiated instruction is more effective in improving learning outcomes regardless of students’ motivation levels. These findings provide empirical evidence supporting the implementation of differentiated instruction in IPAS learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools still faces challenges in presenting abstract concepts, including metamorphosis, which often makes it difficult for students to understand the stages of animal transformation comprehensively. This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of a 3D animal miniature learning media based on Augmented Reality (AR) using Web Edu Assembler for the topic of complete and incomplete metamorphosis for third-grade elementary students. The study employed a Research and Development method using the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The effectiveness test was conducted using a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 55 third-grade students. The results indicate that the developed media is highly feasible based on expert validation from material experts (96.4%), media experts (98%), and language experts (100%). The media was also considered highly practical based on teacher assessments and student responses. The average pretest score of 52.20 increased to 93.09 in the posttest, with an N-Gain score of 0.8250, categorized as high.
