Abstract

Global climate change has significantly disrupted rainfall patterns in tropical regions, posing major challenges to agricultural productivity and food security. Accurate rainfall prediction has become a critical component of data-driven agricultural management. This study conducts a systematic literature review (SLR) following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines to analyze the evolution of AI-based rainfall prediction systems and their multidimensional impacts on tropical agricultural management over the period 2008–2026. Data were sourced from Scopus using three Boolean search strings, yielding 239 records, of which 235 articles were retained after duplicate removal and quality assessment using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT) with a threshold score of ≥5. Bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix (R), while thematic narrative synthesis was performed using NVivo 14. Results reveal a clear four-phase technological evolution: conventional methods (2008–2015), machine learning adoption (2016–2020), deep learning and IoT integration (2021–2023), and multimodal and large language model era (2024–2026). Technical impacts dominated the corpus (accuracy improvements of 18–35%), while social and economic impact studies remain critically underrepresented (2.6% and 0.9%, respectively). Key research gaps identified include poor model interpretability (black-box problem), limited integration with decision support systems (DSS), inadequate tropical-specific model development, and the near-total absence of longitudinal impact evaluations. This study contributes a holistic synthesis integrating technological evolution with multidimensional impact analysis, offering strategic recommendations for developing more adaptive, transparent, and equitable AI rainfall prediction systems aligned with SDG 2, SDG 13, and SDG 15

Abstract

Forest and land fires in Central Kalimantan are environmental problems influenced by natural factors and human activities, resulting in complex causal relationship patterns. This study aims to analyze wildfire cause patterns in Central Kalimantan using an IndoBERT-based NLP and AI approach integrated with causal pattern mining on online news articles. Data were collected through web scraping from six local and national news portals using nine Google search queries related to wildfires, resulting in 436 relevant articles as the main corpus. The methodological stages included text preprocessing, semantic representation using a 768-dimensional IndoBERT transformer model, topic discovery using BERTopic, and causal pattern analysis through co-occurrence analysis and contextual relation mining. The topic discovery results identified 10 main topics, with the topic “extreme dry season” dominating with 104 data points, followed by “hot weather and drought” (54 data points). Anthropogenic factors such as intentional land burning, land clearing activities, and human negligence were also identified as significant causes. Contextual relation mining results showed that the words “land” (1,473 occurrences), “smoke” (938), “dry season” (334), and “peatland” (288) were the most dominant causal contexts, while co-occurrence analysis generated 37,581 word pairs forming a causal network. Future studies are recommended to integrate spatial data, expand the dataset, and implement knowledge graphs to support real-time wildfire disaster intelligence systems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the behavioral intention and use behavior of the Academic Information System (SIAKAD) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya. Using the UTAUT 2 model adapted for a mandatory system context, the price value and hedonic motivation variables were excluded. This research involved 383 student respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) via SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicate that all variables performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, and habit have a positive and significant effect on behavioral intention (R2=0.502), which subsequently acts as a strong predictor of actual use behavior (R2=0.476). The novelty of this research lies in the modification of the UTAUT 2 model, aligned with the characteristics of mandatory information systems in regional higher education institutions. The findings show that while habits have been formed, the institution needs to strengthen facilitating conditions to minimize semi-manual processes. These results provide a theoretical contribution to the technology adoption literature as well as practical recommendations for university management in optimizing academic digital transformation.
