Abstract

In the era of disruption, digital literacy is a must in the communication process, particularly for students or santri in schools and madrassas. As one of the most active social media users, Madrasah and Dayah students must understand the difference between trustworthy and fake news (hoaxes) that has been mixed in cyberspace, susceptible news that has the potential to affect the realm of law and religious extremism. The digital literacy assistance targets Aliyah students in four popular boarding schools in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar regency, with a focus on debunking fake news. This paper employs participatory learning and action (PLA) as a technique for assisting school-aged children. In practice, it was discovered that Aliyah students have a limited understanding of digital literacy, particularly in relation to factors that contribute to the suppression of fake news. It is anticipated that the results make a significant contribution to socialization efforts and targeted campaigns to raise awareness of digital literacy among elementary and secondary school-aged children, as well as its incorporation into the curriculum.

Abstract

The sea is one area that is part of people's lives in Indonesia, especially in West Aceh Regency, Aceh Province. The wealth of the sea makes it a source of income for some people who have a profession as fishermen. However, the condition of the sea will not be separated from illegal fishing actions carried out by irresponsible parties, causing disruption of marine ecosystems and sources of public opinion. Therefore, it is necessary for the participation of various parties in protecting the marine area. This study aims to obtain a persuasive strategy of Pangilma Laot in increasing the participation of various parties to assist law enforcement in guarding illegal fishing activities. The research method used in this research is participatory action research which involves various parties involved to play an active role in the object of study in this research. The results of this study prove the need for the participation of various parties in supporting panglima laot for law enforcement to reduce the number of illegal fishing.

Abstract

South Aceh Regency, Aceh Province is one area that has a variety of tourist destinations, both marine tourism, mountains, water, culture, religion and a number of other destinations. One of the efforts to improve the image of a tourist destination in an area is through city branding, namely the strategy of a region in making a strong positioning towards their market, in this case tourists, such as positioning a product or service, so that the city can be widely known by the public. . However, the concept of city branding carried out by the South Aceh Tourism Office (Dispar) has not been analyzed sharply and in depth as an illustration and benchmark for tourism promotion in the district. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that mapping surveys, competitive analysis, blueprints and implementation are important for building city branding in South Aceh

Abstract

Installation of advertisements and campaign props on trees in West Aceh Regency has begun because the 2024 election campaign. It is suspected to be done because the wider community can easily see them and not require expensive promotional costs. West Aceh Regency Qanun has regulated the provisions prohibiting the installation of symbols, flags, banners, and other attributes in certain places. This study aims to find out and explain the suitability of West Aceh Regency Qanun Number 3 of 2021 with the concept of environmental ethics, find out the basis for exceptions to the installation of advertisements and campaign props on trees can be done with the permission of the Regent and find out how law enforcement against violations of the use of trees as a place to install advertisements and campaign props in West Aceh Regency. This study is an empirical juridical study with a prescriptive method that uses library research as secondary data and field study conducted to obtain primary data through interviews and FGDs with informants. The results show that Article 15, paragraphs (1) and (2) of West Aceh Qanun Number 3 of 2021 still need to follow environmental ethics. Hence, it creates a biased interpretation of whether or not the installation of advertisements and campaign props on tree media certainly impacts the emergence of inconsistencies.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat partisipasi inklusif penyandang disabilitas dalam proses pembaruan Undang-Undang Pemilu Aceh di Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi adalah masih terbatasnya akses, pemahaman, dan ruang partisipasi politik bagi kelompok disabilitas dalam proses perumusan kebijakan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan penyandang disabilitas sebagai subjek utama. Kegiatan dilaksanakan oleh Program Studi Ilmu Politik FISIP Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) bekerja sama dengan Yayasan Pembina Anak Cacat (YPAC) Aceh, serta melibatkan mitra seperti KIP, Bawaslu, dan stakeholders lainnya. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi identifikasi masalah, perencanaan partisipatif, pelaksanaan edukasi politik, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), serta refleksi dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta mengenai hak politik dan mekanisme pembaruan undang-undang, serta meningkatnya keberanian dalam menyampaikan aspirasi. Selain itu, kegiatan ini menghasilkan rekomendasi kebijakan yang berbasis kebutuhan riil penyandang disabilitas. Kesimpulannya, pendekatan partisipatif melalui PAR efektif dalam mendorong keterlibatan aktif penyandang disabilitas serta berkontribusi dalam mewujudkan sistem demokrasi yang inklusif dan responsif di Aceh.

Abstract

The Constitutional Court Decision No. 135/PUU-XXII/2024, which establishes unified concurrent local elections (Pemilu Daerah), creates a two-year legislative vacuum (2029–2031) in the Aceh House of Representatives (DPRA) and the Regency/Municipal House of Representatives (DPRK). This issue originates from a systematic domino effect caused by the fixed-term executive rule under Article 65 of the Law of Aceh Governance (UUPA) clashing with the rescheduled 2031 local electoral calendar. Therefore, this normative-doctrinal legal study aimed to reconstruct the transitional legal mechanisms governing the occupation of local legislative seats. In the process, statute, conceptual, case, and comparative methods were adopted. Brazil’s 1988 ADCT, Nepal’s 2007 Interim Constitution, and the legal mindsets of Constitutional Court Decisions No. 55/2019 and 143/2023 served as comparative legal analogies. Furthermore, data were analysed qualitatively using a prescriptive method. The results showed that Model 1 (Limited Extension) and Model 2 (Collective Parliament) contained fundamental democratic deficits, as both bypassed direct electoral mandates. Model 3 proposed institutionalising an Interim Election with a one-off shortened term leading up to the 2031 concurrent cycle and was considered the most rational and constitutional solution. This scheme is technically viable for integration into the 2029 elections, supported by the General Elections Commission (KPU) Regulation No. 10/2023 and the digital infrastructure of the Aceh Independent Election Commission (KIP). In conclusion, the Interim Election served as a solid jural bridge to safeguard popular sovereignty while fully protecting the exclusive political recruitment rights of local political parties under Article 76 of the UUPA.

Abstract

Today's work climate has metamorphosed very dynamically, the human resources produced have also skyrocketed, but it does not match the available job vacancy. This becomes a problem every year as if there is no common ground. The implementation of Community Service facilitated by Assalam radio is directed to answer the above problems by providing enlightenment to prospective students, prospective alumni, and alumni of Communication Studies to be aware and ready for the realities of the existing job opportunities. Community Service was delivered in a talk show format, guided directly by Assalam practitioners. The initiators who also fill the program are two lecturers, one from Communication Studies, Teuku Umar University and the other from Islamic Communication and Broadcasting, State Islamic University Ar-Raniry. The results and conclusions that can be conveyed are that community service that was initiated runs smoothly with the support of complete broadcast media. Then the author views that dissemination or socialization in various formats is very important to be initiated for prospective students, prospective alumni, and alumni of Communication Studies so that they better understand the direction and job situation of the major taken. Because many of them are still pessimistic and confused about the majors that they have or are currently pursuing, whether they will get a job or not, there are great opportunities or not, promising or not, will become practitioners or academics, and other issues.

Abstract

Education is an effort to channel knowledge from educators to students through a tiered process. Elementary school students are students at the next level who must obtain extraordinary motivation to support the dream process they have, especially for students at SDN 7 Jeumpa, Aceh Barat Daya District. That way, creating an inspiring class that can give an idea of their dreams in the future will be a form of motivation that is able to push them toward a better future. The method used in this service is by lecturing, sharing sessions, and direct practice in accordance with the profession. The results of the dedication show that very many students at SDN 7 Jeumpa, Southwest Aceh District do not have high motivation in achieving their dreams and also that some of these students are still hesitant in determining their dreams, so they only follow what is conveyed by other students. That way, the results of this service provide a clear picture of the dream they will achieve and good motivation for students to pursue that dream.

Abstract

The urgency of socialization is the participation of the community, individuals and groups to participate together, according to the objectives of the socialization to convey knowledge and information to the public so that they understand and follow according to the wishes of the stakeholders. The socialization of the advantages of Teuku Umar University for students was carried out in order to provide an understanding of the progress and achievements of Teuku Umar University (UTU) after it was declared state by President Susilo Bambang Yudoyono (SBY) eight years ago. This socialization was carried out considering how students received reports on the success of UTU with the best achievements. Participation obtained from the socialization of campus excellence encourages and fosters the desires and talents of students to continue their education at UTU. The completion of the socialization is expected for students to have aspirations and prepare themselves and invite friends to register at UTU. This dissemination was enthusiastically attended by students from South West Aceh (Barsela). The presenter uses the method of communication plus interactive discussion/dialogue and asks several questions to the students. This communication procedure uses infocus and LCD facilities, the strategy is to display material through slides that are presented by showing various UTU excellence programs that have been achieved, as well as showing videos of the successes that have been achieved by UTU as a campus of pride for the people of West South Aceh.

Abstract

Kalangan perempuan nelayan di Gampong Rantoe Panjang Timur merupakan salah satu kelompok masyarakat yang dapat diberdayakan untuk pengembangan masyarakat. Salah satu aspek yang urgen untuk ditingkatkan adalah literasi digital. Literasi digital merupakan salah satu aspek yang perlu dimiliki oleh masyarakat untuk dapat menyesuaikan perkembangan teknologi komunikasi dan informasi. Dengan adanya literasi digital, kalangan perempuan nelayan dapat memanfaatkan media digital terutama media baru sebagai sarana pengembangan perekonomian dan eksistensi diri. Peningkatan literasi digital terhadap kalangan perempuan nelayan dilakukan dengan metode sosialisasi, yaitu penekanan pada dua model: 1) Penyampaian Materi, dan 2) Focus Group Discussion. Beberapa aspek yang ditekankan pada proses sosialisasi ini adalah penekanan pada 3M (Materi, Media, Metode). Materi berkaitan dengan apa pesan atau informasi yang dapat diolah dan diterima oleh kalangan perempuan nelayan, media berkaitan dengan media apa yang dapat digunakan, dan metode berkaitan dengan cara yang paling tepat dan efektif dalam memanfaatkan media yang ada.
