Abstract

The Validity of the Chemistry Module Based on Inquiry Social Complexity (ISC) to Empower Critical and Creative Thinking (CCT) Skills. A study has been conducted on the validity of the inquiry social complexity (ISC) based learning module to empower students' critical and creative thinking skills. The research method uses descriptive methods. The learning modules developed are validated and evaluated. Validation is carried out for experts in the fields of language, material, design, and learning instruments. While the evaluation phase is given to teachers and students, this is because teachers and students are directly involved in the implementation of the ISC module. So it is expected that the ISC module evaluation results can be objective. ISC module evaluation given to teachers and students consists of four aspects, namely Content, Language, Presentation, and Graphic. The assessment criteria consist of a scale of 4, while the assessment by experts and evaluators uses a Likert 4 scale. The results of the language expert assessment, material, design, and evaluation of learning are in the excellent category. Student assessment results are in the very good category, and teacher ratings are in a good category. Keywords: inquiry social complexity (isc), modules, critical thinking, creative thinking, chemistry.

Abstract

Hypothetical Subjects in Curriculum Structure for Developing Managerial Competencies in Educational Technology. This study aims to understand better one of instructional technology domain: managing. This topic is critical to be learned for better understanding and to have a proper basic theory for developing a curriculum structure of field study, especially to build management competencies. Then, we could propose an alternative for the improvement of the curriculum that has a theoretical foundation. The study used a qualitative approach by applying the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) method, a critical analysis of the content of discourse objects that are text, gap, and potential aspect may be, and then proposed an alternative for taking action. Results show; first, there are four subdomains for managing instructional technology, with each orientation and characteristics. Second, Seels and Richey's subdomain of managing instructional technology could guide the study program's curriculum structure development. Third, in case of curriculum of Educational Technology Study Program, Faculty of Education, UPI there are gap between theoretical and document. To overcome the gap in developing instructional technology competencies in managing domain, we propose adding at least one relevant course for the primary and holistic foundation of managing aspect in curriculum structure of Educational Technology Program. Keywords: curriculum, educational technology, critical discourse analysis.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i2.202468

Abstract

Managerial Leadership Principal of Senior High School: Case Studies in SMAN 2 Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. Objective: This study aims to analyze and describe the managerial leadership of the Principal of State Senior High School 2 Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. Methods: This research uses a matching method with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The research was conducted at State Senior High School 2 Bandar Lampung with the number of respondents as many as 60 teachers in the school environment. Findings: Data obtained through field observations, questionnaires and supported by interviews and documentation. The results show that (1) principal managerial leadership in conceptual skills involves teacher participation in order to create an effective school, (2) there is a synergy of a harmonious relationship between leaders and teachers in realizing school achievement, and (3) mapping the development of leadership techniques skills for principals. and the acceleration of the residence period of students and an increase in the quality of the master program in educational management.Keywords: effective school management, teachers, quality of school.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v11.i3.202120
