Abstract

Bamboo Kuning (Bambusa vulgaris Shard) leaves its efficacy as antioxidant, anti-inflammation, antidiabetic and antiulcer. The study aims to know volume edema decrease of rats foot as anti-inflammatory effect and the amount of strectching mice an analgesic effect the decoction of Bamboo Kuning. Anti-inflammatory test used Winter methods. Rats were be diveded into 5 groups: negative control be given aquadest, positive control be given sodium diclofenac 4,367 mg/200g BB, the test groups were given the decoction of Bamboo Kuning leaves 2,8 mL/200g BB with a concentration of 10%, 20% and 40%. Analgesic testing used methods Sigmund. Mice were divided into 5 groups: negative control be given aquadest, positive control were given sodium diclofenak 0,26 mg/20g BB, the test group was given the boiled of bamboo kuning leaves 0,4 mL/20g BB with concentration 10%, 20% and 40%. Statistic result decoction of leaves Bamboo Kuning dose 2,8 mL/200g BB with concentration 10%, 20% and 40% have anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. Decoction of Bamboo Kuning leaves dose 2,8 mL/200g BB with concentration of 10%, 20% and 40% have anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect are lower than sodium diclofenac. Increased dose boiled of Bamboo Kuning leaves no provide increased effect as an anti-inflammatory and analgesic.

Abstract

Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) is a plant which can be used to treat various diseases, including diabetes mellitus. This research was conducted to investigate the effect of rambutan seed infusion on the mice blood glucose levels and body weight. In this research, 30 mice (Mus musculus) were divided into 6 groups, each group consists of 5 mice. The 6 groups consists of a normal control group (distilled water), negative control group (alloxan tetrahydrate 250 mg/kg bw + distilled water), three experimental groups (induced with alloxan 250 mg/kg bw) were given rambutan seed infusion of 1.56 gram/kg bw, 2.34 gram/kg bw and 3.12 gram/kg bw and a positive control group (alloxan tetrahydrate 250 mg/kg bw + treated with glibenclamide 0.65 mg/kg bw). After given treatment for 16 days, it was observed that high dose of rambutan seed infusion has significant effects in reducing the blood glucose and body weight of mice. Histology of the pancreas were checked and the ammount of live pancreatic beta cells found in high dose of rambutan seed infusion were almost the same as the positive control group. It can be concluded that the effect of high dose of rambutan seed infusion (3.12 gram/kg bw) was not significantly different from glibenclamide (0,65 mg/kg bw).

Abstract

Fennel fruit (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.) is one of traditional plant medicine known having effects as anti-infl ammatory, analgesic and antioxidant. It also has been reputed to increase milk secretion, promote menstruation, facilitate birth, alleviates the symptoms of the male climacteric andincrease libido. Fennel fruit contains mainly with essential oils, such as anethole. It also contains lignan and flavonoids that are predicted having an estrogen-like eff ect or as phytoestrogen. Phytoestrogen is weak agonists for estrogen and can elicit statistic signifi cantly increases in uterine wet weight, at definite dose, in the uterothrophic bioassay. It is known that estrogen has eff ect on woman’s sexual organ, such as proliferation of uterine, mammary and ovary. The aim of this research was to investigate the estrogenic eff ect of fennel fruit’s ethanolic extract in immature, 19 days old, Wistar female rats. These models represent the climacteric/menopause phase, where estrogen level is very low because in this age, estrogen not yet produced by ovary. The testing animals were divided into fi ve groups, namely normal group, estradiol control group and three level doses of fennel extract (30 mg/200 g BW; 60 mg/200 g BW and 120 mg/200 g BW). The result indicated that start on 60 mg/200 g BW, fennel extract signifi cantly (α=0.05) increased wet weight of uterine. Fennel extract also lengthen the uterine and increased proliferation of uterine, such as uterine diameters, endometrium diameters and uterine thickness on dose 60mg/200gBW and 120mg/200gBW. Analysis of vaginal smear showed vaginal lubrication eff ect, surprisingly start on 60mg/200BW could induce estrous cycle.

Abstract

As a consequence of Isoniazid (INH) consumption in longterm is the damage on the liver cells which is detected in high level of SGPT and SGOT in blood. Unripe pineapple fruits contained higher level of phenolic acid and flavonoids compounds than the ripe pineapple fruits, and as a result the unripe pineapple fruits juice has higher hepatoprotective potency than ripe pineapple fruits juice. The hepatoprotective activity of unripe pineapple fruits juice was determined by measuring the SGPT and SGOT level on rat blood. There were prepared 24 rats, divided into 6 groups, i.e. normal control group, positive control group, negative control group, and 3 test goups that were induced by INH and each was given the unripe pineapple fruits juice at 1 hour before and 1 hour after INH induction, with the dose of 2 mL and 4 mL. Treatment was conducted in 14 days, consecutively. To each of the rat groups, blood was taken out through the eye orbital sinus, i.e. on the first day, on the hour-0 and hour-3, and then the SGPT and SGOT level were measured. Later on, blood were taken out on the day-4, day-7, and day-14. On the rat blood that were taken out, were analyzed descriptively and statistically to determined the optimum dose and the time of the unripe pineapple fruits juice feeding in related with a hepatoprotective potency. Result showed that feeding of the unripe pineapple fruit juice 1 hour after INH induction with the dose of 2 mL during 14 days has the best hepatoprotective activity.

Abstract

Tulisan ini melaporkan tentang hasil percobaan penggunaan senyawa serat makanan, i-karaginan dan t-karaginan, untuk menurunkan kadar glukosa darah. Riset ini menerapkan metodeuji toleransi glukosa oral menggunakan kelinci sebagai hewan coba, dengan dosis pemberian 5 mL larutan 2%/kg bobot badan dan lama pemberian: t hari, 3 hari, dan 7 hari. Kontrol positif adalah klopropamida dengan dosis 4,9 mg/kg bobot badan, dan kontrol negatif adalah air suling.

Abstract

Naskah ini melaporkan hasil uji toksisitas akut (LD50) dan efek antioksidatif dari ekstrak air rumput faut Sargassum crassifolium. Penentuan LD50 menggunakan metode Weil dengan hewan percobaan mencit (Mus musculus) yang diberikan sediaan secara intraperitoneal (ip). Pada penelitian selanjutnya, digunakan hewan percobaan tikus (Raffus norvegicus L.).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the principal's leadership on teacher performance at MI Mi'rajulUlum TelukBeringin, Gunung Toar District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, and to determine the factors that influence the principal's leadership on teacher performance at MI Mi'rajul Ulum Teluk Beringin Subdistrict. Mount Toar, Kuantan Singingi Regency.The results of observations made at MIMi'rajulUlumTelukBeringin, GunungToar District, Kuantan Singingi Regency showed the following symptoms: 1) There are still teachers who are not professional in carrying out their duties. 2) There are still teachers who teach not according to their field. 3) Lack of teacher motivation in carrying out their duties. 4) There are still teachers who come late to class and do not complete their assignments on time. The data collection technique uses a simple linear regression analysis technique with the help of SPSS Based on the percentage achieved in this study, it can be seen that the principal at MI Mi'rajul Ulum Teluk Beringin, Gunung Toar District, Kuantan Singingi Regency made a significant contribution. The regression equation is Y-13.43+1.079X. From this equation the value of the principal's leadership coefficient is 1.079 which means, if the principal's leadership increases by one unit, the teacher's performance will increase by 1.079 units. After knowing the influence between the two variables, then proceed with finding the value of the coefficient of determination on teacher performance. Thus, the magnitude of the influence of the principal's leadership on the performance of teachers at MI Mi'rajul Ulum Teluk Beringin, GunungToar District, KuantanSingingi Regency is 77.4% which means it has an influence while 22.6% is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

Urinary tract infections (UTI) was an inflammatory response of the urethra when attacked by microorganisms. This disease can happen to people at all ages beginning with asymptomatic to moderately symptomatic infections. Thus far, antibiotic treat-ment was the best for curing the UTI although the chances for being resistance to the antibiotics were also high. Resistance to gram negative bacteri,a in particular, often occur with the antibiotics treatment. Our study at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (UI), Bacterial isolation from patient urine sample was performed in the microbiology laboratory of UI. A total of 50 urine samples were collected from X patients volunteered in our study for bacterial isolation, however, only 23 bacterial isolates were successfully obtained. Study was carried out to moni-tor the susceptibility of bacterial isolate towards several types of antibiotics (ofloksazim, amoxyicillin, fosfomisin and sefepim) using Cakram disffusion method. Study re-sults demonstrated that susceptibility of oflokazim to both gram positive and nega-tive bacteria was very low while amoxycillin showed desecding trend of efficacy towards all types of bacteria. Fosfomisin and sefepim, on the other hand, demon-strated strong susceptibility to both gram positive and negative bacteria found in the isolates. Furthermore, it is very interesting to observe ofloksazim was resistant to gram postivie and negative bacteria. Collectively, these research findings strongly illustrated the susceptibility patten and resistance scale of baterial isolates towards various antibiotic tested in the study.

Abstract

AbstractThe global food supply chain is highly vulnerable to geopolitical influences, affecting production and consumption activities. Recent geopolitical disruptions have highlighted the need for strategic foresight and risk management to enhance resilience. This study aims to analyze the multifaceted impact of geopolitical events on the food supply chain and propose strategies for enhancing its resilience and sustainability. A qualitative literature review was conducted, synthesizing findings from 50 peer-reviewed articles. Key findings reveal that geopolitical events such as conflicts, trade disputes, and regulatory changes significantly disrupt food supply chains, leading to food shortages and price volatility. Technological innovations and strategic foresight are critical in mitigating these impacts. Effective risk management, technological advancements, and adaptive governance frameworks are essential for building resilient food supply chains. Policymakers and stakeholders must collaborate to develop robust strategies that ensure food security in an increasingly volatile geopolitical landscape.Keywords: Food supply chain, geopolitical disruption, policy, resilience, risk management AbstrakRantai pasok pangan global sangat rentan terhadap pengaruh geopolitik yang memengaruhi aktivitas mulai dari produksi hingga konsumsi. Gangguan geopolitik baru-baru ini menyoroti bahwa tinjauan ke masa depan yang strategis dan manajemen risiko diperlukan untuk meningkatkan ketahanan ketahanan dan keberlanjutan rantai pasok pangan. Tinjauan literatur kualitatif dilakukan dengan mensintesis temuan dari 50 artikel jurnal. Temuan utama mengungkapkan bahwa peristiwa geopolitik seperti konflik, perselisihan perdagangan, dan perubahan peraturan secara signifikan mengganggu rantai pasok pangan sehingga menyebabkan kekurangan pangan dan ketidakstabilan harga. Inovasi teknologi dan tinjauan ke masa depan sangat penting dalam memitigasi dampak-dampak ini. Manajemen risiko yang efektif, kemajuan teknologi, dan kerangka tata kelola yang adaptif sangat penting untuk membangun rantai pasok pangan yang tangguh memastikan keamanan pangan dalam situasi geopolitik yang semakin bergejolak.Kata Kunci: Gangguan geopolitik, kebijakan, ketahanan, manajemen risiko, rantai pasok pangan
