Abstract

Primary dysmenorrhea is pain during menstruation period due to high levels of prostaglandins, especially prostaglandin F2α in epithelial cells. MungBean Extract Drinks contain several nutrients including vitamin C, calcium, carbohydrates and flavonoids as anti-depressants and anti-inflammatory agent. Stretching is a relaxation technique that can helps relieve menstrual pain in the abdominal part by increasing the production of endorphins which function as neurotransmitters. To determine the effect of Mung Bean ExtractDrinks and Stretching on primary dysmenorrhea (primary menstrual pain) in adolescent girls stressed. This type of open-label non-randomized controlled trial used 87female adolescents who experienced primary menstrual pain with moderate and severe stress levels from two Islamic boarding schools in Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, which were divided into 3 groups, one group as the control and two groups as the experiment. The experiment of 29people with pre and post-test. Mung bean extract drinks were given 250ml/day, otherwise stretching was given 1x/day for 7days before menstruation. Control and experimental group was observed for 1 month. Measurement of menstrual pain scale using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) assessment sheet. Data analysis uses T-test. The mean primary menstrual pain in adolescents for MungBean Extract Drinks with moderate stress levels was 1.31±1.32 and the difference before and after mung bean extract drinks experience is significant at p=0.004 while at severe stress levels was 1.69±1.54 and the difference between before and after mung bean extract drinks experience is significant at p=0.001. The mean primary menstrual pain in adolescents for stretching experience with moderate stress levels was 2.50±1.93 and the difference before and after stretching experience is significant at p=0.008 while the severe stress level was 2.05±1.80 and the difference before and after stretching experience is significant at p≤0.001. The multivariate test with linear regression revealed that mung bean extract drinks contributed y= (-)138X1+4.897(p=0.001) and related stretching contributed y= (-)2.517X1+6.276(p=0.001). MungBean ExtractDrinks and Stretching will affect to the reduction of primary dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls both at moderate and severe stress levels

Abstract

Background: Inflammation of the pericorona due to lower third molar impaction (LTMI) is often diagnosed as pericoronitis. Expression of cyclooxigenase-2 (COX-2) and caspase-1 may be induced by lipopolysacharide (LPS) and cause pyroptosis with minimal inflammation. When LPS activates toll-like receptor (TLR-4), NOD-like receptors containing domain pyrin 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome will activate the release of pro-caspase-1 to caspase-1, followed by the secretion of interleukin (IL)-1β. IL-1β and IL-23 which induces CD4+ Tcells (Th17) to produce IL-17 as a pro-inflammation cytokine. Purpose: This study aimed to identify the respective roles of COX2, caspase-1 and IL-17 in pericoronitis inflammation of the pericorona due to LTMI. Methods: Frozen section samples were produced through LTMI pericorona tissue biopsy using material provided by the Dental and Oral Clinic at Muwardi Hospital, Surakarta. The paraffin block produced was subsequently cut using a clean microtome with the resulting thin slices being placed on an object glass coated with polylysine. A diagnosis of pericoronitis was subsequently made by a pathologist. Immunohistochemical staining for COX-2, caspase-1 and IL-17 was carried out by indirect tyramide signal amplification (TSA) method. Photos were obtained by means of 100X, 200X, 400X and 1000X objective lensed microscopes to qualitatively assess the above mentioned protein expressions. T-Test was conducted in order to establish the difference in expression between the control group and pericoronitis due to LTMI. Results: The presence of a brownish yellow color indicated the expression of COX-2, caspase-1 and IL-17 in pericorona epithelial cells which visible expression categorized as moderate (30-70%). The mean expression of COX-2, caspase-1 and IL-17 was categorized as mild and there was no significant difference between the expression of the three proteins. Conclusion: COX-2, caspase-1 and IL-17 play an important role in the phyroptosis signal of LTMI pericoronitis in cases of low inflammation.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk 1) mengembangkan modul IPA Terpadu berbasis Inkuiri Terbimbing disertai nilai Islam, 2) mengetahui kelayakan produk, dan 3) keefektifan produk ditinjau dari hasil belajar dan ketrerampilan proses sains. Produk ini dikembangkan untuk menunjang pembelajaran IPA untuk SMP/MTs kelas VII.Model yang digunakan sebagai dasar untuk mengembangkan modul IPA Terpadu adalah model pengembangan oleh Borg and Gall yang direduksi menjadi 9 tahap yang terdiri dari langkah-langkah sebagai berikut : 1) analisis kebutuhan, 2) perencanaan, 3) pengembangan produk, 4) uji lapangan awal, 5) revisi produk awal, 6) uji lapangan utama, 7) revisi produk utama, 8) uji lapangan operasional, 9) revisi produksi operasionalHasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa: 1) modul IPA terpadu berbasis inkuiri terbimbing disertai nilai Islam tema antasida berhasil dikembangkan. 2) kelayakan produk ditinjau dari aspek mateeri, kegrafikan, kebahasaan dan sintaks inkuiri terbimbing rata-rata memiliki kriteria sangat baik. 3) produk ini efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dilihat dari rerata nilai antara kelas pengguna produk lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol yaitu 62 dan 58. Abstract

Introduction. Managing dietary pattern, including snack schedule, is one of the most important factors in maintaining blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Black glutinous rice tape is one of the foods that contains bioactive nutrient and fiber beneficial to health. This study aimed to determine the effect of snack bars made from black glutinous rice tape on fasting blood glucose levels in T2DM patients. Methods. The study employed a quasi-experimental pre and post-test design with a control group which was conducted among T2DM patients undergoing treatment at Bhayangkara Tk. II Sartika Asih Hospital, Bandung. The study was conducted from October 2022 to January 2023 and involved a total of 22 subjects divided into two groups (treatment and control), selected through the accidental sampling method. The treatment group received a daily intake of 3 x 30 grams sticky rice tape snack bar for 7 days along with nutritional counseling, while the control group did not received the snack bar but received nutritional counseling. Fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels were measured both before and after treatment, then analyzed using a paired sample T-test. The difference in the treatment’s impact between the two groups was assessed using the Wilcoxon test. Results. Statistical analysis showed a reduction in the mean levels of FBG in the control group by 21.36 mg/dL (p=0.111) and in the treatment group by 61.46 mg/dL (p=0.021). There was an impact of consuming black glutinous rice tape snack bars on the reduction of FBG levels in DMT2 patients, with a difference in FBG reduction between the control and treatment groups of 40.10 mg/dL (p=0.018). Conclusion. Administering 3 x 30 grams of black sticky rice tape snack bars for 7 days was effective in reducing the FBG levels in T2DM patients.

Abstract

Sawi adalah salah satu sayuran penting dengan kandungan nutrisi tinggi yang populer di Indonesia. Budidaya sawi membutuhkan media tanam yang tepat untuk mendukung pertumbuhannya dalam waktu singkat. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian sekam bakar pada media tanam meningkatkan hasil panen sawi. Sekam bakar, khususnya dari sekam padi, memiliki sifat yang menguntungkan bagi pertumbuhan tanaman. Penggunaannya dalam campuran media tanam meningkatkan retensi air, struktur tanah, serta ketersediaan unsur hara. Dengan demikian, memanfaatkan sekam bakar dalam budidaya sawi dapat meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman dan memberikan solusi berkelanjutan dalam pertanian. Penelitian dilakukan di Kelurahan Air Kuti, Kota Lubuklinggau, dari Januari hingga Februari 2017. Bahan-bahan termasuk benih sawi, papan merek, sekam bakar, polybag, pupuk NPK, dan tanah Ultisol. Metode Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) non-faktorial digunakan dengan 6 level perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati termasuk tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, lebar daun, jumlah polong, berat basah tanaman, berat akar, dan indeks panen. Analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Perlakuan menggunakan sekam bakar berdampak signifikan pada pertumbuhan tanaman sawi. Sekam bakar sangat memengaruhi berat basah berangkasan, jumlah dan lebar daun, tetapi tidak signifikan pada tinggi tanaman, berat akar, dan indeks panen. Hasil terbaik terjadi pada perlakuan S4 dengan perbandingan 4:4, di mana tinggi tanaman 37,98 cm, jumlah daun 9,38 helai, lebar daun 14,08 cm, berat basah berangkasan 70,81 g, dan berat akar 3,00 g.

Abstract

Kelakai plants belong to the Polypodiaceae family and originate from Central Kalimantan. The increasing prevalence of diseases related to oxidative stress has led people to consume natural antioxidants derived from plants. Kelakai plants exhibit antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, and anti-hyperlipidemia activities. Based on these factors, researchers aim to examine the total flavonoid content and determine the antioxidant activity of ethanol extract from the stems and leaves of the kelakai plant (Stenochlaena palustris (Burm. F) Bedd). It is hoped that this study can be an important part of exploring antioxidant compounds obtained from natural materials around us. This study aims to determine the total flavonoid content and understand the antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of Kelakai stems and leaves (Stenochlaena palustris (Burm. F) Bedd). The total flavonoid content was tested using the UV-Vis spectrophotometer method with quercetin standard and expressed in ppm. Meanwhile, the antioxidant activity was determined using the DPPH method, with results expressed in Inhibition Concentration 50% (IC50). The results of the total flavonoid content of ethanol extract were 76.727±0.497 ppm, and the antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of kelakai stems and leaves (Stenochlaena palustris (Burm. Abstract

Red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) contains antioxidants, namely vitamin C, flavonoids, phenols, and betacyanins that can reduce or inhibit oxidative stress in the body. Excess body weight condition is associated with an increase in oxidative stress due to a decrease in antioxidants. This study was aimed to analyze the effects of red dragon fruit on the level of ROS (MDA) of overweight Sprague-Dawley rats. It used experimental analysis by using pre- and-posttest design with control group. A total sample of 30 male white Sprague-Dawley rats aged 8-12 weeks old with 150-200g of body weight were divided into 6 groups, namely: normal, negative control (KN), positive control (KP), red dragon fruit juice 3.5 g/200gBW (P1), overweight + dragon fruit juice 7 g/200gBW (P2), overweight + dragon fruit juice 10.5g/200gBW (P3) and were observed for 14 days. ROS levels were measured in the beginning and at the end of the intervention by using MDA markers with TBARs method. The results of MDA level measurements were 3.83 ± 0.13 in the KP group, 7.18 ± 0.27 in the P1 group, 5.30 ± 0.30 in the P2 group, and 4.35 ± 0.42 in the P3 group. The results of one-way ANOVA test showed a significant difference in MDA levels in all intervention groups compared to those of the normal and KN groups (p = 0.05). In conclusion, red dragon fruit intake can reduce ROS levels in overweight Sprague-Dawley rats.

Abstract

This research discusses the political recruitment process of the NasDem Party with a study of the nomination of celebrities by the NasDem Party in the 2019 legislative elections. The purpose of this study is to explain the factors behind the NasDem Party choosing to nominate many celebrity figures in the 2019 elections. This study used a qualitative method through descriptive analysis to explain the recruitment mechanism carried out by the NasDem Party in the process of nominating legislative candidates. The data collection technique used was through interviews as primary data and literature study as secondary data. The theoretical framework used in this study is the theory of political parties from Larry Diamond and Richard Gunter and the theory of political recruitment by Pippa Norris. The NasDem Party is the party that recruits and nominates the most celebrities in the 2019 legislative elections. The NasDem Party chooses to nominate celebrities based on several factors and is one of the NasDem Party strategies to raise party votes in the 2019 elections. celebrities in the 2019 elections, including: first, the popularity of celebrities. Second, there is a phenomenon of idol celebrities in several electoral districts. Third, the celebrity factor that is able to become a vote getter.Penelitian ini membahas proses rekrutmen politik Partai NasDem dengan studi pencalonan selebriti oleh Partai NasDem pada pemilu legislatif 2019. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan faktor-faktor di balik Partai NasDem memilih untuk mencalonkan banyak tokoh selebriti pada Pemilu 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui analisis deskriptif untuk menjelaskan mekanisme rekrutmen yang dilakukan oleh Partai NasDem dalam proses pencalonan calon legislatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah melalui wawancara sebagai data primer dan studi pustaka sebagai data sekunder. Kerangka teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori partai politik dari Larry Diamond dan Richard Gunter dan teori rekrutmen politik oleh Pippa Norris. Partai NasDem adalah partai yang merekrut dan mencalonkan selebriti terbanyak dalam pemilihan legislatif 2019. Partai NasDem memilih untuk mencalonkan selebriti berdasarkan beberapa faktor dan merupakan salah satu strategi Partai NasDem untuk mengumpulkan suara partai pada Pemilu 2019. Selebriti di Pemilu 2019, termasuk: pertama, popularitas selebriti. Kedua, ada fenomena selebriti idola di beberapa daerah pemilihan. Ketiga, faktor selebriti yang mampu menjadi vote getter.

Abstract

Molecular docking is an important computational method for drug design. It can be used to predict receptor binding interactions with ligans. In addition, phenol-derived compounds and Saponins are also reported to have various activities such as anti-hypertensive, anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptosis agents. The purpose of this study is to predict whether the Phenol and Saponin compounds are active as anti-inflammatory agents and also to ensure that the binding interactions are stable before and after the docking calculations. The protocol is carried out in accordance with the standards set by the LPPT-UGM Testing Laboratory. The tools, programs, and applications used in this study were Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 Processor, AMD Ryzen 5000 Series 5, AutoDock Tools (v1.5.6), Biovia Discovery Studio, AutodockVina, Swiss ADME, VegaZZ, Pubchem, and the and the pkCSM web server (http://biosig.unimelb.edu.au/pkcsm/). Trans-ADFH three-dimensional structure, as a test compound, and Prednisolone, as a standard compound, were downloaded from https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/. The phytochemical analysis of ADFH includes phenol and saponin. Structure of PlGF 3D (IRV6) and VEGF (4KZN). Identification of ligands and proteins prepared using Pubchem results of molecular docking between preeclampsia through examination of PlGF and VEGF with phenols and saponins Identification of protein ligands using Pubchem, i.e., PlGF (IRV6) with phenol produced 2 interactions and 2 amino acid residues, while saponins produced 2 interactions and 6 residues. pharmacokinetics and toxicity using Swiss ADME, i.e., phenol and saponins are non-mutagenic to bacteria; the maximum safe dose for humans is 0.54 log mg/kg/day; it does not cause toxicity to the heart; the estimated dose for animals is 2.471 mol/kg; it does not cause allergies; it does not cause liver damage; a dose of 0.288 logμ/L can inhibit the growth of 50% of the protozoa T. Pyformis. The content of phenols and saponins in Apis Dorsata forest honey has a high docking score from the original ligand. Molecular docking on phenols and saponins identified PlGF with scores of -2.85, -2.85, and -2.85 kcal/mol, while saponins have +2.84, +2.29, and +2.29 kcal/mol values, which are stated to be better results than the original ligands. This means that phenol has a role as a standard drug that can have an effect on lowering PlGF levels for people with preeclampsia. Molecular docking on VEGF identified phenol with scores of -2.88, -2.88, and -2.88 kcal/mol, and saponins have +1.36, +3.46, and +1.36 kcal/mol values, which are stated to have better results than the original ligands. This means that saponins have a role as a standard drug that can have an effect on increasing VEGF levels for people with preeclampsia.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Islam in Indonesia's politics and democracy, focusing on three key aspects: Islam's potential to influence social, economic, and political dynamics; the role of Islamic community organizations like Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama in supporting inclusive democracy; and the interpretation and orientation of these organizations post-reform towards democracy. Islamic community organizations serve as pillars of civil society and strategic forces in shaping a more just political order. The research uses a literature review method to identify, evaluate, and synthesize relevant literature to provide insights into the relationship between Islam and democracy in Indonesia. The findings show that Islamic politics address the failures of established ideologies like nationalism, socialism, and capitalism by leveraging values of social justice, brotherhood, and welfare. Post-reform, Islamic organizations like Muhammadiyah and NU have shown substantial contributions to strengthening inclusive democracy through tolerance, diversity, and political stability. However, the study also highlights the challenges posed by extremist groups that reject democracy and use violence as a means of struggle.
