Abstract

This study explores the perceptions of the community, with a specific focus on women, regarding their roles in environmental preservation in Cikeduk Village-Cirebon. The research employs a qualitative methodology, utilizing a phenomenological approach to delve deeply into the lived experiences and perceptions of women in this context. Data were collected through a combination of interviews, documentation, and direct observations within the village. To ensure the validity of the findings, the study implemented source and technique triangulation, while data analysis was conducted using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The study's findings revealed a dichotomy in perceptions concerning women's roles in environmental preservation. On one hand, positive perceptions highlight the belief that maintaining sanitation and greenery is not only a significant responsibility for ensuring community well-being and comfort but also provides economic benefits, particularly through activities like tree planting. On the other hand, negative perceptions are characterized by the belief that cleanliness is not a personal responsibility and is not a priority for many individuals. The study identified three key roles that women play in environmental management in Cikeduk: environmental education, reforestation efforts, and the management of domestic waste. These roles are crucial in shaping the village's approach to sustainability. Based on these findings, the study recommends enhancing environmental education from an early age to foster an environmentally conscious generation. It also suggests expanding women’s empowerment programs, particularly in environmental management, and addressing negative perceptions through targeted socialization efforts. These recommendations align with the ecofeminist perspective, which emphasizes the critical role of women as agents of change in environmental preservation

Abstract

The Pancasila Rahmatan lil Alamin Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5PPRA) represents a key initiative of the Merdeka Curriculum to foster students' competencies and character development through a project-based learning approach. This study explores the implementation of the P5PPRA program at MAN Grobogan Regency, focusing on students’ social construction of gender roles and inclusion, analyzed from the perspective of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI). The study also evaluates how the GESI framework supports gender equality and social inclusion within the madrasah setting. The study employed data collection techniques using a qualitative research design, including in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and direct observations. Research participants included students, teachers, and madrasah administrators from MAN 1 Grobogan and MAN 2 Grobogan. The findings reveal that the P5PPRA program provides equitable opportunities for student participation, reflecting a positive step toward inclusion. However, entrenched gender stereotypes continue to shape the division of roles in project groups. Male students predominantly assume technical or physical tasks, while female students are more often relegated to administrative responsibilities. This pattern highlights the persistent influence of societal gender norms on students' social construction. GESI implementation within the two madrasahs demonstrates significant progress in ensuring accessibility and participation for all students. Nonetheless, challenges remain in fostering an entirely equitable and inclusive environment, particularly in the balanced allocation of roles and responsibilities. To address this, future initiatives should incorporate targeted strategies to dismantle gender norms and enhance inclusive practices across all project activities

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to explore the relationship between Belis culture and the social prestige of education for the Manggarai community. The main focus of this research is to analyze how Belis culture can influence access to and motivation for education, especially for women, as well as its impact on social dynamics in the community. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects involved three main groups: teachers, students and parents, and community leaders. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation and focus group discussions (FGDs). The results show that the Belis culture, which is a dowry given in marriage, plays a significant role in building the social prestige of education, with highly educated women receiving greater rewards in the form of higher Belis values. On the other hand, while this culture provides incentives for women to pursue higher education, economic pressures are a major challenge for families who cannot afford the high Belis obligations, resulting in limited access to education for children, especially girls. This research suggests that the Belis culture be utilized as a driver of educational motivation, by integrating educational incentives for families committed to the quality of their children's education. In addition, to reduce social inequality, efforts to improve access to education through family economic empowerment need to be made.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum brings challenges for social studies teachers in adjusting learning. The meaning of the teacher's social construction is a research gap that can be studied in facing this challenge. This study examines the social construction of junior high school social studies teachers in Kudus Regency in understanding the Merdeka Curriculum using Peter L. Berger's Social Construction Theory. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with the data source obtained from Grade VII & VIII Social Studies Teachers, Principal, and Vice Principal for Curriculum at SMP NU Putri Nawa Kartika. Data collection techniques used in this research are interviews and documentation. The results showed that three stages of social construction shape the meaning of the Merdeka Curriculum. Externalization can be seen from the teacher's adaptation in understanding and implementing the curriculum. Objectivation appears through institutionalizing the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum into learning practices. Internalization shows deep meaning that develops gradually, forming teachers' professional beliefs and practices.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the moral values in Serat Wulangreh by Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwana IV and analyze its relevance as a moral foundation in character education for adolescents in Kampung Nelayan Bandengan. This research focuses on the phenomenon of deviant behavior among adolescents which indicates the weakness of internalizing character values that are contextual with the local culture. The methode used in this study is a qualitative case study approach, which combines in-depth interviews, participatory observation, focused group discussions (FGD), and analysis of the Serat Wulangreh tembang texts. The findings of the study show that Serat Wulangreh contains moral values such as diligence, discipline, humility (tawadhu’), self-control, moral vigilance, and honesty, which align with the character framework according to Lickona. These values play a crucial role in shaping adolescent behavior with a strong Javanese moral foundation. The conclusion of this study is that the integration of values from Serat Wulangreh into community-based character education can strengthen the moral foundation of adolescents in behaving well.
