Abstract

According to East Java health profile (2019), the number of neonatal tetanus is 10 cases because of inappropriate treatment. Thus, bacteria enter the body and prolong the umbilical cord separation time. WHO (2010) and Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia (2015) recommend umbilical cord care using an open dry method. This study attempts to identify the correlation of the open dry treatment to umbilical cord separation time according to literary results. Literature review was used to analyze the data from three online databases: PubMed, Google Scholar, and DOAJ using inclusion-exclusion criteria. The keywords were “Umbilical Dry Cord Care,”“Day of Release of the Umbilical Cord,” “PerawatanTali Pusat Kering Terbuka,” and “Lama PelepasanTali Pusat.” The analysis method was compared and contrast. Based on 16 articles, the results showed three categories of umbilical cord separation time by using the open dry method. Four articles indicated the fast category (< 5 days), other ten as normal (5-7 days), and the other two the slow category (> 7 days). The accurate method for the umbilical cord care is open dry because the separation time is the fastest. However, further research using primary data is needed.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition in which a child experiences developmental delays so that their height does not match their age, due to health problems during pregnancy, illness during infancy, and long-term lack of nutrition. One of the reasons for stunting is eating unbalanced, including exclusive breastfeeding as a baby. The impact of stunting besides growth, also causes minor illnesses, impaired brain development and intelligence, in the long term it can cause decreased mental capacity, decreased immune system so that it becomes weak easily, obesity, diabetes, stroke, heart and blood vessel disease, and old age disability. The aim of this study was to analyze the history of exclusive breastfeeding for the incidence of stunting. The research design was a quantitative correlation retrospective cohort approach, a population of 100 people with a sample of 50 people using the technique of simple random sampling. The study used Microtoice to measure the child's height was confirmed in table Z-Score and interview sheets for exclusive breastfeeding data. Analysis using Fisher Exact showed that the calculated P value (0.00) < error rate (0.1) had a relationship between a history of exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting. Based on this research, further information was needed on how to prevent stunting regarding the importance of clean and healthy life, especially for family members who smoke, because smoking had a negative impact on stunted toddler growth hormones

Abstract

Antenatal care (ANC) services provided according to standards play a crucial role in maintaining maternal and fetal health while simultaneously increasing patient satisfaction. The decline in coverage of K1 and K4 services at the Silir Community Health Center in Kediri Regency emphasizes the importance of evaluating the quality of antenatal care (ANC) services. This study aims to examine the relationship between maternal satisfaction levels and the implementation of ANC standards. This cross-sectional study, using a quantitative analytical approach, involved 45 pregnant women selected using a simple random sampling method. Data were collected through a questionnaire assessing the implementation of ANC standards and patient satisfaction based on the five Servqual dimensions (tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy). Spearman's test results showed a significant correlation between maternal satisfaction and the implementation of ANC guidelines, according to the Rho test, with a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Most respondents received standard ANC services, although some still complained about long waiting times and lack of communication from health workers. The conclusion of this study confirms that implementing ANC according to procedures has a positive correlation with maternal satisfaction.

Abstract

Failure to thrive among toddlers results in stunting. One of the contributing factors is not fulfilling nutritional needs. Toddlers prefer to eat snack food with low nutritional content and the sugar content makes children feel full, reducing the portion of food in the main meal schedule that contains balanced nutritional value. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the frequency of consuming snack food and the incidence of stunting. The method in this study used observations with a cross-sectional design. The Population was 232 people, with a sample of 70 mothers of stunted toddlers selected through the Simple Random Sampling technique. The instrument in this study used a questionnaire and was analyzed with the Spearman Rank test with the results (ρ = 0,000 < 0.05) between the frequency of consuming snack food and the incidence of stunting. This study showed a relationship between the frequency of consuming snack food and the incidence of stunting toddlers who consume snack food too often will cause stunting in toddlers. Based on the results, it is recommended that snack foods be given two hours before main meals to help address this issue.
