Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of carrot extract on the phagocyte activity of Vibrio alginolyticus in white snapper. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used respectively as follows, treatment A: 0 µl extract/individu, B: 100 µl extract/individu, C: 150 μl extract/individu, and D: 200 μl extract/individu. The average value of phagocytic activity tended to increase, namely treatment A 8.67%; treatment B 9.33%; treatment C 11.00%; and treatment D 14.00%. Carrot extract can increase phagocytic activity of white snapper. An effective dose that can increase the immune response of white snapper was 200 µl extract/individu of fish.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of vitamin C enrichment on fresh trash feed on the growth of Asian seabass (L. calcarifer) and their optimal dosage. The study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications for each treatment. The treatment given was a dose of vitamin C 3.5 g / kg of fresh trash feed (A); dose of vitamin C 4 g / kg fresh trash feed (B); dose of vitamin C 4.5 g / kg fresh trash feed (C); and fresh trash feed without vitamins (D). Enrichment of vitamin C in fresh trash feed significantly affected the absolute growth of Asian seabass. Treatment A, 17,60; treatment B, 19.79; treatment C, 17.11; and treatment D 13.32 g. Enrichment of vitamin C in fresh trash feed also significantly affected the specific growth of Asian seabass. Treatment A, 2.41%; treatment B, 2.60%; treatment C, 2.37%; and treatment D 2.04%. Enrichment of vitamin C in fresh trash feed did not significantly affect the survival of Asian seabass. Treatment A, 42.5%; treatment B, 47.5%; treatment C, 45%; and 40% D treatment

Abstract

Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed is one of the main commodities of aquaculture which is economically important and has been cultivated commercially. In the Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed cultivation system, the attack of ice-ice is a major obstacle because it can harm the cultivation business. The spread of the disease can occur vertically and horizontally. This study aimed to observe the horizontal transmission rate of ice-ice disease in cultivation activities of K. alvarezii in Maba Waters, East Halmahera Regency. The results showed that the attack of ice-ice caused a decrease in growth and experienced death. The presence of this disease in seaweed cultivation can result in a decrease in seaweed production. This is a major problem faced by K. alvarezii seaweed cultivation managers and requires serious handling with proper management

Abstract

The problem of pollution that occurs in the aquatic environment is getting out of control and causes the degradation of fishery resources which are important for humans. One of the pollutants from industrial activities is heavy metal. There are various kinds of heavy metals, mercury (Hg) is the most dangerous heavy metal. Mercury (Hg) enters directly into the waters through rainwater and leaching the soil and river flows which are then absorbed and metabolized by microorganisms. Mercury (Hg) is difficult to degrade from the body, because mercury (Hg) is actively involved in the food chain. Microorganisms feed molluscs, crustaceans and fish which are a source of protein for humans. Mercury (Hg) toxicity in fish can result in a stress response in fish which results in impaired growth, immune system, and changes in tissue structure. Abstract

The development and progress in the mining industry has created an opportunity for the concentration of heavy metals to increase uncontrolled in waters and lead to degradation of fishery resources. Heavy metals are one of the pollutants from industrial activities that enter directly into the waters through rainwater and soil washing and river flows which are then absorbed and metabolized by microorganisms. Abstract

Kabupaten Pulau Taliabu merupakan wilayah prioritas pengembangan budidaya laut. Salah satu pulau di Kabupaten Pulau Taliabu yang menjadi prioritas pengembangan budidaya laut adalah Pulau Limbo. Budidaya rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii merupakan aktivitas dominan budidaya laut di Pulau Limbo. Permintaaan akan ketersediaan Kappaphycus alvarezii sangat tinggi karena jenis rumput laut ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai penghasil karaginan. Kandungan karaginan pada rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii adalah jenis kappa-karaginan. Kandungan karaginan rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii sangat dipengerahui oleh parameter lingkungan perairan salah satunya kedalaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kedalaman perairan dengan kandungan kappa-karaginan rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii yang dibudidayakan di perairan Pulau Limbo. Kondisi parameter lingkungan menunjukan kedalaman perairan sesuai dengan pengamatan yang diamati, yaitu 5 meter, 10 meter dan 15 meter. Kecerahan perairan 3 - 8 meter. Suhu perairan 29 - 30℃. Salinitas 31 – 36 ppt. Derajat keasaman (pH) 7,1 - 9,1. Oksigen terlarut 4,2 – 5,4 mg/l. Nitrat 0,005 – 0,155 mg/l. Fosfat < 0,005. Kecepatan arus 0,16 – 0,19 m/s. Subtrat dasar pasir berlumpur, pasir berkarang, pasir berbatu. Hasil analisa menunjukan interaksi antara kedalaman dengan kandungan kappa-kararagian rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii tidak menunjukan pengaruh yang signifikan.

Abstract

Rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii merupakan salah satu komoditas utama budidaya perikanan yang bernilai ekonomis penting.  dan telah dibudidayakan secara komersial. Budidaya Kappaphycus alvarezii telah berkembang sangat pesat karena merupakan sumber penghasil karaginan. Kabupaten Pulau Taliabu merupakan Kabupaten yang menjadi prioritas pengembangan budidaya rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii terutama di pulau Limbo. Kondisi perairan budidaya rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii penting diketahui, karena sangat menentukan keberhasilan budidaya rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi tingkat kesesuaian lahan budidaya rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii di Pulau Limbo, Kabupaten Pulau Taliabu, Maluku Utara. Dalam penelitian ini setiap parameter dibagi dalam tiga kelas yaitu sesuai (S1), cukup sesuai (S2) dan tidak sesuai (N). Parameter kualitas air yang diamati adalah suhu, kecerahan, kedalaman, kecepatan arus, salinitas, pH, oksigen terlarut, nitrat dan fosfat. Hasil analisis kesesuaian perairan pada lokasi penelitian menunjukan bahwa lokasi budidaya rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii pada stasiun 1 cukup sesuai, sementara stasiun 2, stasiun 3, stasiun 4 serta stasiun 5 sangat sesuai.

Abstract

Tuberkulosis (TB) is an infectious disease which is caused by tuberculosis mycobacterium bactery which can attack some various organs, especially the lungs. Based on data of Pekanbaru health office in 2017. The rejosari healthy center in Pekanbaru city was the healthy center which ranked the first of tuberculosis case, and also the highest numberof pulmonary TB cases at 155 cases. The result of the initial survey research around the working area of Rejosary healthy center in Pekanbaru city, the physical condition of society’s home environments in the working area of Rejosari Public healthy center in Pekanbaru City were mostly inadequate, where the researcher saw that moost of the houses had buildings which had not been permanent and the distance between each house was close enough. The purpose of this research was to determine the reletionship of economic status and physical condition of the reletionship of economic status and physical condition of the society’s home environment with the incident of pulmonary TB disease in the rejosari areal healthy center in Pekanbaru. The method of this research is quantitative researching with a sectional cross design. The samples which were taken by researching with a sectional cross design. The samples which were taken by the researcher was a random sampling by taking samples from the society population based on certain criteria The sample which was as many as 78 respondents. The data collection tool is a questionnaire. Data analysis was done by univariate by using the chis square test with a limit of 95% significance level. The results founded that there was a significant relationship between economic status (p value 0,001) and home environments which includes ventilation (p value 0,011), lighting (p value 0,007), wall (p value 0,011), occupancy (p value 0,026), and humidity (p value 0,007).Keywords: Tuberculosi, economic status, physical condition of the home environment

Abstract

The yellowfin tuna hand line fishing business in Jambula Village, Ternate City is an activity that aims to exploit yellowfin tuna fish resources with the aim of obtaining continuous profits, therefore it is necessary to carry out scientific studies related to evaluating the feasibility of the yellowfin tuna long-line fishing business in Jambula City Village. Ternate. The aim of this research is to analyze the feasibility of the yellowfin tuna hand-line fishing business in Jambula Village, Ternate City. The research was carried out in Jambula Village, Ternate City from June to November 2003. The research method used was a survey method. Data on investment costs, fixed and variable operations, fish prices, and the average number of catches per trip were obtained through interviews with owners of yellowfin tuna hand-line fishing businesses because generally the fishermen who catch them are the business owners. Considering that the number of yellowfin tuna hand-line fishermen in Jambula Subdistrict is 30, a sample of 6 (20%) fishermen respondents was taken as a representative of yellowfin tuna hand-line fishermen in that sub-district.The results of the research show that the yellowfin tuna ulura fishing business in Jambula Village, Ternate City is worth continuing and developing, with the resulting economic feasibility indicator being an average profit of IDR. 45,208,333.33/year, average net present value Rp. 254,476,531.14, average value of net benefit cost ratio 3.83, average value of internal rate of return 77.83%, average value of break event point Rp. 205,899,999.94, and the average payback period value is 1.66 years.
