Abstract

Anemia remains a global public health problem and continues to pose a significant burden in many developing countries. Several national and regional studies have reported that the prevalence of anemia among adolescent girls ranges from 14% to 50%, depending on location and survey methods, with many studies showing rates exceeding 30% in certain populations. Female students (santriwati) living in Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) are particularly vulnerable to anemia. Common contributing factors include inadequate iron intake, irregular communal eating practices, limited nutritional knowledge, excessive menstrual bleeding, and restricted access to health services. The implementation of the community engagement program consisted of three main stages: (1) Socialization and initial hemoglobin (Hb) screening to obtain a preliminary overview of anemia status; (2) Health education and interactive discussions delivered through lectures, question-and-answer sessions, and educational video presentations; and (3) Evaluation and post-activity monitoring through joint reflections involving both the boarding school administrators and the participants. The combination of Hb screening, interactive counseling sessions, leaflet-based educational media, and institutional support from the boarding schools proved effective in creating a conducive environment for promoting healthy behaviors. However, challenges such as limited availability of Hb testing equipment and negative perceptions toward iron supplementation still need to be addressed through continuous approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.

The Gumuling Well Tourism Site is part of the historical site of the Islamic Mataram kingdom in Yogyakarta which contains the significance of the development of the dynamics of the socio-cultural life of the people in the Pleret region, Bantul. Therefore, the Sumur Gumiling site deserves to be studied to understand the significance of the site to art, social, cultural and community life. This research uses the value function theory developed by Finnegan. Meanwhile, the method of collecting data is through field studies with observation, observation, recording, recording, and in-depth interviews. The data analysis method was adopted by conducting data transcription, refinement, and analyzing to reach a conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the Sumur Gumiling site has the value of an oral tradition that functions to regulate life in the area around the site. Myths and oral traditions are sources of conventional law that are capable of regulating society to comply with strategic arrangements for environmental conservation. In addition, the existence of the site is used as a sign of the preservation of art and oral traditions in the community.

The average change in the attitude of pregnant women after being given education using website media (Δ=10.20) is more effective (p=0.025) than using MCH book media (Δ=7.4). The breastfeeding practice score of mothers after being educated using the website media (score=9.6) was more effective (p= 0.017) than using the  MCH book media (score=8.5). Abstract

Puskesmas in Sidoarjo Regency do not yet have facilities for monitoring LBW in real time via android either by health workers at the health centre or the patient's family. Puskesmas Taman serves communities spread across several villages with a coverage area spread across several villages. This is an obstacle for families to get access to monitor the patient's progress, because the patient is in the NICU or ICU room. Another thing is that there is no training for users in the use of telemedicine-based Baby Incubator equipment. The role of users and families of patients is very important to keep the equipment in good condition. However, operating trainings based on new technology for users have never been conducted. Efforts to solve the above problems are to carry out counselling and assistance in the use of baby incubator equipment to users including nurses, midwives and other non-health worker users, so as to increase the knowledge of officers or users which in turn will have an impact on increasing the productivity of officers or users and improving the quality of service at the health centre. The purpose of this Community Service is to increase the role and participation of Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya in improving the degree of public health in the Puskesmas Taman area, Sidoarjo Regency. The results of community service through the application of telemedicine-based Baby Incubator at Puskesmas Taman are increased knowledge and skills regarding telemedicine-based baby incubator equipment. This will improve health services, especially for babies who need intensive care. The implementation of this technology provides significant benefits, including increased accessibility of health services, speed of response to patient health conditions, family involvement in care, and efficient use of resources. Assistance to Puskesmas personnel and patient families in the form of training, monitoring and evaluation of the use of appropriate technology in the form of Telemedicine-based baby incubator utilization.
