Abstract

The background to this Community Service is the difficulty of teachers in designing and implementing assessments, Authentic Assessments and carrying out learning evaluations well. Therefore, a form of socialization and workshops regarding the development of authentic evaluation and assessment is needed to provide skills to teachers in creating science learning tools that are effective in developing authentic assessments in accordance with the 2013 curriculum. The service method is carried out through pre-surveys, literature review, outreach, and workshops. The strategic target audience for this authentic assessment preparation training is science teachers at Public Junior High School No. 11 Bengkulu City (SMP Negeri 11 Bengkulu City). The location for the socialization and workshop is the Laboratory of SMP Negeri 11 Bengkulu City. The results of community service in the form of training and preparation of authentic assessments in accordance with the 2013 curriculum for science teachers at Public SMP No 11 Bengkulu City which have been implemented (1) can improve teachers' abilities to design authentic assessments in accordance with the 2013 curriculum so that teachers can improve their teaching abilities professionally. (2) Teachers can create effective science learning tools and are able to develop authentic assessments that must be in accordance with what has been outlined in Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 23 of 2016 so that teachers can implement the tools in the classroom efficiently.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide training to teachers at SD Negeri 8 Bengkulu City in utilizing the CRT approach to implement learning that liberates students. The training activity was carried out on April 27 2024 at SD Negeri 8 Bengkulu City and was attended by 13 teachers. Training methods are carried out in the form of lectures, discussions and practice. In the first session, participants were provided with an understanding of the concept of CRT and the importance of integrating culture in learning. The second session discussed identifying students' cultural backgrounds and learning strategies that are appropriate to the CRT approach. The final session focused on classroom management from a CRT perspective, evaluation, and collaboration with parents and the community. The training activity was carried out at SDN 8 Bengkulu City, which was attended by 13 teachers. Through this training, it is hoped that teachers can develop the ability to create a learning environment that is culturally responsive, respects diversity, and liberates students in the learning process. Activities are carried out using training patterns. After conducting training, teachers were able to develop teaching modules using the CRT approach. From this training activity it can be concluded that the training has an impact on the ability of teachers to develop teaching modules using the CRT approach.

Abstract

Background of Study: The utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in physics learning in Indonesia is still relatively new and requires further implementation regarding its effectiveness, so that it becomes a challenge in itself, especially in understanding abstract concepts and materials.Aims and scope of paper: The Chatbots and AI Visualizations training at SMAN 6 Central Bengkulu aims to improve students' skills and knowledge in utilizing modern technology to deepen their understanding of physics concepts.Methods: This study used a quantitative approach through pre-test and post-test of 41 students in grades X and XI, with instruments in the form of multiple-choice questions to measure basic understanding of AI, ability to write prompts, understanding and visualization skills on physics concepts, and understanding the ethics of using AI in learning activities.Results: The results showed high enthusiasm and interest in AI-based learning, with all respondents expressing interest in this technology. After the training, there were improvements in the understanding of physics concepts through AI, the ability to write prompts, understanding and visualization skills using AI, and ethical knowledge in the use of AI in learning.Conclusion: The findings indicate that the integration of AI in physics learning not only increases the effectiveness and interactivity of the learning process, but also equips students with relevant 21st century competencies in the digital era.
