Abstract

A workplace accident is an unwanted and often unforeseen event that can result in lost time from work, property damage, or death. Work accidents, work fatigue, and worker behavior are some of the problems that are often faced by informal sector workers. The goal of this research was to look into the factors that impact work accidents among women in Kupang's informal sector. An observational study with a cross-sectional design was used in this investigation. From April to July 2019, this research was conducted in Kupang City. Participants in this study were 548 women who worked in the informal sector. The research sample consisted of 140 women from the informal sector who were selected using a basic random selection approach. Interviews were used to obtain data, which was then analyzed bivariately using a basic linear regression test. Workload was discovered to be a factor in the study's findings (0.000) and work fatigue (0.000) affected work accidents, while work behavior (0.076) did not affect work accidents in female workers. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) procedures and rules in the workplace, counseling regarding the application of OHS with workers, as well as sanctions against the application of OHS in the workplace to workers need to be implemented to reduce workplace accidents.

Ionizing radiation has the potential to cause ionization in the body, so it can cause harm to workers. One of the efforts to minimize the risk of radiation exposure is to conduct regular health checks. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to identify the effects of radiation exposure, especially ionizing radiation received during work on the number of leukocytes of workers METHOD : The type of this research is observational analytic with cross sectional approach. Respondents in this study were 20 workers at radiology installations in 3 hospitals in Kupang who met the inclusion criteria specified. The independent variable (X) in this study is the dose of radiation exposure in units of milisieverts (mSv), while the dependent variable (Y) is the number of workers' blood leukocytes.. RESULT : The results showed that there was a significant effect of radiation exposure on the number of leukocytes of workers in radiology installations according to the equation Y = 3.959-3.989X with p-value 0.001 and R2 = 0.455 CONCLUSION : Exposure to ionizing radiation received by workers has an impact of 45.5% on a decrease in the number of leukocytes by 0.03 , every 1 unit dose increase Keywords: Radiation exposure doses, radiology installations, leukocytes, radiation workers, ionizing radiation

Abstract

Abstract. Corona Virus Diseases 19 or COVID-19 is a global pandemic that has been established by WHO since March 11 2020. WHO data shows that globally, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of January 24, 2022, were 340,543,962 cases with a total of 5,570 deaths. 163. Vaccination is one of the steps taken by the government to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Vaccination is also believed to be able to reduce the severe symptoms that will be experienced by sufferers who have contracted COVID-19. As vaccination activities continue, health protocols must also be implemented. Vaccination basically does not determine someone will automatically be free from transmission of COVID-19. The purpose of this study was to describe knowledge, attitudes, and actions regarding the implementation of health protocols after COVID-19 vaccination for workers at the Kupang City sub-district office. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The population in this study was 113. The sample size was 89 workers. The sampling technique uses cluster sampling. The results showed that 94.4% of respondents had good knowledge, 59.6% of respondents had good attitudes, and 41.6% of respondents had good actions. The application of health protocols must still be carried out even though vaccinations have been carried out, because vaccination will not always make someone free from COVID-19 but will help prevent it.
