Abstract

Work stress is one of the factors that influence the decline in performance of healthcare workers. Stress coping, as an adaptation mechanism to work pressure, plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of healthcare services, particularly in remote areas such as the Seba Community Health Center in Sabu Raijua Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 50 healthcare workers selected by simple random sampling from a population of 101. Data were collected using a stress coping and performance questionnaire, then analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of 0.05. Most respondents used emotion-focused coping strategies (58%), while the remainder used problem-focused coping (42%). Healthcare workers' performance was generally in the fair (56%) and good (44%) categories. Statistical test results showed a significant relationship between stress coping and performance (p= 0.004). The findings indicate that healthcare workers who use problem- focused coping tend to have better performance. Active and solution-oriented coping strategies support work effectiveness amidst work pressure, compared to strategies that only focus on emotional control.

Abstract

This qualitative study aimed to identify Job Satisfaction Study of Contract Teachers at GMIT Kuanino 01 Elementary School 01 based on Gilmer’s key aspects. Four participants were strategically selected via purposive and snowball sampling, and the essential data were collected through in-depth interviews. Analysis, utilizing thematic techniques adapted from Bungin (2012), reveals a significant divergence in satisfaction levels. The highest satisfaction is found in the interpersonal and self-development dimensions, supported by a robust synergy between teacher initiative and openly supportive leadership. However, overall satisfaction is significantly constrained by acute dissatisfaction regarding the Compensation/Salary Aspect (perceived as disproportionate) and the Physical Working Conditions Aspect (deemed critical due to infrastructure safety risks). Consequently, the supportive psychological work climate and the Financial Adaptive Satisfaction mechanism serve as essential compensatory factors that sustain job satisfaction despite inadequate institutional material guarantees.

Abstract

Low back pain is one of the most common complaints in various types of work, including among stevedores at Ferry Bolok port. This condition may occur when workers perform activities with non-ergonomick postures. This study aims the relationship between work posture and low back pain complaints among stevedores at Ferry Bolok port. This research used an anlytic survey with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique was total sampling, involving 42 stevedores. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis to describe the characteristics of each variable and to asses the relationship between the independent and dependent variables. The chi-square test was used to measure the relationship. The results showed that low back pain complaints were mostly experienced by respondents aged 50-60 years (59,5%), with a working period of ≥ 5 years (52,4%). In terms of lifting posture, 24 respondents (57,1%) had a lifting indeks (LI) > 1.0, and 6 respondents (14,3%) had an LI > 3.0. the study also revealed thet there was no significant relationship between pushing posture and low back pain complaints. It is recommended that stevedores pay more attention to their working posture, particularly in lifting activities, by maintaining a relaxed position and avoiding lifting loads that exceed their muscular capacity or that requaire moving objects over long distances.

Abstract

Maternal and child health issues remain a significant challenge in rural areas, primarily due to the lack of knowledge about Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS). This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and awareness of housewives in Tetaf Village, South Central Timor Regency, regarding the importance of implementing PHBS in daily life. The method used was interactive health education combining participatory lectures and group discussions, evaluated through pre-test and post-test instruments. The activity was held on June 5, 2025, at the Posyandu of the Tetaf Village Office and involved 20 housewives as participants. The materials were delivered using contextual and easy-to-understand visual aids adapted to local conditions. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' knowledge. The average pre-test score was 59, which increased to 95 on the post-test. In addition to this cognitive gain, participants also demonstrated high enthusiasm, as seen in their active involvement in the discussion sessions and their expressed commitment to adopting PHBS practices at home. The interactive approach enabled effective two-way communication between facilitators and participants, creating a more meaningful learning experience. These findings indicate that interactive and context-sensitive community-based health education is highly effective in enhancing health literacy, particularly among housewives. It is expected that this initiative can serve as a sustainable educational model for similar rural areas to support broader and more equitable health promotion efforts across Indonesia.
