Abstract

Traction Energy Asia 2020 reported that 3 million kilolitres of WCO were collected in Indonesia in 2019, 1.6 million kilolitres from urban households. WCO poses risks due to common reuse or disposal. Repurposing for MES surfactant is vital. Hence, this study aims to produce an MES surfactant from WCO feedstock using NaHSO3 as a microwave-assisted reactant by observing the influence of variables such as reactant mole ratio, catalyst concentration, sulfonation reaction time, and microwave power. The adsorption method involves vacuum filtration of WCO to remove impurities, mixing with activated carbon, and settling before a second filtration. Transesterification transforms WCO into methyl ester through mixing with methoxide solution with a molar ratio of methanol to WCO of 1:9 and a 1 wet% NaOH catalyst based on WCO, followed by washing and drying. Sulfonation involves reacting methyl ester with NaHSO3 (1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4) and CaO catalyst (1%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5%). The reaction occurs in a microwave at power variations of 300, 450, 600, and 750 Watts, as well as with variations in time of 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 minutes. After that, it ends with purifying and neutralizing to produce MES. The optimal conditions for MES production are a 1:2 molar ratio of reactants, 1.5% CaO catalyst concentration, 20 minutes, and 450 W, yielding 48.06%. MES characteristics: pale yellow color, density of 0.859 g/cm3, viscosity of 1.780 cSt, and surface tension of 32.62 dyne/cm. FTIR analysis confirms sulfonic acid groups at 1195.27 cm−1 and 1169.1 cm−1 wavelengths.

Abstract

This article aims to find out the accountability of zakat management done by the community leaders or Kiai who do not have documentation in funding and distribution. This study uses the case study approach, one of approaches in qualitative research, which uses interview and observation as the instruments of data collection. The result reveals that accountability, accounting, and functional perspectives have been fulfilled in the zakat management by Kiai. However, two of five characteristics of the accountability system perspective cannot be fulfilled by Kiai as âmil al-zakât, those are the written data presentation and the data publication.  In other words, internally what Kiai does in the zakat management is very accountable. This is because of his science integrity and spirituality. In terms of external accountability loaded with document and neat presentation of data, Kiai somehow cannot fulfill it. This is because the period of management of zakat al-fitr is very short (only a few hours) and the target of zakat distribution is real and known.

Abstract

The Sorbitol Powder Plant (SPP) Department at PT Sorini Towa Berlian Corporindo is a manufacturer of Sorbitol powder using Sorbitol LTS (Low Total Sugar) raw material produced by the Sorbitol Liquid Plant (SLP) Department. SPP faces significant issues regarding the reject product rate, especially at the Pulse Air Collector (PAC) reject product outlet. Currently, the rejected products are only remelted and returned to SLP for reprocessing due to their high contamination levels, as confirmed by quality testing results. This research aims to find a solution to utilize the rejected products from PAC 18 and PAC 26 as raw materials. The methods applied in this research are Filtration and Agitation. The research results indicate that product contamination can be minimized. The findings from the research are then implemented in a project to reduce raw material consumption and improve production efficiency in the SPP department.

Abstract

The Bangkalan Infaq Management Institute is one of the institutions that has managed to collect ZIS funds and distribute them to mustahiq and programs. This can happen because the operational management implemented by the institution is running well so that the distribution of funds and the implementation of programs are obtained optimally. This research uses qualitative methods and case study methods. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with management and related staff as well as through analysis of documents and 2 financial reports of the Bangkalan Infaq Management Institute. The results of this study indicate that: 1) Planning in operational management implemented by LMI Bangkalan is very good, one of which is: (a) long-term strategic program plans; (b) Design goals and objectives; (c) Building a broadcast fund-based collection scenario. 2) In implementing the management of fundraising by the Bangkalan Infaq Management Institute (LMI), two methods are used, namely the method of direct fundraising through outreach, publishing magazines, and offering programs to partners in collaboration with institutions. While the indirect fundraising method is carried out using various social media and the use of social media. 3) The Bangkalan Infaq Management Institute (LMI) controls 3 things: (a) Development program; (b) fund development; (c) Coordinating the constraints faced both internally and externally to the institution.

Abstract

Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) is a debt scheme with a low interest rate provided to small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that require additional capital and credit for business development. Bank BRI Kamal Unit, as one of the KUR distributors, has successfully implemented this program with a value of 5.5 billion rupiah in 2022. However, from a sharia perspective and based on the opinions of scholars, whether the KUR program with an interest component that is forbidden in Islam can be said to be usury or can be said to be halal if someone is forced to do so, remains to be seen. So the purpose of this research aims to analyze the law of KUR interest through the views of scholars who state that it is haram, halal, or even syubhat in terms of the maqashid sharia perspective. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, where attention is paid to current issues during the research. Through descriptive qualitative research, researchers try to describe events and events in focus without special treatment. The last stage in data analysis is drawing conclusions and verification. As a result, it is known that the view of scholars who allow KUR loans is more in line with Maqasid Sharia, namely the preservation of life (hifz al-nafs) and property (hifz al-mal), compared to its prohibition, both of which are placed at the Dharuriyyat level or at least Hajiyyat. Abstract

Porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus) is one of the local annual plants that contain high levels of oxalate. Oxalates are undesirable compounds in porang flour, and their levels must be removed or reduced to obtain high quality porang flour as a food ingredient. In this research, the extraction of oxalate acid was conducted using microwave-assisted solvent extraction and mechanical separation methods. This study aims to analysis the parameters that influence the extraction of oxalate acid using microwave-assisted solvent extraction such as the effect of microwave power, extraction time, feed-to-solvent ratio (F/S) and material size. The mechanical separation process will be studied the effect of material size for extraction of oxalate acid. The optimum yield obtained for oxalate acid extraction with microwave-assisted solvent extraction was microwave power of 600 W, extraction time of 30 min, feed-to-solvent ratio of 0.05 g/mL and porang size of 100 mesh obtained by oxalate acid yield of 24.78%. Porang size of 100 mesh was the optimum yield obtained for extraction of oxalate acid using mechanical separation method. The result of physical properties test using SEM-EDX and FTIR shows that extraction of oxalate acid from porang using microwave extraction method could produce oxalic acid which has good quality. In addition, extraction using microwave offers an environment-friendly extraction method, which can accelerate and increase the oxalate acid extraction yield.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to determine the view of fiqh bi'ah on the excavation of the High Hill in Jaddih village. Method: This study uses a qualitative method that extracts data using interviews and documentation. Results: The results of this study indicate that the excavation of the limestone hill in Jaddih village is not in line with the basic principles of environmental preservation in the study of Fiqh bi'ah. The damage and pollution caused by the excavation of this limestone hill include damage to roads, changes in air quality, changes in landscape roads, changes in air quality, landscape changes, and several other negative impacts. Limitation: All these negative impacts are indeed small in scale, considering that the excavation of this limestone hill is included in the classification of class C excavation mining activities and does not have a significant impact on the sustainability of the area. However, continuous excavation remains a concern for many parties to anticipate things. be a concern for many parties to anticipate undesirable things, especially to preserve this nature. The preservation of this nature is fardhu kifayah. Contribution: The results of this study will make a scientific contribute to similar studies and enrich the intellectual treasures of digging mountains or hills that are commonly performed in Madura.

Abstract

Keberadaan dana tabarru' dalam asuransi syariah merupakan salah satu perbedaan utama antara asuransi syariah dan asuransi konvensional. Dana yang diperuntukkan untuk hibah atau bantuan timbal balik dikenal sebagai dana tabarru'. Artikel ini melihat pengelolaan dana tabarru' dan apakah sudah sesuai dengan Fatwa Dewan Syariah Nasional Majelis Ulama Indonesia nomor 53/DSNMUI/III/2006 tentang akad tabarru'. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara dan dokumentasi dengan menggunakan metodologi kualitatif deskriptif. PT Asuransi BUMIDA Syariah Surabaya menjadi subjek penelitian. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa PT. Asuransi BUMIDA Syariah Surabaya telah memenuhi syarat-syarat perjanjian. Tiga jenis pengelolaan dana yaitu dana peserta, dana perusahaan, dan dana tabarru'. Tujuan dari dana tabarru' adalah untuk membantu anggota yang mengalami musibah; pembayaran klaim dipotong langsung dari pos dana tabarru', yang dipisahkan dari dana lainnya. Dana tabarru' hanya dapat digunakan jika ada klaim yang diajukan, dan tidak dapat diambil tanpa adanya klaim. Pengelolaan dana tabarru' dilakukan dengan menginvestasikannya pada produk-produk keuangan yang sesuai dengan prinsip syariah dan mengkreditkan kembali keuntungan investasi ke dalam rekening tabarru' peserta. PT. Asuransi BUMIDA Syariah Surabaya mengelola dana tabarru' sesuai dengan pedoman syariah yang telah diakui. Abstrak dituliskan dalam bahasa Indonesia yang memuat uraian singkat mengenai permasalahan dan tujuan penelitian, metode yang digunakan, dan hasil penelitian.

Abstract

This study examines the management of sharia financing at BMT UGT Nusantara Capem Kamal which faces various problems and challenges. In addition, this study ensures that the BMT UGT Nusantara Capem Kamal institution complies with sharia law in managing its sharia financing. This study applies a descriptive method that is qualitative. This study collects primary data through observation, interviews, and documentation with the Leader of BMT UGT Nusantara Capem Kamal as the key informant. Through literature analysis from various related sources, this study also collects relevant secondary data. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the management of sharia financing at BMT UGT Nusantara Capem Kamal is in accordance with sharia, effective, efficient, and responsive to the needs and abilities of members and the community, and able to overcome financing risks fairly and wisely. The sharia financial institution BMT UGT Nusantara Capem Kamal, manages sharia financing well, efficiently, and in accordance with sharia. BMT UGT Nusantara Capem Kamal can overcome financing problems and adjust financing products to the needs and abilities of members and the community.

Abstract

Perkembangan permintaan konsumen akan zat warna mendorong berbagai industri menghasilkan varian zat pewarna. Hanya saja, informasi akan dampak penggunaan pewarna sintesis menekan penggunaan kembali pewarna natural. Antosianin menjadi salah satu zat warna alami yang layak untuk dimanfaatkan lebih lanjut, khususnya di bidang pangan. Kelopak Bunga Telang (Clitoria ternatea L.) adalah bahan yang telah diakui menjadi sumber penghasil zat warna antosianin secara alami. Ultrasound-Assisted Extraction dipromosikan sebagai prosedur ekstraksi terkini yang mampu mengatasi kelemahan metode ekstraksi konvensional. Penelitian ini telah berupaya mempelajari proses ekstraksi kelopak bunga telang hingga memperoleh ekstrak antosianin serta mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi proses ekstraksi dengan metode Ultrasound Assisted Extraction, hingga akhirnya dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai produk minuman. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh capaian optimum untuk ekstraksi zat warna dari kelopak bunga telang adalah pada kondisi F/S 0.02 g/ml, suhu ekstraksi 60°C, dan waktu ekstraksi 90 menit, dengan konsentrasi antosianin di dalam minuman yang didapatkan sebesar 19.57 mg/L.
